Review Estia - Adelaide

Aditi R
During the weekend, we went there for dinner. We were three of us. We thought of ordering more, however, 3 dishes were quite heavy for us. I believe 3 choices for 3 people is good enough and filling. The liver was quite heavy with every bite. I liked the taste but after having it felt it to be too oily which didn’t feel right( one star less due to this). Further , we also ordered a crematia cake which was fantastic-sweet but Not too sweet! Lastly, the staffs were nice, friendly, and helpful.

Best Lamb in Adelaide that’s for sure! Tried Estia because a few Greek friends recommended it. Definitely lives up to its reputation. Lamb was so succulent. Dips & sauces were well-balanced & complimented the meat dishes well. The calamari was cooked perfectly and was paired with chickpea salad which was a great touch to the flavours! Will be back for sure!

An excellent night out for the group of friends or family with great food and vibes. Food was delicious, servings were generous, Seafood was fresh. Our group of 7 was well fed. There was a good variety of drinks and cocktails Service was attentive and quick. Our waiter, Ethan, knew menu well and gave great recommendations. Pricing: $30-40 per head not including drinks What to order: Dips - taramosalata, pita bread (each serve is enough for 3-4 people) Mezedakia - Saganaki pan fried cheese, Tis skaras Oktapodi chargrilled octopus, chargrilled scallops. For meats - chargrilled chicken, chargrilled lamb fillet, traditional pork sausage, keftedes Overall, it was a great dining experience and I would come back again.

Absolutely flat out on mother's Day yet they accommodated for my elderly mother in law not to wait standing. Food was served so fast you would think we had pre-ordered. Quality and flavour was not compromised with polite courteous staff. Well done 👍

Lunch at @estiahenleybeach: good location and good service, but the food was only okay. I think the starters were better than the mains. The food is not bad, just not the best Greek food in Adelaide (also according to our Greek friends 😜😜). . Saganaki: always a favourite! This was nicely done. . A combination of 5 dips: excellent, but you can't really go wrong with dips 😜. The bread was good too. . A giant platter of many different items: great option for sharing! The calamari was decent - although some were a bit chewy. The dolmathes were nice. The grilled prawns were excellent, and the chicken and pork were okay, but the lamb was a bit overcooked - they were a bit tough. . Chargrilled eggplant, potato, capsicum, zucchini and fresh herbs, layered and oven baked in tomato: good flavours, nicely done!

Someone has gotten too big for their boots. This had to be the most ugliest food I’ve ever eaten. Dry cold chips, minuscule ‘king’ prawns in tomato water and calamari literally just dipped in flour. Thank god I didn’t bring my extended family. I would’ve been so embarrassed for recommending the ‘award winning’ Estia 🤢

We were lucky enough to be there to watch the sun go down while eating fresh and delicious food. To top things off when the lovely waiter found out it was my birthday he brought over a free dessert slice 😍 which was to die for ❤ highly recommended this restaurant

Some of the best Greek food you will eat in Adelaide We booked a table for two. Friendly welcome and escorted to the table. Cold water was served and our order taken. We shared lamb, calamari, wedges and pita bread A glass of bubbly red and a beer and to finish off Greek coffee. Service was excellent. Just under $90 for the lot Very popular spot. Service was excellent

Last night my family including children were here for dinner and I must say the food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. The waitress and waiter were both very attentive and made us feel very welcomed. Would recommend this place to my friends. Thank you for such a pleasant night. We all left very full.

Cannot praise the staff enough! Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere! They had extra toys for my little dude to play with (he already had his own but new ones are always better)! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

The food is delicious and I have to say the best tasting tenderest lamb I’ve ever had. Service was friendly and prompt and we didn’t have to wait long to eat. Very impressed!

I'm Kind Of A Big Dill.....
My partner and family are Greek and is one of my favourite cuisines so our expectations are high. First experience was romantic, dinner for two, was fantastic! Friendly, knowledgable, attentive staff, delighted with the food. Couldn't fault. Second time with family and it was busier....service still good however disappointed some hot dishes served came out cold. They were happy for us to take left overs....maybe go back?

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while now and have heard a number of great things about Estia. It has been awarded a number of accolades including the Best European Restaurant in SA in 2015, 2017, 2019.

The place was super busy when I was there, so it was quite loud and squishy, so the vibes and seating facilities didn’t impress me too much. I felt like they could invest in doing up the place considering the reputation this place has.

The menu suggests to order a couple of full dishes and a few small ones, so that you can sample a bit of everything. I ordered a variety of plates, but I have to say my favourite ones were the Garithes Saganaki prawns (king prawns pan cooked in tomato and feta with garlic, chilli and fresh mint) and the Tis Skaras Amaki (lamb filled marinated in olive oil, lemon and selected spices - chargrilled).

