Loved the breaky menu..my hipsters fritters were to die for!!!
Great coffee and consistently delicious and exciting food. One of the best cafes in the east!
Offt this café gives me vibes! I love the openness of the space, the understated decor and the hospitality of the staff. What about the food you ask? Outstanding! Hero dish for me was the Kung Fu Chia, the flavours just worked so well together and it wasn't overly sweet so you can enjoy it any time of the day. Also, I have no idea how but Eugene's makes the best freakin' pancakes! I've never had pancakes so light and fluffy before - both sweet (the pancakes) and savoury (gravlax blini).

Love this cute little cafe. Delicious fresh healthy food, we ordered House cured beetroot gravlax with poached eggs, salmon roe on buckwheat blini and Organic buckwheat & buttermilk pancakes, strawberry compote and enjoyed both. Their coffee is also fantastic, you’ll find me here for their ice coffee throughout summer.
Enjoyed a delicious, colourful, and healthy brunch spread at Bronte’s charming Eugene’s cafe with the quirkily named Kung Fu Chia (coconut chia and tapioca pudding paw paw, pineapple, passionfruit and almonds), Eggs Kosciuszko (poached eggs with smoked Snowy River trout on rye with hollandaise with salmon caviar and heirloom cherry tomato salad), Super-Kale-Rific green juice (kale, lemon, agave and jalapeño) and strawberry and tarragon soda, with a side of Double Roasters coffees. The wonderful food is equally matched by the sunny service.
The food here was super delicious and they also have a great menu with plenty of options. Our favourite dish was the smashed avo, definitely try it! The staff was also super friendly and the service was quick.
Great variety on the menu and the food is awersome . I had the the veal rissoles and my partner had the green salad with trout, both dishes were delicious and filling . We definitely will be back.
Some realise nice food with mostly good quality ingredients. The flavours were a bit overdone and this cool vibed place could benefit from simplifying some of the flavours, less salad dressing, more lightly fried corn fritters, etc. will be back, but would love a bit more subtlety in some dishes.
For me it's always exciting to find a place serving really good and tasty salad. I ordered the one with quinoa, cauliflower and stuff, and I even added grilled chicken and poached eggs on top. I have to say it tastes like heaven! I couldn't remember that I had any salad in my life tasted as good as that.
Eugene's is an absolute gem! The interior is gorgeous! Not like so many cafes around that lack soul and follow a prescribed formula - this place is a true original. But it doesn't stop with the decor - the food is fresh and creative. I had the green salad and it was delish! Coffee was bang on... Will be back to try everthing else!
Eugene's at Bronte 🌊
My friend and I went today to experience what others has experienced here. We have noticed Eugene's at Bronte bad the best coffee, brownies and egg benedict.
Its true when you experienced it. I could see people non stop coming to get take away coffee 👌🏼
Price was reasonable and the portion was big enough for my tummy to easily filled. Hipsters Fritters and Magic Mushroom were our favourite for (now); wanted to try the infamous pancake but no more room. Should try next time and def be back soon!

Just down the road from Three Blue Ducks, in the opposite direction of Bronte Beach, is a lesser-known, hidden gem. Eugene’s still has the same focus on high quality, seasonal produce that Three Blue Ducks does, yet you won’t require a highly strategic game plan to get a table, nor the same amount of cashola.
Eugene’s breakfast game is strong. I’ve had the hipster fritters, which means I now vote Greens, wear plaid and am growing a beard. LOLs aside, the patties of quinoa, feta and zucchini, served with la boqueria chorizo, poached eggs, guacamole, kale and chamoy, were quite delicious. The Double Roasters coffee is also on point.
With a ceiling rose, marble tables and sconce lights, the place is a study in Art Deco style. It’s also incredibly small, meaning it’s cosy and you sit intimately close to strangers. If you intend on discussing over breakfast the details for a jewellery heist or Tim Worner-style affair, probably best you find somewhere else. On a hot summer’s day, you’re going to want to hope you’ve worn Rexona. Although the breeze coming through the front bi-fold doors might save you.
Don’t leave before raiding the cabinet of take-home salads, cakes, lasagne, quiches and pies. All very gourmet. Oh and if you’re wondering, like I was, Eugene is a real life person.
I had the special breakfast pumpkin pie - do yourself a favour - if they have it ORDER IT! It was amazingly delicious 😋 The olive tapenade on top was the sour to the sweet of the pumpkin - so well balanced! The fresh mint and rocket salad was the bitter - perfect flavour balance.
I cannot recommend this higher - favourite pie I think ice ever had. I joined the clean plate club 😂
Love this place. This is my "go to" workday cafe. Great coffee, great food. Everything I tried was delicious and freshly made. The staff are so quick and friendly and really look after their regular customers by giving them personalized service and memorizing their orders. Love a bit of banter with the friendly awesome girls too. The cafe has loyalty cards as well which is nice.
Great coffee and food. Try their toasted chicken sandwich too. Yummy
Recently enjoyed a delicious, colourful, and healthy brunch spread at Bronte’s charming Eugene’s cafe with the quirkily named Kung Fu Chia (coconut chia and tapioca pudding paw paw, pineapple, passionfruit and almonds), Eggs Kosciuszko (poached eggs with smoked Snowy River trout on rye with hollandaise with salmon caviar and heirloom cherry tomato salad), Super-Kale-Rific green juice (kale, lemon, agave and jalapeño) and strawberry and tarragon soda, with a side of Double Roasters coffees. We had breakfast and coffees/hot chocolates here this morning and it was fantastic.
The porridge is sensational, and so was the black rice pudding.
Staff were also very friendly and helpful.
Will be back for sure!
Best sticky chai brew in Sydney - honestly haven't found an equivalent in all the cafes I've been to here. I find the staff very friendly.
Great cafe with a nice relaxed vibe. Coffee is double roasters full and depth. The zucchini fritters were delightful with a surprising hint of cardomom.
The cafe that all our delivery drivers fight over because they serve the best coffee and food in Bronte. We love your work Eugene.
