Review The Charles Dining Room - Wagga Wagga

Amazing dining experience!!! The 7 courses we had with the matching wines were excellent. The staff were super friendly and so helpful, we could not fault the service. The restaurant has a great glass fronted window overlooking the street. Highly recommended if visiting Wagga Wagga. I believe this restaurant has now changed it's name to The Charles.

We had an amazing meal here. It was the set menu (as we visited on a Friday). Super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Great "upper class" dining experience

Service was lovely. Food was nice and cooked to perfection however the price you pay for a 5 course meal. Not worth it. Left feeling unsatisfied. Portions were just so damn small !!! Every portion was just 20/30% too small especially the ‘main’. Sad. If they had bigger portions it would of been excellent however due to paying $200 for one evening out. Money is better off spent else where.

Probably the Best restaurant in Wagga. Not trying to be over fancy but providing good food and service with a nice relaxing and casual ambiance. Food: everything was delicious from start to finish Service: Easy going Ambiance: not to overly fine dining Family friendly: leave the kids at home and enjoy the moment. Will I come back: most definitely

Service was informative and friendly. Food was more than i expected and did not dissapoint. We left wishing for more and yet too full to experience more. The chef put forward flavours that you really have to taste to believe. Thank you.

The fanciest restaurant in Wagga Wagga floats over the driveway of a motel. The Roundabout Restaurant could well have been named for the street feature, less than fifty meters up the road. Suburban nature strips and lichen-speckled roof tiles are certainly an odd view for a well-appointed fine diner. We had a shaky start to our meal. Our reservation was incorrectly recorded on their booking system—despite both email & SMS confirmations being correct—and junior staff panicked for a manager rather than simply seating us in an empty table and working it out quietly behind the scenes. Luckily they have a good wine list, and we were soon soothed with a keenly priced 2017 Tolpuddle Chardonnay ($120) that was elegant to the final coveted dribble. The five-course tasting menu ($79/head) gets underway with bread and black garlic butter that we were cheekily advised not to devour before our dumplings. This is apparently because their sauce is too good not to dip in. While I disagree about the sauce—the tamari and chilli blend was unbalanced—it definitely was improved by the butter. And while the dumpling skins could do with more refinement, their packed prawn interiors were impressive. A beautiful piece of yellowfin tuna served two ways—seared with jalapeño mayonnaise and tartare with tequila & lime applied too sparingly to taste—was let down by under-seasoning & corn crackers so crisp they hurt my mouth. Boned and rolled leg of chook was perfectly executed, wrapped around confit garlic and thyme risotto with an accompanying pat of the silkiest Paris mash I’ve had all year. It stole the thunder from the Wagga farmgate beef fillet, which also came with Paris mash (I suspect the former dish was meant to have cafe de Paris butter on green spears of asparagus instead). Desserts—where guests can choose between macadamia sable with honey sorbet, lemon curd, yoghurt foam and fennel pollen or a freeze dried strawberry ice cream concoction—throw too much at it for my liking. I suspect a simple panna cotta with the beet & Bidgee Strawberries and Cream compote would have been enough, without the Junee Liquorice and Chocolate Factory liquorice meringue, caramelised white chocolate milk crumb and aforementioned strawberry ice cream. Good produce doesn’t need over-complication.

One of the worst experience ever. After 12.5 hrs shift there was no lights in my room and my fridge was dead. Funny things was when I complained they were just staring at me and my fridge was smelling like hell. My food was rotten inside the fridge. I ended up walking outside for dinner and the most funny part was raining. Please fix something if you can.

The the service was fantastic at we went with 4 adults and 2 children nothing was too much trouble. All the food was fantastic well thought out and beautifully presented. The portions were not huge but we were full at the end of it.

Wonderful evening here last night with a group of business colleagues - friendly inviting staff in a great setting but WOW the Duck Tacos are an absolute delight ! - squeeze the lemon over the succulent duck for a zingy mixture of tastes. My pork was tender and very tasting with a good serve of veggies. All washed down with some reasonably priced wine. Some fellow diners finished of with a espresso martini affogato which they declared sensational.

Amazing food, was never without a full glass of wine or beer, staff were fantastic and meals came out quick and it was packed. Well done. We will be back.

wow just wow! the food was sublime omg! The staff were friendly and very efficient and personally i found that the menu was very reasonably priced! Would go back there in a heartbeat

The meals were most excellent. Yes, prices are “up there” but this would be one of the very few times I say “They are totally worth it “. The combination of ingredients added to the taste and creativity. Definitely recommend.

Wish I could give more then 5 stars. Food was absolutely amazing and the staff were just as amazing. My partner proposed to me there 2 weeks ago and it's was perfect. The friendly staff made it so much more special. Will most definitely come back again �� Oh and the salted caramel panacotta is to die for

Had dinner here tonight with my husband and it was amazing!! The food was to die for! Every single dish was delicious and we loved every mouthful! Will definitely be back!

Had a lovely early dinner with friends tonight. The roast chicken was delicious, moist and flavourful. The creme broulee tart was silky with a beautiful crunch, the lavender was an amazing addition without being over powering. Will have to come back soon!

We had a lovely experience this morning. The staff were very accommodating (we have a 9 mth old) the food was amazing and the coffee was to die for!! We definitely be back :)

Jamie and his team work well together to bring Wagga some great new dining experiences with the degustation evenings. Well don, couldnt fault the meals, service or prices.

My family and I were here last night for dinner for our Dad's 50th! From starr to finish and even the drinks everything was absolutely amazing! The food was the best we've ever had and the deserts were so yummy!

An amazing restaurant with great atmosphere! Offering delicious food, gorgeous wine list, and excellent service.

The entree and main course were fabulous. The dessert was very sickly and two mouthfuls was enough. I was not offered pepper by the waitress although other tables were.

Just wow! The food tonight was amazing. Great atmosphere and the staff were fantastic. Already thinking about a return visit.