The chargrilled octopus wasn’t my favourite and was quite chewy, so will give that a miss next time. The Loukoumathes wasn’t the nicest dessert as it was quite dense. Also, some of the food needed more salt! Generally the staff were very accommodating although we felt a bit pushed to place our order quicker than we would have liked.

Overall the food is great and not overly pricey. Definitely recommend this place!

Great to go to a restaurant and be sure your interstate friends would experience a meal and service with the "wow" factor - Estia is such a destination.

Estia would be somewhere I’d refer to as an Adelaide institution. It’s always been good and has always been popular and I’ve never once been disappointed. Great Greek in a great location, worth the journey.

Estia is a Henley Square institution. It was a Wednesday night and Estia was extremely busy which was a good sign. The service was excellent - even though we were sitting outside we were not neglected and when a slightly more sheltered table became vacant they offered to move us. The food, as expected, was generous and of a high standard. The value for money is excellent.
What's Cooking Good Looking
Ordinary ordinary. Can’t believe it is so popular. Location I suspect. Expensive and if that’s good Greek I’ll eat my hat. Lima beans ugh, domaldes ugh

Kate
Amazing food. Came on a very busy and very hot night but we were still looked after. The lamb was absolutely perfect, and it’s great that you get a choice out of two serving sizes for most meals. Can’t wait to visit and come here again.
Crab Cakes
Eating at Estia was a fantastic experience. We ordered the banquet which featured a number of dishes, including dips, salad, seafood and meats. Every dish was fantastic and I didn’t leave feeling uncomfortably full. Wait staff were excellent and very accommodating.
Tige
We have been to Estia many times over the years and the food never disappoints. The banquet is amazing value and there was more than enough to eat for everyone. We can’t go past a serve of loukoumades when we visit, they are delicious. Great services and friendly staff. Book ahead for summer because it’s popular with everyone.
Scrumptious Eats
Outstanding service and everything we ordered was superb! Our favourites were the lamb (best lamb we’ve ever had) and the saganaki (pan cooked cheese with olive oil and lemon) was delicious beyond description! We would highly recommended this restaurant.
_foodiej
To be fair, I was a bit disappointed with the portion sizes and the price we had to pay. For a platter this size which as you can see is just filled with couscous is a bit disappointing, leaving very little meat to feed the hungry. Despite all that, I did like the flavours and variety of what was ordered, and would come back to try other dishes but the platter.
Sangev Subramaniam
I loved my experience at Estia. The staff go above & beyond to please customers. Very attentive & friendly. The food was excellent. Lamb fillet was my favourite. We ordered 3 small dishes to share amongst 2 of us & that was plenty. Perfect location, just at Henley Square.
Gee
Yes! This busy Greek restaurant down on the beach was amazing! We started with a few dips and bread. The first delight was the garlic scallops which were cooked perfectly. The king prawns were char grilled to perfection and the meat was plump and juicy. Salt and pepper calamari was divine and came with a home made tartare. Overall, a great dining experience!

I have been visiting this restaurant for over 15 years and it is always the same high level, incredibly tasty food with consistently friendly service every time. I’m not going to make any one recommendation on what to eat because I am pretty sure I have eaten it all over the years. Always a fan of the lamb, chicken and prawns here though. Great location to sit outside with a glass of wine and order as you go, then take a lazy beachside walk along Henley afterwards.

We were around western area and craved for a greek food so I started to search a greek restaurant around and found this place. We had our lunch here. We ordered Grilled Calamari BBQ, Tis Skaras Kotopoulo, Safanaki Cheese and pita bread with Melizanosalata dipping.
The Grilled Calamari is not on the menu but on special board. It was a big calamari served with chickpea and some salad. It was so delicious..i can't believe it I wrote this and still remember the taste and it make me hungry.
Tis Skaras Kotopoulo also beautiful..it served with cous cous and salad. All dishes are just perfect taste balance. And the price is decent. Service is okay..I do like the tall guy who served us..polite, friendly and helpful. We will comeback to try another menu
Chef On The Run!!
Full marks for service!!
Very friendly staff!!
Fresh food,good flavours,generous lamb portion!!
Do try scallops,they are mouthmelting.
Skordalia could have been better.

Went there with a couple of friends. It was hot to sit outside but we survived with the heat. Food was great. The downside was we had waited for a long time for our chargrilled chicken and beef and everyone was so full and tired so we just took away. No biggie. Will come back.

