Review The Baker's Duck - Toowoomba

If you’re travelling by Toowoomba and don’t stop by Baker’s duck, you’re doing yourself dirty... Almond croissant is top tier, I think I like it more than CJ at Kangaroo point (which is easily superior to a lot of other almond croissants in other Brisbane joints). Pies are good- wow that steak pie. The chorizo danish we had was good. I have to mention that their pastry is very very good. Everything was G O O D good, except for maybe the coffee (coffee was ok). Make a pit stop!! This is the kind of place people (who aren’t morning people) get up in the AMs and drive 1.5hrs from Brisbane for, just to get a nice selection of diff pastries. It’s worth it!

ATTENTION ALL TRAVELLERS...... This is a must. If you are in Toowoomba, stop and have the most absolute delicious pastries I have ever had. Grab a fabulous coffee to compliment you choice. Remember to get in earlier before they sell out though. I'm going back for more to take home to the Sunshine Coast.

Love The Baker's Duck. This is my go-to bakery for delicious coffee and exciting, beautiful and varied scrumptious pastries. Always something new to try and always something that is a familiar favourite.

The sweet pastries were absolutely DEVINE! One of the best, if not the best, pastries we've tried in Toowoomba. Flaky & buttery without being too messy to eat. The vanilla, custard and cheesecake pastries were our favourite. They were a hit in the office!

Clearly this bakery is very popular; the queue was out the door on the Sunday morning we were there. I guess that normally (pre-Covid) there are more tables and chairs inside, but they were sparse, and with just a few tables outside. By the time we got there (around 11am) many of the pastries had been devoured, but there were still some beauties in the display cabinet. We grabbed a coffee and a couple of pastries and headed off to the nearby park for consumption. The pastries were wonderful - crisp and light and flaky. My filled croissant had many lovely layers with a delicious cream cheese filling, while the quiches were savoury and tasty. The coffee was okay, but a bit weak for my tastes. The staff seemed a bit tired and (one a bit grumpy?) but I suppose they had been super busy since early morning so I can't blame them really. All in all, really fabulous food - and we will be back!

I've been wanting to come here for ages because my daughter always talks about the great food. She has bought me some delicious pastries which were great but I've never seen for myself. So popular even in the pouring rain. Very busy but the staff are great and thine kept moving. So many things to choose from, savoury or sweet and fresh bread. We also had coffee totals away which was good too. Well worth the wait and will definitely be back again.

Had the Birthday Cake Twicebake, the Mediterranean croissant, and the choc orange frangipane. The Mediterranean was really good. The pastry was flakey and crunchy. The Birthday Cake and Choc Orange frangipane were both a bit too sweet. The Birthday Cake, especially.

Okay... this place is the biggest little sneaky delight that I have come across since moving to toowoomba. We arrived too late to snatch up a sausage roll however the chocolate/almond croissant and cinnamon scroll did not disappoint. I highly advise anyone out there who loves a sweet treat to duck on down on a Saturday morning and give it a go. Early is best! They also have eftpos facilities.

Awesome cafe. The coffee is always great and the pies and pastries can't be matched. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful especially Ella. Couldn't recommend it more.

Fell in LOVE with your almond croissants at Ground Up. First time today making it to your bakery was worth every second of the hour line up. Best quiche and pie ive ever tasted. Friendly staff smiling and having fun. New fav place x

Baker's Duck have the most amazing pastries I have ever had in the whole of my life! The staff are super friendly and helpful. I'm a vegetarian and the staff explained each of the vegetarian options. I'm also a breastfeeding mum and was breastfeeding while there and a staff member offered me water, which was very thoughtful. The coffee is also excellent and the decor is fresh and pleasing. Awesome work Baker's Duck! I will be back time and time again!

Amazing pastries! Well worth the wait. The strawberry danish was delicious Only thing that could make this place any better is a nice cup of coffee to enjoy with it.

Love this place! Real bread and pastries, what a treat! It's probably just as well they aren't open every day or I'd be broke and packing on the pounds. I was excited to find they make dark rye sourdough - so close to authentic Finnish rye bread. And the cardamom scrolls and rhubarb danishes are to die for. I could go on and on! It's definitely worth lining up out the door on a Saturday morning.

Are words really good enough? After my first bite there were plenty of words coming out.. But every second word paired by joyous expletive.

As usual this place rocks, well run, owner up front leading the way. Toowoomba is extremely lucky to have this caliber of establishment in our town/region. Thanks

This bakery is 5 minutes walk from my house. This is extremely dangerous for me. I will never be skinny again. The pastries here are life. Only turn off for me is its ALWAYS crowded. The line is pretty fast moving though. Love this bakery.

Absolutely wonderful! It is the best bakery in Toowoomba and the welcome was so warm. I will be bringing my Brisbane family and friends here.

Really like the bread, but i wont bother buying pastries again, last time it was raw dough in the middle, and previous experiences have been burnt or also undercooked.
