Offt this café gives me vibes! I love the openness of the space, the understated decor and the hospitality of the staff. What about the food you ask? Outstanding! Hero dish for me was the Kung Fu Chia, the flavours just worked so well together and it wasn't overly sweet so you can enjoy it any time of the day. Also, I have no idea how but Eugene's makes the best freakin' pancakes! I've never had pancakes so light and fluffy before - both sweet (the pancakes) and savoury (gravlax blini).

Love this cute little cafe. Delicious fresh healthy food, we ordered House cured beetroot gravlax with poached eggs, salmon roe on buckwheat blini and Organic buckwheat & buttermilk pancakes, strawberry compote and enjoyed both. Their coffee is also fantastic, you’ll find me here for their ice coffee throughout summer.

Enjoyed a delicious, colourful, and healthy brunch spread at Bronte’s charming Eugene’s cafe with the quirkily named Kung Fu Chia (coconut chia and tapioca pudding paw paw, pineapple, passionfruit and almonds), Eggs Kosciuszko (poached eggs with smoked Snowy River trout on rye with hollandaise with salmon caviar and heirloom cherry tomato salad), Super-Kale-Rific green juice (kale, lemon, agave and jalapeño) and strawberry and tarragon soda, with a side of Double Roasters coffees. The wonderful food is equally matched by the sunny service.

Some realise nice food with mostly good quality ingredients. The flavours were a bit overdone and this cool vibed place could benefit from simplifying some of the flavours, less salad dressing, more lightly fried corn fritters, etc. will be back, but would love a bit more subtlety in some dishes.

For me it's always exciting to find a place serving really good and tasty salad. I ordered the one with quinoa, cauliflower and stuff, and I even added grilled chicken and poached eggs on top. I have to say it tastes like heaven! I couldn't remember that I had any salad in my life tasted as good as that.

Eugene's is an absolute gem! The interior is gorgeous! Not like so many cafes around that lack soul and follow a prescribed formula - this place is a true original. But it doesn't stop with the decor - the food is fresh and creative. I had the green salad and it was delish! Coffee was bang on... Will be back to try everthing else!

Eugene's at Bronte 🌊

My friend and I went today to experience what others has experienced here. We have noticed Eugene's at Bronte bad the best coffee, brownies and egg benedict.

Its true when you experienced it. I could see people non stop coming to get take away coffee 👌🏼

Price was reasonable and the portion was big enough for my tummy to easily filled. Hipsters Fritters and Magic Mushroom were our favourite for (now); wanted to try the infamous pancake but no more room. Should try next time and def be back soon!

Just down the road from Three Blue Ducks, in the opposite direction of Bronte Beach, is a lesser-known, hidden gem. Eugene’s still has the same focus on high quality, seasonal produce that Three Blue Ducks does, yet you won’t require a highly strategic game plan to get a table, nor the same amount of cashola.

Eugene’s breakfast game is strong. I’ve had the hipster fritters, which means I now vote Greens, wear plaid and am growing a beard. LOLs aside, the patties of quinoa, feta and zucchini, served with la boqueria chorizo, poached eggs, guacamole, kale and chamoy, were quite delicious. The Double Roasters coffee is also on point.

With a ceiling rose, marble tables and sconce lights, the place is a study in Art Deco style. It’s also incredibly small, meaning it’s cosy and you sit intimately close to strangers. If you intend on discussing over breakfast the details for a jewellery heist or Tim Worner-style affair, probably best you find somewhere else. On a hot summer’s day, you’re going to want to hope you’ve worn Rexona. Although the breeze coming through the front bi-fold doors might save you.

Don’t leave before raiding the cabinet of take-home salads, cakes, lasagne, quiches and pies. All very gourmet. Oh and if you’re wondering, like I was, Eugene is a real life person.

This cafe is very popular in Bronte - more so for the breakfast options rather than lunch. The decor is inviting and it is a comfortable space if you are solo. I would recommend it for somewhere to work from during the day however if there are a few tables filled it can be very noisy.
The coffee was nice and will suit those who like it creamy. If you like your coffee strong you will want to order a double shot. I went for the smashed avo with a side of spicy chorizo. This had a large serving of avocado and feta which was seasoned heavily with lemon. This dish could be improved with fresh tomatoes or dukkah. The la boqueria chorizo had a good amount of spice.

My girlfriend went for the hipster fritters which for $22 gets you two poached eggs, toast, kale salad, chorizo, guacamole and 4 fritters filled with quinoa, zucchini and feta. It is great value however the fritters do need to be paired with the guacamole as they are lacking on their own.