Visited Henley square on Wednesday night it was a great way to spend this warm summers night.. Stumbled upon estia they were pumping but we're told a opening for a table would be half an hour so we decided to stroll along the pier and soak up the surroundings. We received a friendly call from Sarah the manager that our table was ready.. We started with a mythos and some Dips and saganaki.. Which were delicious.. I really loved the tarama.. And our friendly waiter suggested that we share a few dishes.. So we had the lamb, king prawns and zucchini croquets.. With a Greek salad.. Everything was fantastic, the service, food and drink.. Considering they were so busy I was surprised by the efficiency and speed of service and the timing of food.. People take notes... Will definitely come back .. Thanks estia and our friendly waiter Taco. 😊

With the seaside location perfectly complimenting its authentic Greek cuisine, Estia is the type of place you'll want to bring all your friends to try it all. From an extensive list of menu items, the must-haves include: calamari, lamb fillet and the chilli olives.
SmolGal
The food is very average and flavourless, and honestly this sounds wanky but it's not authentic Greek food.
The dolmades were tasteless, and my boyfriend ordered spanokopita which is his favourite dish (it's pretty hard to get wrong) and it was bland. Usually it is quite salty from the feta and fresh and tasty with dill throughout the filling.
The meat moussaka didn't taste very fresh.
I wish it was better because the view of the sunset is amazing and Greek food is my favourite to both eat and cook, but this was totally lack-luster average.
Josh Crawford
One of our favourite places to eat at, the staff are amazing and you get a real sense of encouragement to embrace their cuisine. The food I cannot fault, it's all cook to perfection. I never thought such simple dishes can taste so good. Wine list is A grade, all of the best Australian wines included with some special dedication to the Barossa.
I work offshore and this is the first place I come when I get home.

Ive been going here for a decade now and im still loving the food. Its beautiful authentic greek food with lots of flavour. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed as youd expect for a beach side restaurant. Theres a wood fire in the centre of the room which is so cosy in the winters, emphasising its modest and welcoming atmosphere. Its always loud with laughing and chattering families since they tend to fill out - so if youre sensetive to noise maybe come in an off hour.
Their meats are seasoned and cooked perfectly. Their savoury dishes are served on beds of couscous and decorated with salad. They make their own dips and have the best taramasolata and tzatziki, i can never skip it. Their calamari is just lightly floured and fried, perfectly in balance with their fresh calamari - which the owner would go catch on his boat, in the truely greek way.
And finally, their desserts. Their loukoumades come in a pool of spiced syrupy honey, but are so delicate and light. The rest of their selection is great too, they have wonderful cream kataifi too.
Basically you can order just about anything and know its going to be done well.

I have often passed this establishment during regular visits to Henley Square and have wanting to make a time to eat there. Appearing consistently busy demonstrates to me it's popularity and being rarely free of time have neglected to make time.I decided that I would book a table on Saturday for dinner with the family to finally experience it first hand.

The efficiency of the booking process it the first great sign. An SMS received withing 10 seconds of calling to confirm the booking and another the day before to confirm.

On arrival a very friendly greeting (this place welcomes you and it appears the staff are actually happy to have you - great sign). We are seated and given menus, the specials board is highlighted and given a chance to get comfortable. Shortly after the offer of drinks (everything as expected so far) and then the chance to listen to answers of any questions we have regarding the food on offer and some suggestions.

When ordering they were extremely flexible. A tasting plate of entrees or a share platter of Dips is suggested - we utilise the dips options which we have served with warm Pitta bread - delicious - We had an eight year old, so a "make up plate" of what he would like is happily arranged, My wife can't decide on a choice of 2 options, so they offer to proved a combination of both, I make use of the King George Whiting on special and the last member chooses the Chicken Livers (rare to find at many places)

All the food was brilliant and can say we were all delighted with our choices - A bottle of Fox Creek Short Row Shiraz (at a reasonable price) and because it was my birthday a complimentary Ouzo on ice.

The service was a stand out with 2 sharing the service and both exceptional at their job. Friendly, efficient and extremly helpful. Will gladly return

Nice food, great service. The staff made you feel welcome and we were well looked after. We had the banquet, nice variety of food. The chicken and lamb were particularly tasty
James Warner
The food wasn't too bad, but for what you pay I would rather go to Taverna and really get my money's worth. On the plus side, the chicken and lamb was amazing. Just wanted more on the plate. If you live in the area and you want Greek, then yeah why not. If you don't live in the area, then go somewhere closer.

We booked a table at the Estia as we had previously been there and knew the food atmosphere was great. It was my birthday so my family decided to go out, we got there on time everything was going well.

However when we got there they sat us next to the entrance of the toilets... It was very hard to eat our meal seeing people go in and out of the bathroom. As well as knowing we were paying the same price as everyone however had a horrible table.

On top of that the waitress was extremely pushy she said the specials menu so fast and was very unclear. It also felt like she was rushing us to order so we would get up and leave.

My mother requested as it was a special occasion, but the manager just shrugged and said that was all there was and didn't really care.

My Question is, should a 4.5 star restaurant with a solid reputation make people sit next to the toilets, pay good money and eat their meal?

Tim Hoile

Tim Hoile

Not even close to Yia Yia's! Was very keen to try this place but was disappointed. Service was lovely, location is beautiful, but the food was a letdown. Very lacking in flavour. We had the spanikopita, melinzanasalata, moussaka and potates. Potates were mushy, moussaka was oily and the spanikopita was salty. Perhaps not the best Greek restaurant for vegetarians?

