Nice pub/restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was great! We happen to be there for quiz night which was really well run and a good atmosphere created. They were also serving $15 Gyros which were really tasty and the smoked paprika fries were SENSATIONAL! They lose a star for the limited beer selection on tap and cans, but overall it was great and we'll be back.

We came here for a small celebration without having been here before. It’s the only place open nearby on a Friday afternoon. What a lucky find as we had a wonderful time! Staff were great and super helpful. Venue is lovely and the food was excellent- we will come back for more moussaka!

Greek food, is always a little oily and charred. The meat platter was okay, beef a little chewy. Cocktail was not brilliant. beer very good.

Couldn't speak higher of this bar. Amazing food and staff, they are all so friendly. The atmosphere is wonderful for either drinks, and would make for a great date spot. The bar is also dog friendly, so we often come here with the pooch. Amazing Greek styled food, and you must try the tap beer!

Friendly and genuine staff. This was my second visit when in town as I wanted to come back for the chicken skewers and salad which are so good!

Every meal from the Greek menu we were served was delicious and plentiful. The staff were very helpful and their service was amazing as was the Greek musicians .Will certainly be back.

The service left somewhat to be desired. The staff even had a blue in front of us! The food was generally nice, but we were unfortunately served raw chicken skewers. I wouldn't recommend it.

Stumbled across the Phoenix the other night when walking home. Even though I was in gym gear, they welcomed me in for a drink. The people are so nice I returned the next day! Lovely bar - thanks for a fun evening :) <3

I have been to the Phoenix a few times. This time I ordered the Spanikopita, a glass of red wine and a glass of ice. The Spanikopita was underwhelming, mostly pastry, four tiny 3cm rolls for $21. The waiter forgot my wine and when I finally got his eye, he forgot my ice. My previous experiences have been enjoyable, this experience was a real disappointment. Kerrie

The food here is delicious. Beautifully presented and so fresh. We got a gorgeous Greek salad, haloumi and beef skewers. Totally hit the spot. Service was good. I find it a bit strange however that they don't do table service. It would definitely be appreciated!

Usually i don't give 4.5 but many of my friends went in Phoenix and i decided to go with 2 friends of mine and everything(almost)was so nice almost because the service need more. The food was outstanding real taste of Greece Moussaka so tasty, octopus so tender, saganaki cheese so nice with honey and sesame and everything on the table was so delicious really good try Phoenix i come back again.

This is a modern take and somewhat a copy of Melbourne's Hellenic Republic (food wise).<br/>Great atmosphere and a very good range of beers.<br/>Service was slow but it was 9.00pm when we got there and perhaps they don't have table service, which we got due to the local I was with "maybe".<br/>We had Greek salad that was really all tomatoes and nothing more, dips were great and some really nice pita bread with Keftedies which were nice but firm and some wonderful spinach triangles (it was not spanakopita) which the menu stated, but they were superb. <br/>Overall mixed feeling about the place, I want to say it was great because the place is very cool, but if I'm honest it was OK, it was Sunday and 9.00pm. I'll give them another go when I'm back.

We pre ordered the lamb, dry, over cooked took over 1.5hrs to come out to the table. The service was horrendous the manager was so disrespectful and actually couldn't give 2 S's that the food was taking that long to come out. Around our table no one finished their meals it's an absolute shame, this restaurant could be fantastic but as a paddo local I certainly won't be recommending or going back

Outstanding meal.<br/>We had a wonderful lunch here. Everything was first rate. The octopus and white bait and dips were a lovely way to start. The prawn saganaki was the best I have ever had. The vegetarian moussaka was unforgettably good. Friendly, helpful service. Great advice on the wine list. Had a beautiful Greek white. We will be back. Incredibly good value. One of my new favourite restaurants in Sydney. Lovely atmosphere. A winner.

“Can I start you ladies off with a drink?” is perhaps the finest sentence that can be uttered in the English language, particularly after a five kilometre walk. The Wednesday early-evening weather was characteristically beautiful ‘Sydney summer’, and the stroll from the Sydney city centre over to the Eastern suburb of Woollahra was filled with tree-lined avenues and gorgeous terraces. Having walked up an appetite and thirst, we stepped into the modern yet understated sleek interior of The Phoenix Hotel to be greeted with a smile and an invitation to sit wherever we liked.

The Phoenix rises from the ashes with a delicious Yeeros, solid food menu and beautifully designed bar. <br/><br/>The Phoenix is located in the rather luscious suburb of Woolhara, just a stone’s throw away from the City Centre. Miss C and I decided to walk, after all it was a beautiful summer’s afternoon and neither of us had much of an appetite after spending the day doing paperwork. The walk itself was lovely, going through Oxford Street then down to Moore Park, but it was tough going in heels.  Despite my pleas, we somehow didn’t stop for a much needed Negroni ...

Rising through the ashes of the old Phoenix Hotel, Pheonix is putting an upmarket spin on Hellenic food in Woollahra. With a contemporary Mediterranean menu ranging from small bites to larger filling mains and a killer cocktail list we were very eager to pop in.

The Phoenix lives up to its name - rising up from the ashes of the previous occupants here who left over a year ago. It is very appropriately described as having "Classic Mediterranean Fare". As you walk in at the front you can see the open kitchen and you can smell the wonderful food being cooked. As we entered, the bar area was to the left and the restaurant to the right past the kitchen.

Great atmosphere, the food was great and the service was good, overall all I had a great experience, I will definitely be coming back !!! :)

The beautiful tile pattern on the walls is memorizing - new and modern, it's the place to take a date. I enjoyed the shared plates - my fav was def baby octopus!! Glad I found this place. Very pleased with the experience I had here. Phoenix has been revived and has already flourished in the community with its modern Greek architecture - presenting the produce as part of the fit out. The food was of perfect portions, and was pleasantly accompanied by a an array of cocktails on the menu. (Yes I had many!)<br/>Overall great, will be coming back.

Recently opened the Phoenix is no longer a saggy old<br/>Pub but an amazing bar with an incredible fit out. The cocktail list is out of control good and the menu is perfect if you're craving a Greek feast. The octopus is tender, haloumi is the perfect balance of salty sweet and the dips are made in house and you can tell because once you start you won't be able to stop. If you're in the area or a local, pop in and say hi, grab a drink and some food you have yourself a great evening. Will be back!