All of the meals coming out of the kitchen are beautifully presented and you could certainly sit back at Eugenes and watch the beach goers walk by for the best part of the morning. As you go to pay feel free to treat yourself to some of the delicious looking sweets including the Belgian chocolate and walnut brownie

We first spotted Eugene’s at Bronte on the way to the Three Blue Ducks a few years ago and made a mental note to come back for brunch someday…it only took us three years, but we made it eventually and we weren’t disappointed at all by what we found. Their all-day menu features some interesting ingredients – like the Magic Mushrooms which blends an assortment of mushrooms (including shiitake and black wood ear) with parmesan, paprika fried eggs, slivers of jamon serrano, corn truffle and pickled jalapenos to create one big flavour punch.

Visited Eugenes expecting very large things. Unfortunately, Eugene's did not meet my expectation.
Upon arriving, we were seated next to a couple who had brought two of their dogs with them and were cradling them up as though they were their children. The dogs were pretty close to us and sneezed a bit which grossed me out quite a bit while we were eating- but, it is another 'pet friendly' cafe around the Bronte area. The service here was OK.
I ordered the magic mushroom dish which was quite nice, however, the friend I visited with ordered the pie which was not freshly made and was a bit bland. The food here is not too bad and, for the area, it's one of the better cafes, however, I just couldn't get past the actual dining experience and hated being surrounded by pooches. Since I've heard so much about this place, I could have been unlucky and visited on an off day but the atmosphere of this place is really what let it down...I didn't feel like I could enjoy my meal at all. I miss the days where people could visit a cafe without having to bring their furry friends along.

I've been meaning to try Eugene's for a while now, having recently moved into the area. The place is always packed so I recommend getting in early. The coffee is great and the menu is very inventive. I had the eggs Benedict which was delicious - served with jamon and a verjus hollandaise, this is a serious winner. Although the staff were friendly, some appeared slightly under experienced which unfortunately came through with their service. Otherwise a great place to check out!

Went here for a quick bite to eat. Nice set up and quite busy near a local school. You can order off the menu but there's a fair few pre- made things there like salads, quiche, sweets. I got a takeaway salad; soba noodles, broccoli, broad beans and also the Beetroot, lentils and fetta. It tasted fresh, nice and healthy and the small size was a good lunch serving. I also got the mint, lemon and lime juice which was like a frappe. Quite nice - I should try eating in sometime.

Eugene's is honestly one of Sydney's best cafes. It can do no wrong and is ALWAYS my go to cafe to take friends and family. The coffee here is always perfect - the food is even better.

I have tried almost everything on the menu and every dish is packed full of flavour. Eugene, the owner, is a genius and amazing chef!! I can highly recommend their buckwheat pancakes, Avo smash, toasted roast chicken sandwich, chicken pie, eggs Benedict and their brownie. I would also go as far as saying their egg & bacon roll is the BEST in Sydney.

Above all Eugene's is Bronte's local gem. It is also far better than it's neighbour Three Blue Ducks. If you're deciding between the two, I strongly suggest heading to Eugene's. It's better service, better food and way better priced!

A lovely quaint cafe filled with vibrant energy on a Sunday morning. Coffee was lovely with nice crema and the milk temperature a tad under desired but overall a good cup. As it is with weekend breakfast in this part of the town, a long wait time is expected but compared to fellow cafes in the area, it seemed much longer at 50 mins from the time of order to receiving the plates. But taking into account rather shorter time to get a table (10mins instead of the usual 30mins), I guess it kinda matches up although my state of hunger was pushing it to turning 'hangry' so be prepared to wait a bit longer and you'll be all right. Food was surprisingly good. Ordered chorizo, kale, poached egg with quinoa fritter. Good quality ingredients, brownie points for that! Eggs bit overdone but I actually prefer it that way so was perfect. Friendly and efficient service by the floor staff. Noise gets loud as it doesn't travel out. I would come back but maybe on a weekday. 3.5 stars.

Good food but portion is rather small. The guys I went with still felt a bit hungry after having the mains (they have average male's appetite). Staffs are friendly and it's not far from the beach. Will be great if the portion is bigger.

This is one of those places that you should venture to as its a gem. Located in Bronte but far enough away from the bustle of the beachfront, Eugene's has got it right. From the decor to the amazing food, you won't be disappointed.
I nestled into my bench seat mid morning and the place was busy but not over the top.
As I had done my research on this place prior to coming I knew I would select the Avo Smash with feta, mint and lime. Served atop crispy sourdough, this was impeccable. There was a very healthy amount of the smashed avo and it was so fresh and tasty.
I sat reading the paper for a while longer before moving off and being a very satisfied customer. Well worth a visit.

What an excellent experience! Great service, tasty food, nice coffee. Travelled from Randwick to get breakfast here on the basis of a good Zomato rating and definitely not disappointed. I had the Pannu Kakku for something a bit different from the usual breakfast fare, it was delightful, I especially appreciated that the poached eggs actually tasted like eggs and not vinegar (I'm looking at you Three Blue Ducks), which nobody else in the Eastern Suburbs seems to understand. My breakfast partner had the pancakes, not really my thing for breakfast but very well done, soft and buttery and the toppings were sweet and flavour filled. We had perfect coffees sitting on the table within 5 minutes of ordering. I was starting to get a bit burned driving around to highly rated places but this one has restored my faith in Zomato's opinions. Definitely worth the high rating, worth the drive and worth a repeat visit for me.

