I'd love more tasting plates that are suitable for sharing. Wish the vegetarian dish wasn't seitan.

Buffet breakfast and a lounge are is also located here.breakfast being wonderful- service and food
Came here for breakfast as part of the deal for staying at the RACV club. The pretty standard fare for RACV resort breakfasts, not too busy even on a public holiday, well staffed, but oddly enough not enough green stuff! It’s always good to have spinach or something like that but I never noticed any of the selections to be running short. Beautiful view. And at 9 when you could be bothered getting up the sun is already not in your eyes. Eat enough to skip lunch too.
Located on the second floor of the RACV Torquay Resort, Number One Restaurant and Wine Bar offers delicious modern Australian cuisine in a relaxed space of cavernous proportions.
The expansive dining area is lined on one side with floor to ceiling windows showcasing the picturesque view over the manicured golf course out to Bass Strait. On the other side of the dining room sits the open kitchen, allowing you to observe the kitchen team at work. The relaxed ambience is underscored by generous spacing between tables.
An over night stay getaway for our anniversary prompted for minimal movement and good food. So why go outside of the RACV resort to eat when you can go to the in house restaurant, Number One. Located to the left and far end of the lobby as you enter, the restaurant overlooks the golf course and ocean although there really isn't much to see at night seeing as its pretty dark out but does make the dining experience a little more special for some reason. We were served by a very lovely waitress who was both very knowledgeable as she was attentive.
The food was on point but wasn't "wow", just "nice" although with the price you pay per dish i.e. Western plains pork scotch attracted a $38.0 price tag, you would expect the flavour to be on point and "bang" in your mouth - sadly wasn't the case and had to season it. The great thing about it though was that it literally fell apart on the plate! Soft and melted in your mouth cooked to perfection - if only it was seasoned to perfection also. We were excited for dessert, Caramelised brioche $16.0 and were actually imagining a some what of a Dinner by Heston type brioche that was full of delicious diabetes flavouring with a delicate flavour but well...no. Rather it was a "nice-ish" and almost "I-feel-old-but-a-little-daring" type dish that lacked "boom" which you would want from a dessert. Don't get us wrong, it was nice but for the price you pay for this place, you would expect more. Till next time, this is Our Foodie Find.
Came down here for a birthday function today (Sunday) in the Spring Valley room. This is a very smartly appointed resort with an astonishing view across a very green looking golf course to the wilds of Bass Strait. The room was perfect for the party. It's a lovely modern, warm and comfortable space. A great place for the warmth of a party. We were astonished by the canapés and other small offerings at the function. All manner of things including calamari, lamb pieces, dumplings, sushi, rice paper rolls etc. every single one of them was lovely except the sushi which tasted like blotting paper. The rest were very tasty. The real stars of the function were the staff. It's hard to imagine a lovely group of servers headed by a very pleasant young woman from Tallin in Estonia (I've been there: it's cute). A very nice day. The resort looked wonderful. One day we'll stay here.
Location, location, location. Number One Restaurant is aptly name, with the address – No.1 Great Ocean Road. Located within the luxurious confines of the RACV Torquay resort – admire views of Bass Strait and the lush greens of the golf course, whilst dining on Modern Australian cuisine. RACV Torquay marks the starting point for the iconic drive, with the Great Ocean Road stretching along the South Eastern coast of Victoria between the towns of Torquay and Warrnambool. With the temperature gauge dropping, it wasn’t beach weather, but rather a
Not cheap but a great meal.. We spent a night at the resort and dined at Number One. They coped with my difficult diet well. I had Moreton Bay Bugs, often risky and served in a rather dried out state, but these were superb. They were grilled to perfection and very tasty. My husband thought his kangaroo was cooked to perfection too.
Staff were friendly and attentive.
Fantastic service great view, amazing food
Lovely service and enjoyable food. Was an enjoyable place to have a nice dinner out.
Fantastic food. Superb soup, fantastic grilled barra, == and lamb beautiful veggies.. prices appear ear to be a little high but compared to the so called restaurants in the main part of Torquay, if you do not drink liquor you get great quality at the same price
The most amazing service. I came here with my two month old baby for a special occasion dinner. The restaurant was sufficiently quiet to allow my baby to sleep through the meal and there was lots of room to push the pram around. The waitress made sure we had a table with ample room for the pram. Food of course was delicious but that doesn't need saying. We had the porterhouse steak cooked to medium rare perfection and the barramundi with crispy skin. Wish I had room for dessert. Oh well, I'll just have to come back :)
buffet breakfast was fabulous...
dinner prawn risotto was delicious but the rest was alittle disapointing. Warm Olives should be in olive oil dip, so you can dip bread & pipless. Crab slider was shameful thrown on a bed of shredded lettuce in bun which was not the standard I expect from an exclusive 5 star hotel, should've been in a soft taco shell with something that compliments seafood. Buns & lettuce are from burgers. I will eat at Hardings lounge next time.
We had the chicken on buckwheat risotto and barramundi and both dishes were excellent . Super fresh and tasty. Staff were also very good .
Great service and wonderful flavours with all the food. Very enjoyable.
Started off badly when they could not find our booking but this was quickly resolved by the young man on the front desk.
Service was a bit slow but did improve as the night progressed.
The food was sensational, the Coffin Bay oysters were the best oysters I have eaten in years.
Overall a great meal & due to the quality of the food I think it is good value.
Prawn risotto, beef brisket in the small
Plates menu, AMAZING!
Service was great!
Wish the lights were dimmer to create more of a vibe, felt a little conference like.
