This is an understated and underrated chocolate place which many people should know and talk about. The best thing I’ve had from here is their hot chocolate and mocha drinks. The mocha was so much better than established chains. You could taste the sweet velvety chocolate in every sip, and the combination was good (because I suspect, and my partner attests to this - that regular coffee is good here too).
We also ordered some chocolates to go. Some flavours tasted better than others, but they were all rather sweet. Maybe I should have gone for darker choc variants.
It’s a quiet shopfront along Malvern Road that has less retail traffic. Worth stopping by for a drink and some quiet reading time!
I absolutely love going here for my morning coffee. The girls are super friendly and the cafe has such a community spirit. The cakes are divine and everyone must try their single origin filter coffee. Yum!

Hot chocolate was smooth, creamy, not too thick (just right) and just enough sweetness (at least for me)
Food selection is not too great, but then again this is not quite a resto or cafe... but more a 'chocolate pitstop' place

I drink these days 4 coffees a day. True story. Hands down the nicest coffee around. Very strong and the girls here make it perfect every time.
The muffins are incredible. Especially the banana caramel chocolate. Love the chilli chocolate too.

Welcome to the big guys club of chocolate conissuership. If you're a member of the inner south east suburb club? Why haven't you hesrd of 3-shop-strong chain Xocolatl: Melbournians new home of single orignal, very luxurious and cacao-rich bittersweet treats for the refined palate.
Basically, if you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to chocolate, a first visit to this place may be a little overwhelming. This is a nicely sized nice vibe cafe with choco tendencies. This visit I was treated with a seasonally appropriate hanging leaves decroration. This set the mood for a yummy meal.
Ordered two espresso based coffees (redacted for anonymity) and a warm crumbly brownie. When it came out in good time,leaving us little time to read the complementary magazines. This really tasted pl great. It had a crumbly texture with a few different types of melty Choco under a crisp brownie crust. Very high quality flavours and rich enough for two. It was also well priced at a safe 12$ for the lot.
What I'd say about this place though is it does seem very inaccessible to a person who doesn't know about hcocolate. The staff are friendly but the wide world of chocolate is intimidating to even the most super foodies. I felt like there were a few too many types of hcocolate to make me feel relaxed entirely. I feel like asking staff for help they absolutely would.
I loved it! There were many different types of chocolate to choose from, worth the price and the service was wonderful. Wish there were more food options but hey loved the bagels for breakfast or lunch :) Beautiful shop, great atmosphere - not too noisy.

Xocolatl is a gorgeous family run business that hand makes some of the most amazing chocolates and other treats we've ever had. Our fave is their frozen ganache- raspberry white choc, dark choc, passionfruit and hazelnut (our take home box was devoured in the short drive home!) From hot chocolate, icy poles, cacao bean coffee to many other treats this place is beyond DELICIOUS!!!
之前在LBSS喝的hot chocolate用的是这里的巧克力，当时特别喜欢，看到ubereats可以送到家就买了一些巧克力，chocolate box不错，但single origin的巧克力就普通了。

Their classic hot chocolate (Spanish hot chocolate with vanilla and cinnamon) was heavenly. The chocolate orange flavour is lovely too. I have also tried a few of the pralines at the counter .. matcha with yuzu jam and the caramel heart. Such a yummy treat. It’s also a great place to sit and have a hot drink and work or go with friends as it’s very quiet with relaxing music. Only complaint is that they don’t have WiFi, but I was able to hot spot off of my phone and use my laptop anyway.
Stopped by for a Lil treat. Noticed that the brownies were almost done so I decided to try it and No Regrets!! Delicious Chocolatey Fudgey Brownie 😍 Will be back to try the hot chocolate since I couldn't afford an overdose of chocolate after that rich brownie!
Yummy chocolates and orange hot chocolates. We had the milk salted caramel and mango ganache which were both amazing.
Absolutely the best hot chocolate in the Melbourne area. Great choices, none of which are too sweet. Pure chocolate goodness. The staff is awesome too! Even the make at home pouch yields incredible hot chocolate. It’s better than Mörk which is more expensive. So glad I found this place!

It was delicious! The cakes and bagels were what I had once a week! And the cold and hot chocolate, theres no words to describe how delicious they were! When we went to Europe we brought them as gifts and everyone loved them!
Great coffees and the staff is friendly and helpful! Tried the iced mocha the other day and was floored . Great chocolates as well. They also have a good selection of hot chocolates though haven't tried any yet
do you love chocolate? of course you do! Xocolatl is calling to you, calling you home. Get a chilli hot chocolate and a truffle or four, go somewhere all on your own and forget all your troubles. then go back later in the week because all you can think about is chilli hot chocolate. don't deprive yourself of this very accessible divine pleasure (try the balsamic strawberry)
