Review Levendi - Wollongong

Enjoyed breakfast here this morning. Bacon and egg roll was packed, delicious and good value (11 dollars which I feel is a great price). Breakfast burrito was good also. Coffee was good. Very quick service. There is no real dine-in at this venue but there are tables located outside around this shop. Would eat here again. Lower rating based on seating and no table service.

Stunning location looking over the harbour. Great menu, reasonably priced. COVID-19 friendly. Fish and Chips were delicious and good coffee! Friendly service team.

Nice view and a hefty serving. The staff was nice too. Chips were crispy and battered fish is well seasoned.

Second time I've eaten here. Food is so fresh and tasty. I'm not a Wollongong local, but I'll be sure to be coming past for a Souvlaki each time I come through town!

Generous portions. Meal set was definitely worth it. The restaurant overlooked the harbour, while the birds overlooked my food.

The BEST crumbed calamari I think I've ever had! The calamari was tender and not at all chewy. The hake fish was lightly battered... I mean lightly. And was also crispy, not soggy at all from being deep fried. My daughter also got a fruit salad which she loved... had blueberries and strawberries plus watermelon and other fruit. It's a popular place but we managed to get a seat outside in the sun.

Great location with nice views. Very popular. Food portion was great, as was the quality with their fried fish and chips. We felt very satisfied. Though they were very busy it didn't take too long with the food.

Best Barramundi fish &chips take away in Wollongong But 3 weeks after, wasn't that special. Sunday 5pm. Chips were reheated and burned, soggy and i oretry sure the fish wasn't Barramundi, super dry and very white......mmmmm such a disappointment

The best place for fish and chips in Wollongong, my grilled barramundi was just awesome with addition of delicious lemon and herb sauce, never seen this one before. The place is busy, as I assume people know where to get their best food there, but the staff were smiling friendly and very efficient. Recommended 100%.

Ordered 2 servings of Snapper and chips and what we got was grilled fish with green sauce over it and looked like it had been oven steamed not grilled and still looked half raw. Took back to counter and had replaced with battered " so called snapper" only to cut into it and to find it half raw again . Definitely disappointed.

Terrible service! Very rude staff. Waited over an hour for our food! One of the staff ladies told me that I just have to wait like everyone else. I went up to check once more how long it will be and the two staff at the Back whispered to each other that they weren't even half way there. I then told the lady that if they had told me that the wait would be more than an hour I could have gone somewhere else as I have small kids who were hungry. Food wasn't wonderful either. Not very happy!

Good coffee. My suggestion is to have an external coffee cart during extreme busy periods. Often not worth waiting 40 mins for a single coffee during these periods.It would also relieve pressure of staff inside. Normal times service is great.

Headed down to LeVendi for approx 5pm on a lovely Saturday afternoon... a bit of a wait to order, which is to be expected... so worth the wait though... we got the pack for 2 (sorry I can;t remember what it was called)... but was filled with awesome seafood and chips... will definitely be back and will bring friends next time... staff were busy but friendly.

This is a great place to pick up a coffee or a quick seafood or fish meal - including some wonderful seafood salads. Be there on Saturday 4 November from 9.00 to 10.30am for some fabulous chOir-tly LOUD festival a cappella performances. All on the lawn next to Le Vendi.

It was our first time here. We drove all the way from Sydney and We loved this place! Really tasty gourmet style fish and chips with lots of variety to choose from. Staff were friendly and so down to earth and your coffees were amazing too!! It was the perfect location right on the beach. Will definitely come all the way again!

Had breakfast at Levendi this morning and took two kids there. Very family friendly with amenities and kids playground close by! Food was amazing and location ��friendly staff and great service!! Coming back for their gelato next time! �

On our visiting list every visit from the UK. Not disappointed this time either. Best burger and view by a mile. Also lucky enough to get a photo of a black oyster catcher, which just happened to walk by at the right time, so win win for me.

Frequently visit for coffee and the occasional breaky or lunch the service is always friendly can be busy at times but well worth it for the excellent views of the harbour.

Disappointed. Came for dinner at 6.30pm to find staff had shut up for the night. Your hours on facebook state closes at 8.30pm. Annoyed to find it shut 2 hours early!

