Our first visit and we were very impressed, the greeting was genuine and friendly, the decor is very pleasant and the music is nice and low volume as background music should always be. The service is great. The menu covers a good range of dishes. The four of us shared entrees of seekh kebabs, two different dosas and they were all excellent. A highlight being the lentil broth that accompanied the dosas. For main we shared butter chicken, goat curry (I’ll update the review when i get the exact name) and malai kofta. We also had some excellent naan bread. The first two dishes were particularly good with amazing depth of flavour. It does seem a little cheap to charge for rice but overall we were very happy and will definitely return. Pleasant ambience, upscale food and fair prices, our bill was less than $120. Licensed and BYO wine option which is a bonus.

Spice Theory is a new Indian restaurant in Turramurra. The restaurant has contemporary Indian styling and the space has a fresh , clean and bright aesthetic. It has a sophisticated ambience to it and will appeal to the north shore diner. The owner Kalaish is a delightful host, and his 30 years experience certainly shows in his hospitable nature. He has owned 8 restaurants throughout his career, originally hailing from Bangalore and thus you will find this to be a genuine and traditional Indian restaurant. We were glad to see this place is BYO which made it easy for us to bring our favourite wine. The food comes out on heavy plates (stoneware) which we found to be a nice touch. The food here is quality Indian fare. The appetisers brought out by Kalaish included Pappadums with Mint sauce, Cucumber Raita, Mango chutney and Tomato chutney which was a lovely mix of dips to try. The delicious starters included the “Dani Poori Chaat”, a lovely small crispy puffed bread. Served chilled, it’s very light, mild spice and delicate to taste. The entree was the “Mini keema dosa”. Dosa are often a popular Indian choice and this large amazing pancake, filled with minced lamb was outstanding. We then chose from the menu two dishes, including the Beef Korma and Fish from Pondicherry. Both dishes were delicious. The beef was tender. The korma sauce was delicate and full of flavour. The fish was noticeably very fresh, with a mild curry sauce. Again, very delicate and flavoursome. These were well above the curries we have tried before. There’s clearly a lot of experience from the chefs here. Accompanying the mains was plain and garlic naan bread and it was perfectly cooked. Eat it alone or use it to mop up your curry sauce. There’s also plenty of vegetarian options and other non vegetarian favourites like Biryani, tikka, butter chicken, vindaloo and Rojan josh. If you’re after a group catch up or party they have two banquets to choose from: vegetarian or traditional. We found this to be some of the highest quality and tastiest Indian we’ve had in a while. We thoroughly recommend a visit here The locals are in for a treat. If you’re not in area, make it a destination to visit.

Very good food. Tasty and well cooked. Not the cheapest but I think the quality justifies the price. Would like to see signature dessert offerings to rival the food. Excellent though.

Visited Spice Theory with 3 friends and a baby for the first time and it was a nice find for Indian in our local area. The food was delicious and well presented. Great naan bread and portion sizes for the entrees and curries. Hosts were attentive and very friendly. Would recommend for a group and family meal.

Ate with a party of 6 on a busy Friday night, service was seamless and efficient. The waitresses took time to advise us on chefs recommendations and we had a constant flow of food being delivered. The quality of the food was stellar and portion sizes were perfect. The ambience is really well thought out too, you could have a family dinner, birthday party or a romantic date in the same room and all parties would feel comfortable. Highly recommend, this is definetely going to become a local gem.

Went to give them a try. Ordered 3 curries and each one was fantastic. Although the vindaloo meat was a little tough, the taste made up for it. Only downside was that it was quite pricey.
