Wonderful open, cool atmosphere to escape the heat. The Caesar salad with chicken was substantial and tasty. The pulled pork sandwich was a bit mushy and drenched in a rather tasty, very wet sauce. A bit slow, it did take more than 25 minutes to fulfill our order.
The restaurant is affordable but delicious. We tried the soup of the day (mushroom soup) and crocodile ribs. The soup looks okay but yummy, it would not too salty.
One of the signature food is crocodile ribs 鱷魚肉排, it is tasty and healthy, I can eat it’s soft bone easily, like something between fish meat and chicken meat. If it could provide sauce options that would be great.
Staff are friendly as well.
Went to have dinner with friends last night. Food was great and we were very full. We ordered beef ribs and seafood fettuccine, shared chicken wings. A bit too much for us. The only downside was that the food really took long time robbery ready. So be prepared if you are starving, maybe get a few drinks first.
Had dinner at Gecko's on the 30th of December 2016 and it was a great experience. I say experience without meaning to overstate the restaurant in any way, but rather to emphasise the joviality amongst the staff who work there. We were greeted by a tall young man with an excellent moustache who set the tone for our night.
For dinner we ordered the "Firebomb" pizza and an accompanying pasta dish, both of which were delicious. The house sangria was also very good and a great addition to the meal.
So impressed by the mans passion for service I decided to thank him. He remarked that he was just a trainee. I'd say a trainee who would value-add to any workplace he ends up in. Thanks mate 👍
Great meals, great service and very reasonably priced given the location. I would definitely eat there again!
i just don't understand those people complaining about the food being overpriced. I mean come on! It's in the middle of no where, to purchase some frozen food from the only IGA next door and cook at your hotel cost more than $30 dollars! The food quality in Gecko's Cafe is not bad, some options have slightly small serves, but most of them descent cuz we have been eating there for lunch for 4 days and tried pretty much everything on the menu. Remember, you r in the outback, a bag of chips cost u $5 dollars.
Well, I don't know what that last guy was bitch'n about. This place is awesome. We had an Outback pizza that had emu, kangaroo, and a whole range if tasty stuff on it. The base was perfect, the food came out in a timely manner, the service was great. Love it.
Just staying a few nights in Uluru and have eaten here twice. Had a pasta and steak sandwich. Both were great. Companions on the trip also enjoyed their meals.
Reasonable value and staff were great. Gave us cold fries the first time but promptly corrected that.
