A great centre with plenty of history. The history of Banjo Patterson’s Waltzing Matilda. The information centre is also located in the centre with a selection of local gifts and souvenirs. The cafe caters for gluten free and almond milk. Even though they were busy when we were there the service was very good.

Great spot to visit. Would've like a bit more on Banjo Patterson but the information surrounding the song and the history of the Winton area was very good. Allow a couple of hours to fully enjoy

What a wonderful experience to go through this amazing new centre. The displays are fantastic and there's so much to see. We wondered at our leisure and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Coffee and a toastie at the Tuckerbox cafe which was lovely. Coffee is great and the girls serving are so friendly and happy. Worn of their feet and still smiling. A must do in Winton 👍👍👍👍👍

We went through the centre a few years ago, before it burnt down. Very happy with the new centre, we think it is much better. It is also much easier to read the descriptions of each exhibit, better lighting, larger print. Well done Winton.

Lovely building with wifi and air conditioning, which is greatly appreciated. A.B Patterson has a beautiful story and it's well worth a visit.

The rebuilt Waltzing Matilda Centre is a fitting tribute to one of Australia’s legends, AB Patterson. The centre also includes some historical war items, coal powered steam train and carriage, as well as artefacts from the early 1900’s. The toilets are awesome, and the coffee shop is a treat. Admission might feel a bit expensive but hey this is the outback and I’m glad to be supporting the local community.