We go all the time in the summer on weekends when's it's to hot at home we go to the coast in the afternoon to cool down have dinner and relax then drive home again. It's the best fish and chips so fresh you mite wait awhile but you know you a getting beautiful food when you do get it. Thanku guys for your service on those very hot days. ����

Ordered the barramundi pack - massive serving, probably enough for 2 ppl to share! Great value-for-money at $16. Nice crunchy batter with soft, moist fish. Delish! Great view too.

Ordered grilled salmon and chips with salad and a S&P Squid side. The squid was tasteless and rubbery, the salad came in a cheap container full of rocket and no decent dressing.<br/>The Salmon tasted like it was oven baked instead of grilled, and for a small piece I found it extremely over priced.

The view and positioning of the restaurant is really beautiful, the seating is quite and comfy, but when it comes to the food quality, the “oven baked” mexican wrap came in really cold, the chicken wasn’t heated properly and lacks taste, left me with a bad stomach. The hot chocolate leaves the tongue dry and lacks taste as well. 3/5 only for the location of the place and the nice staff working there.

Very nice staff and delicious food. Chips were well salted, and both battered and grilled fish were cooked well. We came here on Good Friday there was a line out the door but we still received our food in a reasonable timeframe. A little pricey if you want to get fish and chips regularly but as a treat it is highly recommended.

Located on the waterfront this great little cafe/ takeaway offers a great range of options.<br/>From coffee, ice cream, to burgers, salad and seafood.<br/>Quick friendly service. Well priced.<br/>Freshly cooked pieces of tender, juicy calamari and chips, wedge of fresh lemon.<br/>Interesting salad options.<br/>Plenty of clean outdoor seating.<br/>View can’t be beaten. Seagulls are annoying but luckily for me Superman (aka 4year old boy at the next to me), shooed them away!<br/>Perfect place for a delicious casual, dinner.

This place has the best take away calamari and chips ! We love to stop here, grab some takeaway and then sit by the water. The shops it's self is pretty so there is a little bit of a wait.

Have not had a bad experience yet. The food is always great, with a variety offered. Only negative is sometimes the wait is quite long during peak time.

As a huge seafood lover, I was excited to try the seafood on offer at Le Vendi. The grilled barramundi was marinated in lemon and herb and tasted beautiful, the fish was grilled perfectly. The pumpkin and walnut salad was flavoursome and picked a punch! I definitely would recommend both and will be coming back here :). A great location for a quick beach meal.

Best Coffee. Me and my partner went in to grab a quick coffee before dinner. We ordered and as we were waiting the barista joked and said this will be the best coffee ever! We laughed and walked away readh to test his claim. He was wrong. It wasn't rhe best coffee it was the most amazing drink i have had! He should be getting awards for that coffee.

I was just about to put some well deserved praise online for our favourite wollongong weekend destination ,when i saw EssaeEll comment! Everyone has freedom of speech but defamation is serious stuff. Defamation occurs when a untrue statement is made that tends to diminish someones reputation and may be subject to hatred or ridicule through slander and can have serious legal consequences! My family and myself have been loyal happy customers for many years . I can in fact tell you that there is no truth in your accusations . The fish cocktails are cut and made on premises from New zealand Hoki and lightly battered and are a very generous portion. The calamari hood is cut and lightly crumbed and are delicious . The burgers are too die for and the staff are always helpful, considering they are always busy . Yes people are coming back for real fish and the calamari cause they know real food when they taste it!

Worst fish and chips I've ever had.. So, a couple of things.. The fish was dry. The chips weren't cooked. The fish cocktails were obviously deep frozen and came in a box - and since when do fish cocktails come shaped like a spring roll?<br/><br/>The absolute worst though was the fact that I ordered the calamari box. Why was it bad? It didn't have a single piece of squid in the box. The "calamari" is deep fried seafood extender and was absolutely disgusting. Just blatant false advertising.<br/><br/>The location is great, but the food is terrible. Avoid.

