Review Kaiser Stub'n - Terrey Hills

I have not had a chance to go to this restaurant in a good 5 to 7 years & the place is stillvery well hidden. The original owners still owns the place and does work cooking in the and the restaurant is still beautifully furbished. The restaurant is a bit expensive but for good reason: the food portions are quite large so you get what you paid for. The food is absolutely delicious as always from their dish known as "the wheelbarrow" to my favourite dessert which they serve on occasion (baked apple strudel with cinnamon ice cream), this restaurant is a must see and a must to go to for almost any occasion. Lastly( for all you alcoholics out there) they have a pricey, yet gigantic beer simply known as "the gumboot", silly because it's a glass beer mug in the shape of a nearly full size replica of a gumboot filled with beer. I absolutely love this place and hope to go again soonđŸ„°đŸ˜‹đŸ’đŸ»đŸŽ

The service is good and they served kids food first. The portion size is big. The pork knuckle dish is the must-have at this place. Warm Pretzels with horseradish and mustard were a nice entree although it can be quite filling. There are free parking spaces available at the front of the restaurant. Recommend sitting at the balcony with a nice view of the bushland.

Long serving family-run Austrian/German restaurant in Terrey Hills and a northern beaches favourite. I have been coming here for 30 years and have always enjoyed the fabulous food and excellent service. It is not overpriced either! In all the years, the setup has not ever really changed and the standard has always remained high. Always has a good atmosphere too for larger gatherings and can be equally suited to louder parties and romantic dinners alike. I've certainly done both at different times. Will be back.

How good is this place and how did I just find it out? Every single dish we had was exceptional. Started with an entree of pork crackling dumplings with cider sauce. The mains were house special pork knuckle (make sure to pre-book to avoid disappointment) and the grilled beef fillet with potato pears. Creme brule for dessert was lip smacking. Great venue, heaps of parking, cant go wrong with this one at all.

My father had booked our family a table for 3 on this Sunday night. We arrived and ordered our meals as per normal, and just as our meals arrived the restaurant owner’s wife who was busy serving advised us that there was a “minimum $55-per-head charge”. This fact was never mentioned to us prior to the commencement of our order. When my father voiced his opinion in a curteous manner that this was very unproffessional to not advise us of this minimum charge, the boss’ wife responded in a manner entirely unfitting of somebody in the hospitality industry- she screamed with no restraint, saying lines such as “we told you about this 6 months ago”. We have not come back to this restaurant for about 12 months. We retained our curteous behaviour until our exit from the premises, whereas this woman never ceased her rude and screaming tone-of-voice. We have decided that we will unfortunately not return, and were also told “you are not welcome to my restaurant”. Despite this, the quality of the food was high and we enjoyed the experience prior to this event

HORRIBLE! One of the worst dinning experience I’ve ever had in my life. First of all, they deceived you from the start as no one explains to you that there is a minimum charge of $55 per person which is also very unfair as they don’t offer you a set menu but a la carte menu with prices. My partner and I order 2 mains and water plus as salad (as I said we were not informed about the minimum charge at any time) the food arrived almost 40 minutes after and one of the mains was uncooked on the inside completly raw meat. I tried to get the attention of the waitress for more than 10 minutes unsuccessfully. We ended up eating only one chicken sntichzel, one salad and a 500 ml water bottle. When we approached the counter to pay the lady informed us of the $55 pp for the first time and when I refused to pay for something we didn’t even eat she screamed on my face so loud that she almost spit on me in front of everybody. She forced us to pay $80 at the end (real price for what we consumed was $44 based on their menu prices) For sure we are NEVER coming back. Horrific experience.
