Hidden behind Tok H Arcade in Toorak is the cleverly named Meet Patty, which you would probably have guessed, specialised in cheat meals of the most dirty kind - burgers, fries and shakes.
I arrived at time more suited for a geriatric dinner session, and save to say, there weren't other customers there. Trust me, people were probably still wrapping up their afternoon tea at that time. This meant that we received our freshly made meal very promptly, despite there being one lady taking the orders and cooking the food.
Let's get the ordinary out of the way so that I can focus on the awesome. The chips were hot, fresh and super chunky, but lacking seasoning. There's salt and chilli on the table for you to DIY though, but personally I was hoping for more. Also, the apple pie milkshake tasted like vanilla milkshake with crumble on top. The consistency was spot on though - thick, smooth and creamy as!
Now time to rave about the burgers. I'm still drooling thinking about them. The Patty's Signature came with a juicy and tender beef patty, soft fluffy bun, sexy gooey cheese, and fresh and crisped lettuce and tomatoes. The addition of pickles and the special sauce reminded me of a Big Mac but in a good way. This was way fresher, and superior in taste and quality.
A beef burger, of course, should be accompanied by a chicken burger. The What The Cluck definitely had me exclaiming in delight. The fried chicken was succulent, and coated in a delicious golden batter. The combination of BBQ sauce, mustard and ranch dressing brought to the burger a smoky and bold flavour, and with the addition of crispy bacon and onion rings, this burger was just sensational.
I must also give credit where it's due to the lady working there. A very rude customer walked in halfway through our meal, gave her attitude and walked off, yet she remained calm and took it in stride. I definitely had to round up my rating after witnessing this encounter!
Excellent burger! I had the signature burger which is quite pricey for $11.50 on its own. However there was a lunch special for $15 which included chips and drink which is totally worth it! The burger bun was soft and pillowy - a sign that it is fresh! The patty was also done just right and the fillings made the whole burger tasty without overdoing it!
Love this place! Burgers are basic, with no frills and just damn delicious. Not in a busy location so perfect for a quick eat. Service is top notch too!