Shuffled order receipt. My husband & I took our visitor from QLD for a drive down to the Woollongong today. We stopped @Levendi for a quick lunch juat around 1pm. We placed order for only 4 x fish pack & two bottle of Coke. We asked young lady @register how long to wait for the meal order, she told us 15mins. As we understood it was quite busy & many customers were around place. We then waited patiently opposit the counter where we could observe . The lady & an young man were assisting packing the order. We then noticed they were shuffling around orders. Thought they may knew what they doing in orders, we waited & waited 30 mins passed we were staving, wonder how long the food is going to be ready. I was a bit unhappy about the waiting period & started winging with my sisterinlaw, a customer next to me saw my receipt number was few ahead of hers, she had seemed lost patient as I was. We all chated the way they had handled service isn't right. About another 5mins past they called the lady next to me to collect the order which she was way after my order. How was that happened? Earlyier as I was watching the two young people the way they were handling the order was not efficient & shuffling around receipts, it was very unfare & bad customer service I ever encounted. I counfronted the lady behind counter, she said because others were different order to mine. I don't think that's the right answer. I was very disappointed with their service, even later the young lady finally brought my meals out she said sorry for the waiting, it's not good enogh because I had lost my appetite after I made my complaint." was my order receipt got lost"

Fathers day at Levendi. Went there for Father's Day, I've been before but this time the food was quite bland myself having the grilled salmon with chips salad and dill sauce, no flavor, my husband had the fish burger it was very dry my son's lamb pita was not edible the fish and chips that my other two boys was ok but the chips overcooked. They were quite constant with customers but I must say I've been to busier with better quality food.

Just moved down to Wollongong from NZ and took my visiting family there for lunch at first i thought it was just another kiosk at the beach. My Jesus was i wrong we ended up having lunch there, coffee and gelato we didn't even move from the spot for a whole day. Visiting family was impressed, view was spectacular and food was amazing! Strongly recommend Levendi! This is what NZ needs back home a kiosk with the works!

Pricey4 nothing. Went there staff really good n hamburger was nice but salmon and dory n barramundi n chips n prawns n salad had no flavor. I hope they can do better or just sell hamburgers.

Perfect!. Living in sydney eastern suburbs, there are a vast array of Fish and Chips establishments around. Happen to come across Levendi for a first time to a visit to Wollongong. We enjoyed a variety of Grilled and battered seafood and might i say, BEST YET. Even Sydney cant do it right. Fish was perfect, not oily/greasy at all. HIghly Recommended for quality takeaway fish and chips... and did i forget to mention, Great Value! I will be back to try out your burgers!

Poor quality everything. Have given Levendi several attempts, but everything from pre-prepared food to freshly made, it's ordinary. No wow factor and I think they just take the location for granted. Levendi's own response to a review here comparing themselves to KFC and McDonalds highlights the quality they are aiming for.

Nasty over cooked fish and chips; joke 'tiger prawn' ... Really isn't that hard to do better people, especially when everything comes prepacked anyway!

Demanding and having the audacity to abuse our staff for a refund is beyond fair, especially when this is clearly NOT our fault. <br/><br/>Being on these premises and PUBLIC AREAS, many of our customers are aware of the wild life around them. It is common sense that seagulls at the beach are a nuisance and to leave food unattended or in free air, is ludicrous.<br/><br/>Additionally, we clearly state on every receipt/docket AND inside our shop to be aware of seagulls and NOT to feed them. We have witnessed homemade picnic lunches, Mcdonalds, KFC, subway etc swooped by the gulls every day and they don't discriminate. <br/><br/>PLEASE NOTE: Nobody can control the forces of nature. <br/><br/>We have a lot of respect for my employees and their behaviour. They are all aware of our customer service policy and definitely know not to be intentionally rude to our consumers. <br/>In fact, I spoke with with my distressed staff member and reviewed the current footage because they were on the verge of calling the police about your abrupt behaviour. <br/><br/>We're not begging for you to come back, we just wish you stated the truth rather than bad mouth absurd remarks that are out of our hands.<br/><br/>As for your QUOTE: "Abysmal hygiene standards" we have always passed the departments standards and have a great record of it... so adding fuel to the fire within your review is just plain nasty and not very fair.<br/><br/>Once again we are sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident. Seriously DO NOT eat this food.. Had a few hours free in Wollongong so went down to the foreshore and ordered a big breakfast. Took my meal to the outdoor tables adjacent to the serving counter and was just getting started when a seagull landed on my plate and took off with a sausage. No warning signs at the counter or in the outdoor area. Counter staff and manager refused to provide a replacement meal or a refund and expected me to continue eating their now contaminated food. God knows how they prepare food, there's seagulls around all the time. Abysmal hygiene standards and customer service. A formal complaint to the Department of Health is being prepared to get this place closed down under it's present management. Stay right away.

