Review Deli Cafe - Twin Waters

Shannon has made us feel very welcome with her friendly and professional manner. She even stayed past her shift hours to ensure we (and other people) are checked in. Thank you for the great service! The hotel room is spacious, clean and warm - I would recommend it.

While the rooms have been refurbished and were very satisfactory, the grounds and common areas show their age. The pool and water activities are great for kids. I would have liked more non-alcoholic drink options at the bar .

Great location, foyer, common facilities. However the rooms are very tired for $320+ per night. I also felt the overall venue lacked care in the small details such as no spare toilet paper ( our room only had one almost empty roll) filthy carpet in the main restaurant and only one chair for our outdoor table (room 120). Bathroom drain and light switches also a bit tired and dirty. These are easy things to fix to provide a more polished experience at this price point.

We stayed here for a one-week conference and the venue was ideal. Rooms are new and nicely designed. Staff are very friendly, and did an awesome job handling a conference of 1100 people. Lots of facilities here and a beautiful location. Kangaroos and brush turkeys around the grounds are an extra treat. The place is a bit far from Maroochydore and Mooloolaba if you don't have a vehicle or transfer, and there aren't many taxis in the area.

The Room was good but very basic. Didn't provide tooth brush or tooth paste in the toilet/washroom. The check out time is so soon and not a very secured cloakroom. Probably don't have staff to manage. The main restaurant for dinner has a very basic menu and people get pushed to buy burgers and pizza for dinner. Sadly there's no restaurant near by

Absolutely beautiful spot by the water. Very idyllic. Rooms however are a little dated with terracotta floor tiles for example. The staff were very friendly but they seemed rushed and a little impatient at other times. Inconsistent is depending on who you spoke wouod be the general opinion and as much as I hate to draw a line like this I'd have to say the younger bar staff were the more laid back and amenable. The older staff seemed to consider the guests something of an inconvenience sometimes. We were at a 5 day conference and I'm not sure whether the lunches, snacks and dinners were brought in or provided by the hotel but if provided by Novotel then it was underwhelming, borderline bad. Not even kidding but the vegetarian food was shocking and one member of our group asked multiple times if there were nuts in a dessert and was told no. Ate it, then got taken away in an ambulance 👌 Like is said though if the catering was externally provided then that's not ok Novotel. Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Look a nice resort and nice lagoon with kayaks BUT some things have put us off coming back: 1. Freezing cold pool 2. Told they are not hearing the hot tub - so it was a cold tub 3. Rooms pretty basic, shower pressure low and bathroom stunk. 4. No music by pool or bar (hardly hear it near bar) 5. They charge guest to play pool 6. No drink service around pool 7. Pay for stand up paddle boards.

While one may have high expectations of a hotel that rates itself as 4 star, expectations for the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort Hotel should perhaps be reduced, 1 star or perhaps, on a nice day, 1.5 stars. To the extent that while having booked and prepaid for 3 nights for 2, although I ended up alone (at $400+ a night) through one of our larger airlines, I stayed less than 24 hours. I booked in late afternoon but did not get to my room till after dark, warning torches, safari guides and adequate signage would help finding your room, to be greeted as I opened the door to my ground floor Lagoon View room by a wall of over powering sickly sweet air freshener. The room itself was dated and very worn, looking more like a down market motel. Opening the balcony door to a view of lawn and trees in the dim lights (no sign of a lagoon) to get some fresh air and to admire the well-worn table and chairs on the balcony which led straight out onto the dog lawn. Going back in to the room containing a Queen Bed, a Twin bed, a narrow desk and chair (most of the desk was taken up with a large flat screen TV) and a bedside table with telephone and lamp (the rooms only light and no sign of an alarm clock) and minimal floor space. Then to look at the private bathroom, clean but also well worn (it took till the following morning to find out the secret to turning off the hot water tap). Also the obligatory empty mini bar fridge ( sorry ,there were 4 capsules of milk) and very downmarket tea, coffee and kettle. After an acceptable night’s sleep, despite the lingering air freshener, I awoke to find that anyone passing on the path 10 feet from the balcony could see straight into the room, thank the lord I closed the sheer curtains. After finding the Deli Café (the staff were very efficient and pleasant) I had a quiet breakfast in the expansive foyer (the foyer and exteriors around it did seem what one would expect). I had chosen not to join the families queuing for the breakfast buffet ($35 per person) and walked back to my ‘room’ to find there actually was a Lagoon View through the trees in one direction. Sitting on the balcony reading while waiting till I was to be picked up for lunch I enjoyed watching the activities on the lawn, dog walking, dog training, drone flying and children playing as well as providing something to be stared at for other entertainment (anything was better than the lingering air freshener). My friends arrived to take me to lunch, after the safari walk to find me, and horrified by the accommodation asked me to stay with them for the remainder of my visit, an offer I gladly accepted despite knowing that there would be no refund on the room. and so, after less than 18 hours in the luxurious surrounds of the 4 star Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort Hotel I decamped and hope to never be faced with such rooms again. And to make this clear, I am a 75 year old man and have travelled a bit in my time and so have seen both the good and bad of accommodation.