Henley Beach is a nice place to be on a warm Adelaide evening, and Estia is perfectly situated right at the entrance.
Estia carries off the air of a casual, laidback beach restaurant and at the same time offers high class dining service. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive and professional with their service.
We ordered for dinner, pita bread with taramasalata (cod roe dip), melizanosalata (eggplant dip) and htipiti (feta, chilli, capsicum dip) as dips; sikoti (fried chicken liver); gigandes (lima beans) and tis skaras arnaki (chargrilled lamb).
The dips were all excellent with smooth creamy textures. I never usually enjoy melizano, but this time it carried the flavour of the eggplant well, the htipiti had a mild chilli kick which I enjoyed. It is difficult to get good taramasalata, although what I had at Estia was not the best I've had, it was flavourful and rich. The pita was served warm as it should be.
The chicken liver was a nicely cooked dish, although I would have preferred it with a little bit of cracked pepper.
The lima beans were cooked well and was an excellent lighter vegetarian counterpoint to the heavier meat dishes on the table.
The char grilled lamb as you would expect from a Greek restaurant was excellent, and the rice that accompanied it was okay.
After such a filling meal, we ordered a galaktoboureko (semolina filo dessert) to share. It surprised me when it was presented looking more like a danish. It had all the essential elements of a good galaktoboureko with the semolina custard having just the right density and texture and the filo pastry flavoured well with honey. The citrus syrup on top and the clove and cinnamon notes were a little strong for me, but my friend stated that he really enjoyed those flavours.
Overall, a very satisfying meal. The only thing missing was a wheelbarrow to take me to the car.

Recent dinner with party of 5. Sat outside on a nice night, quickly served & orders taken. Waiter made some suggestions on how much we should order to satisfy us all and he was spot on. Started with Dips and then followed up with a meat selection with salad. Food was very tasty, service was good. Highly recommended. If i had to nitpick , they could have waited a little longer between courses as was had not yet finished our dips before they bought out the main.

Best. Greek. Ever.
The food is always fresh and delicious! No heavy or stodgy Greek food here- always so light and authentic. Ticks all the boxes for us!
Hillbilly
Quite Nice over all .. Priced well and good quality food , very flavoursome.. The service was good and friendly also in a nice location .. Have to be a top pick for greek Cuisine .
Can't Be Bothered To Cook
Sitting outside, listening to the waves and watching the world go by while feasting on beautifully cooked stuffed calamari .... I hope this never comes off the specials board .... what's not to like?! Consistently well cooked Greek dishes - reliable, welcoming and yummy.

Summer lunches can be a bit noisy if outside as Henley Sq in the summer is filled with families including kids enjoying the water features ...... but if you want a little peace - indoors is cool and so is the wine 😊

What an excellent Boxing Day lunch venue. A table of twelve friends enjoying quality time together. The staff were great & the food superb. We will definitely be back next year.

We have just had dinner with the kids at Estia. The outdoor table at the edge of the restaurant was brilliant. We had amazing views of the sunset over the beach and could watch the kids splashing in the water feature. The food was outstanding, we had a range of vegetarian and meat dishes and even the kids loved the fish special. Our waitress was lovely, attentive and gave great advice on what to order!! An all round Super night with super food and super service and we will definitely come back next time we visit Adelaide.
Emily White
Great outdoor area, many delicious dishes! The lamb, however, was overcooked. The service was excellent, all staff were very friendly and attentive.

Estia is a celebration of great produce served simply. This day there were 7 of us so we started with the Saganaki to share which was served perfectly and straight from the grill to the table with a slice of lemon and some garnish. We ordered a bunch of mains to share which is the best way to eat at Estia, the mains come out on a large palter with a bed of rice that soaks up the juices from the mains. We ordered the calamari which was crispy on the outside and firm yet soft in the middle, the grilled prawns which were the highlight for me, cooked to perfection and very nicely seasoned with lemon, garlic and dill. The meatballs were tasty but not something i would go out of my way to order at any restaurant, Lamb back straps were seasoned very well with herbs and lemon and cooked and rested perfectly, I didn't eat any of the dolmades but had the conclusion of the table that they were also very good. A separate prawn dish served with tomato and fetta was also very nice and reminded me of a restaurant in Hersonisos by the sea. We shared the doughnut honey balls which are my favourite and a large slice of baklava which was sweet and spicy.

