Lunched at The Possum Shed at Westerway, about an hour or so out of Hobart, near Mt Field National Park, on New Year's Day. Great setting - you can eat inside or outside in the garden with the Tyenna River bubbling alongside. My companions shared an enormous Aussie Burger (hold the pineapple) and declared it excellent, especially appreciating the monster beef patty and home-made tomato chutney/relish. I had possibly the best BLT ever made - hot crispy crust on the bun, a generous portion of crispy but not overcooked bacon and tasty mustardy mayo to keep it all moist and juicy. When inter-galactic travel gets under way, the aliens will be making the trip to Earth just to have a BLT at The Possum Shed. We followed up with Devonshire Tea, comprising fresh home-made scones, home-made raspberry jam, and freshly whipped cream. The burger and BLT were served piping hot fresh from the stove and the service was friendly and efficient. Looking for a fabulous lunch and have a couple of hours to spare? Go there, you won't be disappointed.
Nice out of the way place meaning a lovely drive there and wonderful food and service when you get there. Thank you ladies, we will be back.
The roasted veggie salad was to die for!! Beautiful outdoor setting aswell. Highly recommend for sure!!�
