Fantastic local restaurant, food is inventive and excellent quality, very reasonable prices especially lunch specials...love those fried oysters! Staff work hard and are polite and efficient, a great spot!

This is probably one of the best Sushi/Sashimi places in Sydney.
The fish is fresh and is on par with those I had in Tsukiji Fish Market in Japan. Their tempura is also very good.

The bad reviews I read about this place is mainly about rude service. I have been here on 3 occasions and I was never treated rudely. I find their service to be excellent on all the 3 occasions. The waitresses were extremely friendly and always have a smile on them. It was on a Saturday night and the place was quite crowded this recent visit.

We went as a party of eight with a baby and a dog. When we arrived 10 minutes before the appointment time, our reserved table was ready, including a baby chair! The food came out at a reasonable rate after we ordered.

I would go to this restaurant more often if I were not staying 1.5 hrs away.
5 stars for food and service.

Although more expensive than some Japanese restaurants, you are definitely getting quality for your buck at kisuke!
Would recommend getting: the grilled King fish collar, the sashimi and the premium wagyu beef sukiyaki set.

Outstanding!
These are among the best dishes I have had outside of Japan.
Of special mention -
- Nasu Dengaku (Grilled eggplant with miso),
- Soft shell crab with spicy salt,
- Grilled scallops with 'Kisuke' sauce.
Even the Miso soup is delicious.

Great work, Kisuke Restaurant.

Had the sashimi sushi set which was pretty good. the rolls was pretty nice and the sashimi pieces was fresh and quite tasty.

Service was very nice and staff very friendly

The owner's customer service was very professional - Not like welcoming vibe of a family restaurant but more likely Japanese commercial business type. Factorial, Listening, Precisely suggesting - I tried sashimi plate for trial and I was very satisfied. I will try chef special next time.

What a delight little restaurant! It was the best sushi I have ever had, except when I was in Japan. It has the best cut, thick and smooth fish on top of the succulent sushi rice, and awesome soy sauce, what more do you want?

The chef special sushi set is so good in its own way. White fish can also be very tasty. The dishes at kisuke are of very solid quality despite missing a bit wow factor.

Washoku Lovers now has quite a few restaurants, and as staff we think it’s important that we visit our restaurants regularly and keep up to date with their specials menus. A dinner here and there keeps our tummies full and morale up! Last week we headed to Kisuke for seafood and fresh fruity desserts.

Kisuke is a great casual or fine dining restaurant depending on what you order. We recommend picking from the specials menu as it’s a little bit unusual and adventurous. The outdoor seating is beautiful at night so head there for a romantic date!

My family are regulars at this very pleasant restaurant. The food, especially the seafood,, is beautifully fresh and firm but it just melts in the mouth and their tempura is extraordinary. They have a great value 3 course menu and a very good blackboard selection.
An impressive selection of beers and sake top it off.
Unlike some others I have never had any reason to complain about the service which I find polite and attentive
