NAME CHANGE
Cluden Park Motor Inn has undergone a name change and a facelift. Now known as Townsville Discovery Park and Motel Inn, the caravan park and motel have morphed into the new identity. The rooms in the motel are large, as is the bathrooms. The rooms are comfortable and air conditioned, with a fridge and are spacious. The location is ideal for people visiting a family member based in the army (barracks are new door) or the Cluden Race Course. There is a large shopping centre 600 meters up the road which is ideal for people who wish to purchase groceries to be self sufficient. The motel has a chef to cook a hot breakfast if desired or you can have a basic continental breakfast. Accessibility for wheelchairs and walkers into the rooms can be a challenge as the doors open inwards and the is a 5cm rise to get wheels over. Assistance to get into the rooms is required.

Great value for money. We booked in for one night and after seeing the room we booked 2 more night's. The room was large and clean with a kitchenette. Washing machine and dryer worked really well. We were worried about the traffic noise but it didn't bother us we got a good night's sleep. Lastly all the staff we spoke to were very friendly and happy it's nice to see a smiling face when you walk in the door.
Such a wonderful, welcoming, friendly place to stay. Family friendly with patience and understanding regarding young children. Our room was beautiful, very clean, spacious with a home feel. Pool was lovely and clean and after a day of warm weather the temperature was perfect. Will definitely be staying with these beautiful people again soon. HIGHLY recommended, by myself and my 2 older children, ages 9 and 6!
My husbnd and I will definately stay here again, the restaurant food was delightful, the staff were amazing the chef is accomodating the rooms are clean and modern. 5 star service at budget rates.
Standard room but all the niceties often lacking in budget accommodation - fluffy, soft towels; double shower; very clean; a fridge that's actually cold & the freezer actually freezes (no melted ice cream by the morning ! ) ; great lighting; awesome staff ( all friendly & very helpful ). Very comfortable indeed :) :) :)
I have stayed here a couple times recently and although you'd think it a budget motel due to the low price, it is far from that. Sonia & Gary are outstanding hosts and the motel is a credit to them. The rooms I've stayed in (ground floor)are large, clean and the showers are the largest you'll find anywhere. Included in the price is continental breakfast in the restaurant or you can pay $5 for great - 2 eggs & bacon on toast - you wouldn't get anywhere else. They also have a bar area and a great dinner menu at reasonable prices, recommend the bangers, mash, peas & onion gravy $15 or the huge chicken parma for a bit more.
