First time visiting and this place was fully booked out. We ordered the 1.Beef special pho 2. Special Vermicelli 3. Crispy skin chicken tomato rice. I tend to have a few particular dishes used as a measuring stick of how a restaurant fairs in terms of taste. For me, Vietnamese food its all about the Pho!! The Pho here was excellent with its authentic broth flavours and is right up there (Ie Bankstown's pho) in terms of quality. The beef brisket levelled this dish up as it was soft, tender and outright tasty.
The Special vermicelli was also fresh and the combination works very well with the spring rolls, filled pork, charcoal pork and lemon grass beef.
Lastly, the crispy skin chicken was cooked very well with its paper thin and crispy skin. Both the rice and chicken did not have an oily taste which too many other places do. Yummy tomato rice as it should be with a great balance of the chicken and salads.
Overall, the complexity of these dishes while it may seem simple is far from it. I can tell the chefs have alot of experience and it shows from the great tasting authentic flavours. Hats off to them.
The swift and polite service from staff, the quickness of dishes coming out and the decor made it a delightful experience.
I was definitely impressed and will be back to try more Vietnamese cuisine. 2 thumbs up and a must if your in the area.
Easily the best Vietnamese restaurant I've been to. In fact one of my favourite eat-out places. They're always fast, efficient and consistent. And the Satay Chicken is a must!
Delicious! Food was insanely generous, huge portions for the $20-$25 per main. Entrees between $8-12 per dish. Really great table service and fast turnaround from order to receiving the meals. Will be back 100%.
Mylan is a Wollongong favourite – it offers generous, delicious food, reasonable prices, a buzzy dining room and quick service. It's great for a casual and inexpensive lunch or a celebratory dinner. It's one of the best in Wollongong and outstanding value.
Amazing food. Great, friendly, quick service. Would recommend the tom yum to anyone who asks! Entree of crab claws and vietnamese pancake was tasty, though the accompanying dipping sauces didn't compliment them very well. For mains the plum duck which had tender meat and crispy skin with a perfect tangy plum sauce was rich and flavourful. As I mentioned the tom yum, which was incredible, clear broth packed with flavours, crunchy bean sprouts, shitakke and celery added texture and taste. Dessert was tapioca with stewed banana and that was the perfect finisher, sweet but not overtly so, definitely coming back to eat again. Definitely a share-with-friends type place, portions are large.
My ONLY issue was the hot chocolate. Made with boiled water instead of milk. Good amount of froth but really, dont cheap out on a hot chocolate! Go full milk or go home 😜
