Great little cafe in the centre of Townsville. Great food and staff were very friendly. Highly recommended the smashed avo with bacon. Great range of teas and coffee options.
This is a neat little hip place right across from Victoria Bridge. They make fantastic espresso based coffees and their breakfast is very very good. I’ve eaten here twice in the three days I’ve been here. Traditional breakfast was very tasty and well presented and the bacon eggs roll was on if the best I’ve had. Highly highly! Recommend MJ&Co. - you won’t be disappointed
The service is helpful and friendly. My friend and I ordered the chocolate croissant, almond croissant, and 2 coffees and both were yummy! They have indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. The interior and exterior is clean and the atmosphere is very laid back. We'd come here again! It also came with chips which were pretty good, but nothing different than chips you'd receive elsewhere.This place was popping with people and was packed when we arrived but my buddy and I were still shown to a table.

This is my go to morning hangout when traveling to Townsville for work. Just a short 20 metre walk from the Grand Chancellor Hotel the coffee, breakfast and service at this little place near the river is always reliable. Staff are friendly, service in the morning is quick and efficient and who ever is in the kitchen can definitely poach an egg! While I have no real complaints about my regular hotel next door this is my choice for breakfast. Its a great way to avoid the buffet...
On this occasion we had two visits, one on a very busy Saturday morning and the other a quiet Monday. Ordering on the busy day did take a while and we were concerned the food would be delayed. In the end coffees were a little slow and meals followed very soon after. Fast service, decent prices, delicious food. Good spot. Highly recommended. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and coffee. Would come here again.
I had a very tasty lunch this afternoon at MJs and don't agree with the negative reviews listed here. I thought there was a decent selection on the menu (I had the moroccan lamb salad, which was very tasty indeed) and service was reasonably prompt. I have no problem of paying at the counter at time of ordering, we all know why cafes have to resort to this!There was a great atmosphere with a musician playing and singing in the corner - she was really good too! All up, I thought, a very good option and I would eat here again.
Nice coffee and breakfast in this beautiful cafe. Location is superb, close to the river with great outdoor area under shade with a cool breeze coming through. Lovely friendly staff, there's also a water bowl for your furry friends when you take them for a walk by this central area. Overall a pleasant experience, cheers.