Great seafood and coffee. Travelled to Levendi Wolongong, from Catherine Fields. We ordered fish n chips, calamari and scallops...top quality food and boy did we devour our It. Great tasting and fresh as. Coffee was nice and tasty. Strongly recommend this place to everyone, also to all the family and friends in catherine field and bringelly this is the place to be. Reasonale price, infact cheaper then the places i ve been too in bondi and cronulla. It is a busy place but i might say it was worth the wait.

What ever happend to good fish n'chips?. A very bad experience with the food served. Ordered fish n chip for my visiting family from overseas and was embarrassed with the quality of the food. The fish was dry, the potato scollops were so over cooked that there was hardly any potato and just crusty batter. The chip were also slightly raw. Will never eat there again.

It's okay. The location is fantastic, but be prepared to wait and wait. Staff are too busy to be friendly. Coffee was good.

Had lunch here with my boyfriend on a sunny friday. Great casual spot by the beach. Good for people watching too. Massive yummy burgers, chips were nice but needed more salt (which we asked to be added and made them even better). Topped off by a caramel milkshake and stroll up to the light house. I'd go here again. :)

Life much?. Reading negative reviews and especially the last few, I can honestly say that these people have absolutely no leg to stand on with their comments regarding this place. My friends and I have a monthly ritual, lack of a better word, where on the first Sunday of every month we ride down to the gong rain, hail or shine. We've been doing so for the past 2 and a half years. It's because of Levendi's calamari as to why we do so. The only negative thing I can say with Levendi is the long line we always encounter. Its a shame that there are a few people in this world who get pleasure by posting negative comment for some reason that they only know. Regardless, this wont stop us from riding down every month and especially wont stop me from ordering my calamari. So Levendi, ignore the negative comments from people who know as much about quality food as Burt Newton does performing open heart surgery out in the middle of a desert in Saudi Arabia. Hmmm... I can feel a free feed coming along... Hint Hint. See you in two weeks.

Food is fresh, tasteless and revolting. Staff argue and don 't listen to customers.If you want coffee and food at the same time you have to tell them. Battered fish has juice running out of it.Young staff cant take orders.Staff nit happy if you send food back.We travelled a way to have lunch here .Disappointing.

Apart from the service being very average (girl asked if she could help us and then turned and spoke to a colleague before we could answer) we were also not happy with the food. The chips we had ordered were horrible as the chicken salt tasted like it had been 'watered' down with flour! Couldn't eat them, they were thrown in the bin. They also served our drinks 15 mins after our food. Was very disappointed.

There were 8 of us and had a variety of the menu and would only recommend<br/>The fish. Oil was burnt and spoiled the chips and prawn cutlets and calarmari left a bad after taste. Will never eat there again :(

One of my favourite fish and chips spots. I had the battered barramundi while my boyfriend had the grilled and both were delicious. Chips are good without being best ever (chicken salt does help!) Stand out was the calamari - delicious. Sampled the fish cocktails on another visit (not as good as the barra but not bad) and the seafood sticks (yum!). Wish there was somewhere in Sydney as good as this.

Dripping fat. Ordered salt and pepper calmari and a potato scallop. The calmari was burnt and all was dripping so much oil it oozed out of the food, the box was saturated top and bottom.<br/>When I but into the scallop oil oozed onto my clothes.

1st visit my fiance and I had the harbour pack and was just meh. The fish seemed bland and the batter was stale and not crunchy but just hard. Expensive and lack of quality.<br/><br/>2nd visit I went there on my own and bought the chilli chicken burger. Tasted like that had dropped it on the floor. And I mean it tasted like it was dirty. Maybe the lettuce wasn't washed. Expensive for a burger of dirt.<br/><br/>Location is good and the staff are nice.

