Review No Ordinary Cafe - Willoughby

Good service, sit out back in the court yard with your dog or inside with. The kids as there is a play area, wifi and books for all ages inside. Sunday breakfast of pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, museli with yoghurt and berry compote, eggs Benedict with spinayand mushrooms, 2 large coffees and a kids iced chocolate was $55. Food was good. Museli a bit pricey for what it was. Good bacon. Eggs perfect.

Relaxing place to chill, free WiFi, books to read, some toys for kids to keep them busy. They have breakfast and lunch options.

One of the big reasons why we go back in this cafe is how warm they treat their customers. Aside from their awesome meal selections, their customer service is one of the best (or the best in the area-i must say). Staff are always smiling and they remember you even if you only visited once. Kudos to their super hero kid- Matt. He is by far the star of this cafe. He is very accommodating and keeps a keen eye to all of our needs. He is the best. A must try cafe shop for those who will visit the Willoughby area.

Had lunch there yesterday and the service was wonderful, with the waitress helping me put my daughter in her highchair (three available) and later on helping me lift the pram down the steps to the carpark. Really impressed. We had a BLAT and bruschetta and both were very nice. The bill was just over $22 for two people. They brought water to the table without even asking, which is excellent. The cafe is airy and bright and also has a little play area in the back for children, and space if you want your pram at the table. It would also be very nice without children as there is lots of room. Plenty of parking behind the cafe near Dan Murphy's.

Stopped in for Saturday lunch with a coupon from the entertainment book. Comfy atmosphere, menu with all the basic standards augmented with a few not so standard specials. Good wait staff, attentive without being intrusive. We will eat there again...

Nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Delicious fresh food. Nice choice on menu. Happy to substitute. Happy to make No Ordinary Cafe a regular haunt. Easy parking at back.

Tend to drop in when i'm after a more filling meal than sushi or sandwiches, and they do not disappoint. Tried the Moroccan Chicken burger and most of the specials, and served with a side of chips, they're a really nice meal A smile would be nice, but hey... :)

Coffee isn't bad but the new menu is great. The staff are very warm and attentive, especially the young girl that works on weekends (Yumi). My lil nephew thinks she makes the best chocolate milkshakes!

Very different experience from some of the others here; maybe owners have changed recently. This is definitely no trendy hipster cafe, but its our closest cafe. We have been for breakfast twice; both times the servings were large, service was prompt, and coffee was good. I've gotten the scrambled egg and chorizo both both times, and was surprised to see an entire chorizo and what must be two scrambled eggs come out on my plate.

Pitiful portions for the price they charge. $15.90 for an entree size pasta dish and $4.90 for a small cup size juice - I can't emphasis enough how stingy the portions were! Food wasn't particularly great or something to write home about. No wonder they aren't busy despite being in a good location.

Businesses are built on repeat business. Do the 'new' owners here (i think they've been running this place for a year and a half now) realize this? Since taking over their small chips are now only 1/4 of the size they use to be. A ham cheese and tomato sandwich had only one thin slice of ham on it. The Turkish toast i got this morning was only half buttered so I was eating alot of dry toast after paying $4.5 takeaway!!!! However I cannot fault their excellent cappuccino a small takeaway one cost $3.5. Will never buy food from here again only coffee

Used to frequent here quite a bit years ago. Came for brekky recently and realized they have changed hands. A look at the menu found me smiling as (from memory) they have not changed (much).

Got their old school spinach/shroom and ham/cheese omelettes, both came out quite fluffy with the right ratio of ingredients vs eggs, tasty too. Service is quick and friendly by the new (korean?) owners. Might try their korean bulgogi burger (specials) on next visit.

Pretty average coffee considering the above average cost.
$4.50 for a large (I thought North Sydney was a ripoff...)
Ankle biter central, not a relaxing cafe by any means.

A great child-friendly cafe where parents can congregate at the back near the toy corner and relax. The coffee is excellent and the food is generous and tasty.

Overall it was a nice neighbourhood cafe with friendly waiters, and easy parking at the front.

Not kid friendly. Abusive staff. Avoid. This place used to be quite kid friendly but not anymore.

My wife just came home in tears after been abused by one of their staff members because she was changing the baby somewhere she shouldn't according to them. No change tables are provided so if you have baby, be prepared to have to change them outside the café in the pram.
The staff made a huge deal about this and my wife left the café humiliated. We won't be going back despite being regulars there for years.
shame.

Cannot even get a coffee order correct. The staff look unkempt and are extremely incompetent at doing their job in a professional manner.
The food is not even worth the trouble. The chef tries but it still remains bland.
The positioning of the cafe is great. New staff new menu desperately needed for improvement.
Try chiquitas cafe just around the corner. It is so much better for you stomach and wallet.

Don't go here. They're right...it is no ordinary cafe. Ordinary would be a huge improvement. We just went in for coffees, but they couldn't even get a very easy coffee order right. And when the coffees actually did arrive (at different times) they were tepid and non-descript. Couldn't tell if mine was a coffee, hot chocolate, mocha or just milk and some sort of flavouring. The staff were also scurrying around, cleaning up as if it were the end of service and all the patrons had left. They were sweeping around the tables, taking out trash and not being quiet about it, yelling to each other as they did so. There were new patrons walking in and they were a few hours from closing yet. Plus, our table was dirty and no one bothered to wipe it down the entire time we were there. Wouldn't go back, plenty of better cafes in the area.

Great value - absolutely fantastic. It can get a bit warm inside with the open kitchen, there is a nice out door area at the back
