Without taking you through a step by step of the service I can say we were thoughtfully looked after and along with the highly interesting menu combined to have a most enjoyable night.
Our visit was mid week and the restaurant was the busiest I have seen it. So it appears that people are voting with their feet.
The Pani Puri is served from a simulated Bombay street cart and is fun and gets the meal experience started and initiates the interaction with staff and guests.
Dessert is different every day so is not listed on the menu.
A big wrap to Rosie and especially Goutham for looking after us so well. Goutham is most knowledgeable and talented.

I had dinner at O’Bombay with my brother tonight only by chance because the restaurant next door was closed for renovations! We didn’t know what to expect but were blown away by the impeccable service and how delicious the food was! It’s got a kick to it without being over spicy and the presentation was spot on. My only criticism is the menu is difficult to navigate but the staff are really friendly and helpful in making recommendations! Prices are also very reasonable! If you like Indian food and are looking for a quick, in and out meal with a semi restaurant feel, this is the place! Plus I really like the contemporary atmosphere and Indian street food concept! 😃
We were welcomed back after a COVID shutdown in March to June.
Well, my wife and I returned to O'Bombay after some months absence. It was great to see owner Andy and our favourite waitress Rosie after months of not going out to dinner. Andy welcomed us back like lost relatives, and the food was delicious. The Butter Chicken has so much flavour it is amazing. I think they have changed the recipe. There is a refreshed menu, with some old favs like the Mumbi Street Food "Dahl Batata Puri" and some new recipe's like Murg Jwalamurkhi (grilled tandoor chicken pieces). Rosie has so much attention to detail that you can't do anything else but enjoy the attention. I asked for an off the menu, aloo naan, and was served one as a special treat.
If you are from Bombay and craving Bombay style Pani Puris then this is the place ..loved the Pani Puri and Pav Bhaji ..closest I have got to Bombay food in Sydney

O’Bombay is a relatively new addition to the growing restaurant scene in Thornleigh in Sydney’s north. It sits on Pennant Hills Rd with parking right behind it and has brought the flavours and tastes of Indian street food to the district. It has a quirky décor which goes well with the food they have on offer.
The food is decently priced and the portion size is perfect. The chicken biryani that I ordered tonight tasted pretty good but my favourite thing about this restaurant is the great service and friendly staff.
Very friendly staff. Very refreshing ambience. Not expensive. Almost all dishes are little spicy. It’s little different with what I used to have. I guess it’s the street food from Bombay! Love it! And my little one enjoyed the bread and roti A LOT! Must try in the Hills/Hornsby.

O'Bombay is an impeccable place to try the local and authentic cuisine of Bombay. Vadapav and Biryani are the most famous food on the menu they have. Must try :)

Was in Thornleigh last week for a personal work was also feeling a little low as I was getting homesick. So I googled for some Indian food nearby. To my surprise, I read O'bombay to which my mind didn't have a second thought. I had to go there. I saw the menu and I was actually taken aback because it resembled an actual Mumbai restaurant it literally had everything. From chat to Kababs, Dosas to Biryanis... I had to keep a check in my pocket as I would have gone bonkers. The reason I am giving it 5 stars is that of one simple reason which is the quality of food. As an Indian, we are always price conscious but trust me the actual indianess that you are getting with the dishes cannot be compared with the price. I had the seekh kabab followed it up with a chicken Thali both were filling and delicious. My satiated mouth couldn't resist Panipuris and I had to get a plate of it. You will never understand the delight of a Mumbaikar having Panipuri in Sydney!
This place is my Sureshot go-to place whenever I am visiting Sydney again!

Worth a Visit. “O Bombay” ticks all the boxes. Their Vada pav brought back the memories of Bombay’s favourite snack. Kheema Ghotala, Pav bhaji and Kala Jamun, definitely worth a try. Situated in a quiet suburb of Thornleigh, just off the busy Pennant hills road. Their ambience and hospitality deserve a mention. Thank you Andy. Planning our next visit already!
This great new restaurant in Hornsby is so authentic. We lived in South India for 7 years and have been missing the cuisine. O’Bombay does it soooo well. Absolutely delicious.
Staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful as well. It’s a must try for upper north shore residents who love good Indian Cuisine.

We went on Mother's Day and had the set menu. 3 appetizers and 3 mains + any drink + dessert + rice and roti for $75pp
Food was delicious and generous sized portions meant we had plenty to take home. Appetizers were especially good - great choice and very tasty.
The staff were especially friendly and helpful and remembered us from our last visit 6 months ago

O'Bombay has a beautiful ambience that feels fun but retains a certain intimacy for diners. The cocktails are fantastic, the food sensational and the service extremely friendly. We will be back and we will be bringing friends!
Nice place to experiment with modern Indian food. We tried the Kandivali Kachori, Butter Chicken Potli Samosa, and the Date & Apricot Kofta and loved it. The staff is super friendly and help out with recommendations. Location is convenient, just near the Hornsby Westfield fountain. Prices are okay for the food and service - don't compare with cheaper takeaways.
Had been to O'Bombay when they were in Thornleigh twice. Was sad when they closed there... but that was short lived...as they reopened in Hornsby. Have had the charts, Kayla chicken, Butter chicken, Garlic cheese nans.. all great. More recently went in for their breakfast (served now from 830-11am on sat/sun. How perfect when there is pretty much no other options around. And glad. Had the mysore masala dosa, chole batura, kheema pav and idly vada. Vada could be slightly better (more softer and uniform shape) but taste was good nevertheless. Overall a great experience and coming back on weekends!
Customer service is really good and staff are very friendly. The kebab is juicy and flavor but a bit disappointed about the lamb shank Rogan Josh.