Each meal individually is very simple and tasty and if you are handy in the kitchen, something that can be replicated at home, however the draw card for me at Estia is the location on Henley square. The services is top shelf with one gentleman taking extra time to discuss current Greek affairs and history with the table behind us and the share style of eating, for a large group that enjoys a drink and pick at a delicious platter Estia is the place! The only fault i can find is that the chairs were like something from a torture house, although I am size challenged when it comes to small chairs. Overall cost for the 7 of us and 2 wines would have been around $280 which we thought was reasonable. Be sure to get down here on a warm Sunday afternoon, book first as they get busy quick!

check out my instagram @smithbeardco for a range of mens lifestyle products

Fresh and delicious! Great range of specials along with the standard menu. The crumbed and fried mozzarella was a favourite of the table along with the zucchini balls. Fish and prawns were fresh flavoursome and beautifully cooked. Definitely worth a visit!
Limonata&ciabatta
Never had a bad time at Estia, the service is generally pretty good, did have a waitress who was a little abrupt with us last time - not what we were expecting. But nothing to complain about food wise, always fresh and flavoursome and the banquets are perfect for groups. We love being able to taste little bits of everything, when I say little bits, nobody leaves the table empty!

FANTASTIC SERVICE!! CHILD FRIENDLY!! AMAZING FOOD!! All the waiting staff were attentive, friendly and patient! We were a group of 4 girls with a 5 yr old child all catching up after not seeing each other for a long time so we took quite a long time to order and were busy chatting but the waiting staff were so friendly, patient and helpful with the menu. Most restaurant staff that I have experienced are usually impatient, unattentive and rude in those circumstances. The staff were very accomodating to my friends young son and went out of their way to make sure he was ok and was being looked after. The food was perfect and I could not fault anything at all. Maybe the baklava was a tad too sweet but its baklava! We shared a couple of dishes like tzatziki dip, chilli olives, chargrilled prawns and octopus, calamari, croquettes, mozzarella balls and saganaki. All delicious! The calamari and octopus was cooked perfectly with a nice soft texture. For dessert we had coffee and baklava and another pastry cake (forgot the name) coffee was good and cakes delicious! Highly recommend! Will go back here many times! Friendly and relaxing place with amazing food. My photos don't do the place justice!

We ate here for the first time yesterday, we will definitely be coming back!
The service was great, even before we set foot in the venue, I received a text the day before to confirm the booking! The service was excellent on the day as well. And we all seemed to receive our food relatively fast. Everyone was very pleased with their meals. I had the saganaki and the chargrilled octopus which were both amazing! Can't wait to come back to try the whole menu!
ForkfullofLife
Mmm the perfect evening. Not only because of the amazing person that accompanied me, but also because of the spectacular food and great service we experienced. I have no complaints about Estia tonight. How amazingly tasty each dish was. We ordered five small dishes as is recommended for two people. Starting with the skordalia dip and pita, onto lamb meat balls, prawns, lima beans and the creamy, salty and lemony saganaki ( fried cheese) 😍
To top it all off the kataifi, one of the tastiest and most amazing desserts i have eaten! Wow!
Service was good but not too over the top.
Thanks and i will be back for sure next time to try the moussaka 😊

I took my wife for a Sunday lunch ,and it was delicious. We had the Char grilled Octopus,Prawns and Calamari, three full meals. It came on a platter with a salad. We also had Pita with Potato and Garlic. We had a orange juice and coke, All under $85,We highly recommend ,,,

The wife and I booked for Easter saturday, a night for the two of us. Waiter guided us to choose a range of things, then staggered as entree then as mains & followed by desert. Lovely pace of service, not too fast or two slow, and the entree/mains came with reasonable greens. Entree was dolmathes and zuchini dish, the mains prawn and lamb. It was all tasty but the memory for me lingers on the succulent lamb, the generous tasty prawns, and the Kataifi was divine! We shared the courses and left full but not gluttons. Nice drinks and pleasant, welcoming place that will be a place we come back too
Kristy
Food was amazing very tasty. Service was great as well nice & friendly. Will definitely return. Highly recommend the cheese with lemon as a starter 😊

Still consistently outstanding. Our lunch was of the usual high standard. The service was top shelf. Sarah the manager is one of the best. Good value for money.
Food Is Loved
I have always been a fan of Estia and recently returned for a casual lunch with a friend. We chose two mains, the goat from the specials menu and the garithes saganaki (prawns with tomato & feta) to share along with large greek salad. The highlight for me was the prawns, full of the flavours of tomato, dill and feta) which were complimented by the crispy fresh salad. Definitely a location i'll keep coming back to.
Onegreedygirl
Like most Greek restaurants, this food is over-priced. However unlike Greek food, the food here is very lacking in flavour and love.

Invest in a Greek friend with parents/grandparents that can cook and forget about Greek restaurants because they're usually pretty poor examples.
Shirani Shaz Williams
I'm a extremely harsh critic when it comes to Greek Food as I work in one of the finest Greek restaurants here in Adelaide.
This place however did stop me in my tracks, with the stunning Henley backdrop, A class service, greeted with a smile by its staff seated, and served by a dedicated waiter. I was thoroughly impressed.
The food also offered an assortment of incredible traditional dishes, and we made our selections, saganaki, house dips, Greek salad, chargrilled chicken on a bed of couscous was so flavour filled it was refreshing.
What a great way to spend your Sunday afternoon! Take advantage of the free parking under foodland and support this amazing local business!
The square renos will be complete soon so don't let this stop you from a amazing experience.

First time I've been to a Greek restaurant and this particular restaurant was amazing! We ordered entree (pita bread with some yoghurt dips), main meal (meat, seafood, wedges, salad) and dessert (organic walnut cake). I enjoyed all of them except for dessert. I guess I'm not used to eating walnut cake with goat milk cream in the middle. Customer service was great and the place is nice and clean. Depends on where you're sitting, you can enjoy viewing the beach from the restaurant.

The Greek food obsession is SO real when it comes to my date nights. My boyfriend and I love our Greek food, and although we don't like to stray from our favourite (Taverna Greek Psistaria) we don't mind trying out new places either. I'd heard about Estia from one of the girls at work so we decided to give it a go. We usually like ordering a salad and a mix of grilled meats at Greek restaurants which we always end up comparing to our favourite. At Estia, they recommend sharing smaller dishes called mezedakia, so we ordered a few which were served on lemon pilaf with a salad.

Wow! What a stunning Greek experience.. Great atmosphere.. Almost taverna style in a gorgeous old building on Henley Square.. Beautiful sea air. Food simple, great quality, very generous portions served meze (share) style...a great way to eat. Wine list incredibly comprehensive including a very interesting Greek selection.. Worth a try for an authentic food/wine matching! Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.. Nothing is too much trouble. Love coming here... Feels like home. Make it Estia for your next Greek fix.. Kali Orexi !

I went here for dinner with a group of 10, we ordered entree and mains. The saganaki cheese was beautiful, when the mains came out I was shocked by how big the poriton sizes were! not in a bad way- a good way! if you don't have a big appetite its probably a good idea to order a few starters then share a main. That way you can try all the traditional greek dishes.

delicious beach side food。i had the meat mousaka which was just divine。 i had the zucc and feta balls for a starter and they were fantastic。friendly service。good job😀
Laura
Awesome!! Delicious food made with love. The restaurant is really comfortable and has a great atmosphere. The menu is also really vegan-friendly.

We were lucky enough to have a fireside table on a freezing Wednesday night. The mezze was amazing, the service first class, and the wine fantastic.
Can't speak too highly of the barbecued octopus and lamb. The baklava we had for desert topped off a 5 star dining experience.

Came I'm for a beautiful lunch during the week.. such a nice atmosphere.. even though the construction is going on.. it was still quite pleasant outside.. the lamb was so tender and generous.. service was prompt and efficient.. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.. I may have the lamb too.. it was so good my mouth is watering thinking of it..

Such a great experience and atmosphere in this wonderful Greek restaurant! Celebrated my best friend's birthday there last night. We had a seafood platter and a meat platter to share! That was the best moussaka EVER! Friendly and charming service too! Would definitely recommend and I can't wait to come back for more!

Unfortunately this place has gone down in the past few years. I use to come here a lot but since I have come back it has been not pleasant to eat there. The calamari is very dry. If you want proper Greek food go to Kefi

Sat 23/5 Estia Henley Beach. We had lunch for my husbands 60th Birthday, last Saturday. The service was really fantastic- thanks Nic! We had the banquet for a group of 20. The food was awesome and plenty of it. It was such a lovely afternoon. Thanks so much. We will certainly visit them again.

Warm atmosphere, exquisite food and professional service.

Estia put on a magnificent experience! From the home made dips and melt-in-your-mouth saganaki (fried Greek cheese), to the perfectly grilled lamb and pork, the flavors and presentation of their food was the best I've had in Adelaide. Not to mention, the freshest garfish going around!

One of the waiters, Chris, made a custom dessert of Greek biscuit and ice cream. The staff here really go the extra mile.

All in all, this is one of the gems of Adelaide's west and highly recommended.

Love Estia. I think Estia has to be one of my favourite restaurants in Adelaide!
The customer service is just brilliant; the gentleman who served us was attentive and professional, explaining the specials and addressing any queries we had regarding the menu. Fantastic wine list showcasing great SA wines (Teusner 'The Empress' Riesling was lovely). Lastly, the food is fresh, tasty and good value for money. Would highly recommend the Kolokithi (cheese and spinach croquettes), sooo delicious and literally melt in your mouth - yum!

At last!!. A resturant in Adelaide who cares about their customer and making them happy. The food and service is what it is all about. Perhaps other restauranters in Adelaide should come here for a lesson.

What a great place. I'm quite surprised by the handful of negative reviews. I have always found the staff to be lovely and the food to be delicious. The lamb fillet dish is particularly amazing. It's well worth a visit; be sure to book ahead. An outdoor table on a warm evening will give you fab views of the square and the jetty.

Very disappointed!!. We went here after reading the good reviews on urbanspoon. The service was really bad, the tables next to us were told what the day specials were and they didn't tell us anything and they were unfriendly to us. The setting of the restaurant was good but it was ruined by crying/running and screaming children. We understand this is not the restaurant to blame for but in combination with the bad service it was not a good start. Then the dinner, the food came straight out of the freezer (reheated of course) and to our opinion way overpriced for the quality you get. And as Europeans who travelled a lot to Greece and love their kitchen we couldn't taste the nice greek flavours in the dishes. So in overall we wouldn't recommend this restaurant because there are way better and cheaper greek restaurants in Adelaide!

Faultless service and excellent food make this Henley gem an instant favourite.. Took my mother to Estia for a late n' lazy Sunday lunch today and we were not disappointed. Despite the half hour wait on a table (these guys were packed to the rafters, the brilliant weather bringing the droves to Henley Square) service was efficient, friendly and personalised, making you feel like you were dining at a friend's place. Certain Adelaide eateries could learn a thing or two from the staff at Estia! The food was fresh and full of flavour - not to mention plentiful - just the way Greek food should be. We had a trio of dips ($4 each or $16.90 for five), warm pita, saganaki, fish of the day (char-grilled tuna steaks with crisp potato wedges) and lamb. Hard to pick a favourite! The skordalia in particular was rich and garlicky. Finished off with coffee & galaktoboureko (recommended by one of the lovely waiters). Will be recommending to friends and will definitely be back.

Didn't disappoint.. Great staff and good food.

Great meal, fantastic staff!. Had a great meal here tonight. Staff were all very helpful. Ethan was so helpful but along the way everyone was helpful in choosing, deciding, ordering food! Had char grilled octopus- best I had ever had. Whitebait, Lima beans, olives, saga ski all great. Then there is dessert! Galactobureko is one of my favourite all time desserts and this was the best I had had yet- the lightest flakiest pastry! So all in all - I think the best Greek food I have had- which include melbourne and Greece! And the setting doesn't hurt either!

Yum! Ate too much again.. I have been here several times. The staff are always smiling and friendly. Eat the lamb in Spring it is too die for. My wife does not like dips but she likes the dips at Estia. Subtle flavours that do not over power the taste buds. Some people might think it is noisey I think of being in a taverna where everybody is having a great time. Not cheap but good value for money. For me it is the best Greek restaurant in town.

Great Greek. I dropped in here for a little lunch. The Henley Square area isn't my usual part of Adelaide and I liked the look of Estia but knew nothing about it. I was pleasantly supplied. They were busy but service was still friendly and provided at a good speed - not too fast and not too slow. A nice open fire was buring away adding to the atmosphere.

The small plates approach is well handled, a good range of dishes is available, serving sizes were tending to the generous side. The wine list also looked quite good.

It would be nice to return with a group to sample more dishes but I loved the dishes that I had. Pricing was reasonable - squarely in the mid range and exactly what I'd expect for the quality and service provided.

The surrounding beach area and jetty also make a great spot for an after lunch stroll. I'd say later in the week and for dinners that bookings would be a really good idea.

I am quite happy to recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for good Greek in Adelaide's west - actually I'd drive from the Hills to go there (and I did!)

Don't bother. save your $'s.. For a start. seating. placed in front of a cash register by a stairwell. opposite the side entrance. did I mention drafty? ambience = zilch.
friend orders dips. Waitress. "would you like pita bread with that?" Friend. "Um.. no. I'll eat it with my fingers". Since when do you have to pay extra for pita with a dip!?
Then we both order special of the day Lamb Stew. $22.00. yep. lamb stew. that's it! Oh..also with two narrow slices of toast. that's it. no veg or salad. The stew repeated on me for hours into the night and I had this for lunch. in conclusion. the dips were ordinary and the tarama. no flavour. lamb stew could have been 'beefed up' with salad or veg without having to pay extra! hate those added on costs. nothing special. and nothing special to go out for.
George..

Estia. The food is yummy and the service is fantastic. A great place to go to in the warmer and cooler weather. Would recommend to anyone.

Extremely dissapointing. Made a booking (luckilly as it was full, as usual ) or as it turns out, not so lucky. Friendly greeting on our arrival. Waitress was friendly and efficient. The table legs were in such a way that it was very uncomfortable so we turned the table around, much better- how can they not know that? Why set the table up with the bottom cross bar in the way, where are you supposed to put your feet? Ordered a DIET COKE, received machine Pepsi Max. $3.50. What does that cost nowadays mr. restaurateur- think its around the 35c mark hey? How about when i order telling me you dont have Diet Coke but only Pepsi Max. Do you think im stupid and wont know the difference. Being diabetic i was lost for any other beverage choice except water. Waitress couldnt recommend anything else. The dips were tasteless and slopped on and im still trying to figure out with what they bulked it up cause it was definitely not with quality yoghurt or cream or anything...more like water and cornstarch. Mains came but the waitress told us it would be on COUSCOUS. Thats not couscous, its DRY, BLAND, CHEAP barley. The meatballs are deep-fried ? ugh- The chicken, all it is, is spiced chicken thigh bbqued- boring as hell. The calamari also had no seasoning on whatsoever. AND then the cherry on top. An old oyster shell filled with store-bought bottled asian sweet chili sauce. What on earth does that have to do with greek food? And an oyster shell ? &$#&. DRY, BLAND, still burping the meatballs. Surely REAL GREEK people cant be proud of this food? or is this real authentic greek food because i have had much better in various countries. We were gobsmacked, thought we were on candid camera or a practical joke was played on us. Total waste of a lot of money and left me wondering what on earth all the other people there saw in this restaurant as its always busy? Couldnt wait to get out of there and it would only have pushed up my blood pressure explaining to the staff what is wrong with the food. Many large parties, birthday parties... Obviously some people like it but we and many other bloggers here on Urbanspoon have obviously tasted waaaaaaay better. Shameful actually. The whole system is build with one thing in mind. Make as much money, as cheap as possible, as easy as possible.