Nice place next to the beach. It's a very busy place with seating outside, next the the small beach. Only had the burger which was big and filling but also tasted good. They have people queing up so they must be doing something right!!

This place is fantastic! With an open kitchen you can see that they don't cut any corners in regards to their food. Everything is cooked fresh to order and it really is fresh seafood, not prepackaged. The calamari is absolutely delicious & absolutely fresh (not reconstituted like a previous reviewer had written. Perhaps they don't know that fresh calamari isn't suppose to be chewy like the prepackaged variety?). I can't fault a single item on their menu, their yoghurts, salads, gelato and coffee are all fantastic. Great, friendly service with a beautiful view!

!!!!!!!. I've heard nothing but good comments regarding Levendi at Wollongong Harbour. My partner and I decided to make the drive down one weekend and were amazed by what Levendi had to offer. We purchased a seafood pack and a beef burger, and later continued to enjoy the day with coffee and gelato. The seafood was to die for. We noticed an open kitchen when we were ordering and watched how the chefs battered the fish from scratch, per order. It's no wonder the taste was exquisite. The chips were beautiful, their oil didn't smell or leave a horrible feeling/after taste AT ALL! :) Burgers were HUGE and filling too. <br/>My FAVOURITE was the Calamari... we polished them off in no time... it was soooo TENDER! So good, that I had to ask where they got it from. One of the workers kindly replied that they cut and cook the calamari from scratch! She also said that they extract the "string" that you often bite into with other calamari.... Impressive. <br/>We later enjoyed the water views, walking through Belmore basin with a cafe latte and a short black... i'm pretty sure they use Vittoria coffee, which is a very popular blend in Sydney CBD. Instead of purchasing a poweraide, we decided to spend the same amount on gelato. They had a colourful range, but "baklava" gelato caught my eye, so i decided to give it a try. WOW. Sensational. <br/>I just wish we had a place like this in Sydney. They would attract respectful customers, that understand taste and value. PLEASE BRING LEVENDI TO SYDNEY!!! I'm craving the calamari already.

The fish and chips taste and look like they came out of a packet, were also very oily. The texture of the calamari was odd - almost mushy, like it was reconstituted. The serving size of the gelato was very miserly considering the price. Only positive is the location.

Levendi. I agree there no denying the burgers are fantastic .Quality ingredients healthy and generous! Fish and chips anre made and battered to order, You can see them doing it ! wonderful place great coffee and gelato on premises too. Try their baklava gelato its to die for ! No wonder the won best takeaway shop!! And no wonder theres always a line up!

Wonderful burgers. We tried the Levendi burger (with roast capsicum, eggplant, fetta, and grilled chicken, and the chili chicken burger (with sweet chili and piri piri sauces and grilled chicken, and both were served on great big tasty buns. Both were generous serves, and full of flavour. Amongst the best chicken burgers we'd had in a long time. The fish and chips looked good, so we'll have to try them next time. The setting, overlooking Wollongong Harbour, adds to enjoyment, too.

Poor mass produced fish and chips. Everything has obviously came out of a box. The only thing that is positive about it is its perfect location

For a convenient and hassle-free option, I do not mind coming here again with friends the next time we drop by Wollongong. After all, you can take it away to save yourselves from the prying birds...

It is only a pavilion with an outdoor seating area. The queues are there, especially in the warmer months, whether by choice or just coming out from the woodwork at Belmore Basin at Wollongong Harbour. On first impressions, this could be the scene at any major surf beach in Australia, the need to have chips and seafood on paper. The customers at LeVendi's can be beach goers, tourists, families and locals. The harbour is not big but just right. You can see the lighthouses.  You can see Port Kembla with its steel works in the distance to the right.  Oh yes, and then there are the hills, or rather escarpment, looking down on the coastal plains where Wollongong has anchored in. And not to forget, those ever present container ships that park themselves on the ocean's horizon , apparently forever, but actually queuing to enter the Harbour at nearby Port Kembla. The sandy beaches of North Gong, Towradgi and Corrimal beckon as your eyes look towards Sydney side, but Sydney is far away, at leas
