Lunch in Warrnambool!
We were intrigued by the long queue outside the door at this bakery in the middle of the week so we stopped to to grab some lunch. We ordered a couple of meat and salad rolls which were made to order. Even though it was busy, the queue moved quickly and the staff were friendly and unflappable. Our sandwiches were really delicious and good value! This is a really great option for lunch or a snack!
A bustling cafe which is popular with the locals. The pastries were really nice, and we enjoyed their jam donuts which were really soft, as well as their (meat and veg) pastie which we would highly recommend trying. The coffee here is good as well.
This is a busy place that serves up wonderful cakes, pies and pastries. I especially loved the vegetable pastie. We had the orange flourless cake too. It was beautifully moist and not too sweet, just the way we like it!
The best spot in town for a sweet treat, or a custom made roll. Much more filling options than other well-known sandwich shops, plus real coffee, chai and teas (loyalty cards available for repeat caffeine-ators).Can be a bit busy, but that says a lot in itself, and there are a lot of staff which reduces wait times to very reasonable durations.
Made me a LIFE SAVING coffee and a great big drippy ham-cheese-avo with sundried tomatoes (which was a suggestion by the staff and a very good one) toastie on my first trip to Warrnambool in years. Now I come here every time I’m in town. My only complaint is that they are very bad for my diet, as their wide selection of pies, cakes, rolls, slices and what have you is tough to avoid and it’s not at all difficult to leave carrying your bodyweight in baked goods. That chocolate muffin I had last time (okay…and the time before as well…) was a problem. I think they’ve managed to engineer something that is chocolatey-er than chocolate. The damned things are like crack.
I was, however, crushed to learn they aren’t open on Sunday. Oh well…I’m here all week…
Was down at worm bay watching the sunrise, a local suggested Browns bakery. Best veggie pastie roll I’ve ever had! Packed full of vEg! And the pastry tasted really wholesome and flakey! There wasn’t much else vegetarian to choose from in their pastry section... but this was delicious! All the muffins, cakes and buns looked so delicious too! Next time I would save room to have the Bee Sting and the veggie pastie roll again! Thank you for the warm deliciousness.
