Food, atmosphere, ambiance, service - seriously on point. Probably the best place in Woollahra.
Amazing dinner, amazing atmosphere & friendly staff. You really get looked after. Had my birthday there last night with a large group and not one bad bit of feedback. Everything was delicious and everyone very happy. My new favourite place!
The food here is delicious. Beautifully presented and so fresh. We got a gorgeous Greek salad, haloumi and beef skewers. Totally hit the spot. Service was good. I find it a bit strange however that they don't do table service. It would definitely be appreciated!
Usually i don't give 4.5 but many of my friends went in Phoenix and i decided to go with 2 friends of mine and everything(almost)was so nice almost because the service need more. The food was outstanding real taste of Greece Moussaka so tasty, octopus so tender, saganaki cheese so nice with honey and sesame and everything on the table was so delicious really good try Phoenix i come back again.
This is a modern take and somewhat a copy of Melbourne's Hellenic Republic (food wise).
Great atmosphere and a very good range of beers.
Service was slow but it was 9.00pm when we got there and perhaps they don't have table service, which we got due to the local I was with "maybe".
We had Greek salad that was really all tomatoes and nothing more, dips were great and some really nice pita bread with Keftedies which were nice but firm and some wonderful spinach triangles (it was not spanakopita) which the menu stated, but they were superb.
Overall mixed feeling about the place, I want to say it was great because the place is very cool, but if I'm honest it was OK, it was Sunday and 9.00pm. I'll give them another go when I'm back.
Outstanding meal.
We had a wonderful lunch here. Everything was first rate. The octopus and white bait and dips were a lovely way to start. The prawn saganaki was the best I have ever had. The vegetarian moussaka was unforgettably good. Friendly, helpful service. Great advice on the wine list. Had a beautiful Greek white. We will be back. Incredibly good value. One of my new favourite restaurants in Sydney. Lovely atmosphere. A winner.

The Wednesday early-evening weather was characteristically beautiful ‘Sydney summer’, and the stroll from the Sydney city centre over to the Eastern suburb of Woollahra was filled with tree-lined avenues and gorgeous terraces. Having walked up an appetite and thirst, we stepped into the modern yet understated sleek interior of The Phoenix Hotel to be greeted with a smile and an invitation to sit wherever we liked.

The Phoenix is located in the rather luscious suburb of Woolhara, just a stone’s throw away from the City Centre. Miss C and I decided to walk, after all it was a beautiful summer’s afternoon and neither of us had much of an appetite after spending the day doing paperwork. The walk itself was lovely, going through Oxford Street then down to Moore Park, but it was tough going in heels. Despite my pleas, we somehow didn’t stop for a much needed Negroni ...
Rising through the ashes of the old Phoenix Hotel, Pheonix is putting an upmarket spin on Hellenic food in Woollahra. With a contemporary Mediterranean menu ranging from small bites to larger filling mains and a killer cocktail list we were very eager to pop in.

The Phoenix lives up to its name - rising up from the ashes of the previous occupants here who left over a year ago. It is very appropriately described as having "Classic Mediterranean Fare". As you walk in at the front you can see the open kitchen and you can smell the wonderful food being cooked. As we entered, the bar area was to the left and the restaurant to the right past the kitchen.

Hidden in the hills of Woollahra , phoenix has revamped an iconic hotel. The beautiful tile pattern on the walls is memorizing - new and modern, it's the place to take a date. I enjoyed the shared plates - my fav was def baby octopus!! Glad I found this place. It's Definetly my new date night stop

Very pleased with the experience I had here. Phoenix has been revived and has already flourished in the community with its modern Greek architecture - presenting the produce as part of the fit out. The food was of perfect portions, and was pleasantly accompanied by a an array of cocktails on the menu. (Yes I had many!)
Overall great, will be coming back.

We happen to be there for quiz night which was really well run and a good atmosphere created.
They were also serving $15 Gyros which were really tasty and the smoked paprika fries were SENSATIONAL!
They lose a star for the limited beer selection on tap and cans, but overall it was great and we'll be back.
We came here for a small celebration without having been here before. It’s the only place open nearby on a Friday afternoon. What a lucky find as we had a wonderful time! Staff were great and super helpful. Venue is lovely and the food was excellent- we will come back for more moussaka!

Couldn't speak higher of this bar. Amazing food and staff, they are all so friendly. The atmosphere is wonderful for either drinks, and would make for a great date spot. The bar is also dog friendly, so we often come here with the pooch. Amazing Greek styled food, and you must try the tap beer!
Friendly and genuine staff. This was my second visit when in town as I wanted to come back for the chicken skewers and salad which are so good!