Cute little cafe in Bronte with a bit of seating on the sidewalk. The dishes are a nice twist on traditional breakfast items (fritters, polenta, eggs benni, etc...). They have a nice selection of salads and rolls to pick from at the counter and the service is quite quick. I would recommend for anyone looking to get away from the busy brunch crowds, but still wishing to eat trendy and delicious brunch cuisine :)

Simple looking cafe but with an interesting / different menu. I wasn't feeling super adventurous so opted for my favourite breakfast dish, avo & toast. This dish was done well with organic sourdough. The added mint and lime took the avo to the next level. My partner ordered the mushroom and polenta breakfast salad & I immediately had order envy. I tried a few bites and this dish was beautifully presented and packed full of flavour. We left very satisfied!

We accidentally stumbled upon this gem while looking for a place that still serves breakfast after 2 pm in the area. I had the corn fritters with chorizo and my husband chose the omlette from the special board. The portions were more than generous and everything tasted amazing. The service was friendly and they had no problem substituting the blue cheese in the omlette with feta. We'll definitely visit this place again.

Eugene's was an accidental discovery but an excellent accident. It's a dog friendly neighbourhood cafe teaming with locals. As you walk in, the decor is a little bit rustic and with little bottles of baby blooms and a large chalkboard of specials on the wall.

We tried the eggs benedict and the corn dog. Eggs benedict had a bit of a twist as it was served with Serrano ham rather than bacon. I thought it was a lovely touch and it was served with a generous helping of hollandaise. Eggs were just marginally overcooked.

I really enjoyed the corn dog. It had bits and pieces of exciting things such as chorizo, guacamole, wilted kale and corn fritters. They used a authentic chorizo and I really enjoyed the wilted Kale and guacamole that went very well together to cut out the saltiness of the chorizo. Corn fritters seemed a little bit over-fried as it was a dark brown. Poached eggs were well done.

I had an almond milk cappucino and I felt the coffee beans used had a bit of a sour aftertaste to it, perhaps it was under-roasted. Staff were polite but service was a bit spotty as we had to find our own seats, ask for our own menus and our waitress forgot to give us cutlery. It's still a lovely neighbourhood cafe but here's hoping a few minor improvements will elevate the breakfast experience here.

I was in Sydney recently with my partner and of course I had a list of cafe's to visit.
Eugene's was one of them.
My partner ordered the avocado smash with bacon and poached eggs. He said it was delicious. Eggs perfectly cooked, avo smash perfect. I had the gluten free buckwheat pancakes!!!
These were to die for.... The best pancakes I've ever had. I didn't want to try anywhere else after being here I just wanted to come back every morning for pancakes!!! If you are travelling to Sydney on a holiday Eugene's pancakes are a MUST! I will be back on my next visit.

This charming cafe with art deco pieces and stunning wooden floors is a local favourite and very welcoming of families. The space inside is not huge however there is seating on the pavement and a couple of highchairs to keep busy toddlers contained. Eugene’s is perfectly positioned for parents just near a playground and grass area on the corner of Arden and Macpherson streets.

Friends have been raving about the food here, so we decided it would be the ideal spot for a extended family brunch one Sunday morning. Whilst we waited for the large table inside, the little ones had a ball in the playground and had burnt off plenty of energy before sitting down to brunch. The colouring provided was a hit with the girls and kept them happy and occupied throughout the meal.

The kids menu consists of toasted cheese sandwich or scrambled eggs on toast ($8). We ordered on of each and both were delicious. The babycinos were also a hit, served in a piccolo glass with a side of marshmallow. The wait was worth it when we received our food. Highlights for the table were the buckwheat pancakes served with cinnamon ricotta ($17); the avo smash on sourdough ($16); and the salad plate which was chosen from those on display ($17). The Five Senses coffee was strong and robust and gave us an extra kick in our step to start the day.

Top Place to grab a feed. This place is a little slice of heaven in the eastern suburbs. It's been my local since it open. Service is always great, food is always high quality. I recommend the bacon/egg roll $7 worth the try. Just remember if its busy service will slow, but not stop they will get to you just chill, and enjoy going out to a cafe not every thing has to "I want now".

I had the special breakfast pumpkin pie - do yourself a favour - if they have it ORDER IT! It was amazingly delicious 😋 The olive tapenade on top was the sour to the sweet of the pumpkin - so well balanced! The fresh mint and rocket salad was the bitter - perfect flavour balance. I cannot recommend this higher - favourite pie I think ice ever had. I joined the clean plate club 😂
