Very quick service once you order! And the food is pretty tasty! My go-to order is the siu mai (steamed pork and shrimp dumplings) which they do well :) Their seats do fill up quite quickly, so I would definitely recommend making a booking beforehand!
Delicious salt & pepper fried eggplant! Food can be on the saltier side, which really helps you to finish the rice in no time! The coconut and osmanthas pudding for dessert was a highlight. Love it!
We went to Yum Cha for a birthday lunch a while ago. Yum cha is generally not my
Favourite thing but I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the food. It was quite busy so be sure to book.

Remember that I have a very bad experience from the manager of this restaurant three years ago. Due to the fact that I have been to its other siblings and found that the management has been really improved in their training (as from the experience of the other spots including Pacific Fair, Logan Hyperdome, Carindale etc.), my curiosity pushed me to give it a go for Yum Cha lunch yesterday. Arrived the spot and found that they have changed the manager. Service is absolutely brilliant and very attentive and smiling faces. Perused the menu and discovered that the Dim Sims on the menu really shed light for Yum Cha since there are many interesting items offering such as Piggy Custard Buns, Rabbit Prawn Dumpling & Steamed Spinach Rice Paper Rolls with your options of ingredients. I particularly like the Deep Fried Prawn with Beancurd Skin Roll, which was crispy with heaps of prawns. Another hero is the beef offal, which is composed of enough varieties that the competitors would not offer. Overall, this time is very well impressed and the management deserves a thumb-up of such change. Cheers!
Great food, atmosphere is awesome, plenty of tables and very spacious. An ideal place for an event/party. Food was generous and delicious. You will find that it is a bit pricier than usual - you’d might like to book this place for a special occasion though.
Been here a few times and always happy with the food. Prices are good and the venue is always clean. Good customer service and a lot of menu options as well as ordering off the yum cha cart.

It is a cold wet day and we decide on a hot Yum Cha lunch at Garden City. This is a large nicely decorated restaurant and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Our previous Yum Cha meal here was quite average so fingers crossed as we walk in at 12pm.
I was surprised to see a dozen tables already occupied as we walk to our table. I asked for Iron Goddess Tea which arrived within 2 minutes. A waitress offered us some deep fried goodies, taro dumplings and glutinous rice dumplings. Expecting them to be hot, I was disappointed both plates of dumplings were barely warm, almost room temperature.
A trolley comes along and Phuong Tran selects five piping hot dishes. The best of the bunch is the marinated pork ribs in black bean and chilli. And the worst are the Xiao Long Baos. This tiny serve of three XLB ($6.00) are the worst I have eaten. Thick doughy skin with a bit of mince pork filling. I would suggest to management to remove XLB from the menu until they can improve on their recipe.
An ordinary Yum Cha lunch ($45.50) where the hot fragrant Iron Goddess Tea was the highlight of the meal.
Back in the golden ages *cough* i.e. 15 years ago, to get yum cha you’d have to schlepp it out to the Sunnybank/Runcorn area. Ever since the new Westfield renovations, this Yum Cha franchise has been popping up within each location’s newly renovated restaurant section. We’ve been to the Indooroopilly, Carindale and Garden City ones now. And by far, the Garden City one is the best. Indooroopilly admittedly was when it first opened and the dumplings there were not fresh and service was poor so I would’ve rated it 2/5. Carindale used to be good when it first opened say 2 – 3 years ago but the last 2 – 3 times we’ve been there the food quality has also dropped considerably so again 2/5. We’ve been to GC twice now and both times had a pleasant experience.
This rating is reflective of the food that we go to Yum Cha to enjoy - so I can only really rate a very small part of the menu. The pan fried pork dumplings, sweet and sour pork and blackbean beef are really nice. So much so that my partner and I often Uber Eats them to the house when we have a craving. I would rate 5 stars, but the wait time is always a bit long.. in store and on Uber Eats.
This yum cha delivers great tasting foods and is the best in Brisbane if you ask me. Comparing it to the other two yum cha restaurants in Sunnybank this seems to be topping them in quality of food.