Amazing food all round to recommend but my favourite are their loukanika which is a must!!!
Foodlicious
Never disappoints. I had not been there for over a year and returned with a group of 5 and it still ranks as my fave Greek restaurant and one if my fave Adelaide restaurants. The selection if dips and saganaki is to die for, the Greek salad and choice of feta used is unrivaled, I love the zucchini balls, meatballs and of corse the moussaka. We also had the whiting special and calamari that never disappoints. Can't wait to go back again, will not be waiting another 12 months!

Brilliant food served promptly with excellent service by our waiter Nick. He took the time to educate about the beer along with food portions so that our dining experience was great. Definitely coming back

Never Again !!. A group of us went there for dinner. We ordered the banquet. The dips were tasteless which was very disappointing. The worst part of the meal was when they brought out the lamb and chicken. Firstly it tasted as though it was marinated with MSG and secondly the lamb was inedible. It was so tough and under cooked you couldn't cut through it with the knife and you certainly couldn't chew it. We did complain to the waiter but he said that management were not prepared to do anything about it. In my line of work I visit and dine in a lot of restaurants. I believe that every establishment may have mishap at one time or another, but its the way management and staff deal with the mishap that determines whether or not a customer will ever dare to return. In their case they lost a table full of customers.

Service was good. Food was okay but way too overpriced for what was offered. No comparison to the Greek taverna. Also need to get with the times and get perhaps more than one eftpos machine or till. Wasn't pleasant having to line up to pay. Also could use a decor revamp!
Hannah.Polot.
Brilliant.. Fresh, beautifully cooked food. Estia make the best saganaki (fried haloumi) that I've ever had. Maybe a little overpriced for the portion sizes, but the service and gorgeous view make up for it. A favourite of mine :)

Great food, beautiful location
We had a fantastic meal sitting outside with our children. The meals were high quality and the service was excellent.

Food lover. It was so loud in the restaurant that a conversation could not be had, the menu is Meze only no choice of main courses for those who prefer it. We had to ask the waitress if we could order after sitting at the table with water only for half an hour. If you are unlucky to be in one of the the back tables inside you are forgotten by the staff. The only good thing going for this place is the the perfect beach square setting, take that away and no one would go there.
Ur_with_zoe
Its pretty good. I'm a local and when I do choose to dine at the beach this is the most consistent with good service and good food out of all the cafes there I've been to. Lots to choose from, good timing and friendly service

Great!. Great food that arrives promptly. Attentive, friendly service. Definitely would recommend & return.

Good food is not cheap! H.... Good food is not cheap!

High quality and very fresh. Great service too. The platters are fantastic value too.

Will be back for sure!

Best Greek I've tried in Adelaide!. I've always been hesitant about share plates because it's always come in small servings and not enough for the people at the table. This place proved me wrong. I was there for our work Christmas party last night and was impressed with the food. I was full by the 3rd course but still managed to finish the 4th course. Hahaha props to the Head Chef Hasan!

Although, truthfully... $40 per head is a little expensive but I'll ignore that because it's Christmas! ^_^

Lovely welcoming staff who were only too pleased to help us as a family who hadn't been to a Greek restaurant before. A really relaxed way of eating popular with the kids who loved getting into everything and having a try of all the yummy food ! Recommended to us and we in turn will recommend Estia to others .

Best Greek in SA. Everything about this place is amazing. The brilliant menu even tops Kefi & Zucca, and the location is second to none.

Best service I have ever had, the waiter "nick" made us feel right at home. Food was amazing, will definitely be returning

Just Go. Estia is the best but you knew that! The service is always friendly and genuine and the food is sensational. The vegetarian moussaka and char grilled prawns are particular stand outs.

Winner of best Greek & I can see why. Good food, good service. Can't go wrong!

Great Thanks. We went to Estia last night for tea and it was great, had chargrilled Octopus and Lamb, both were great, had the Greek salad, normally Greek salad is rubbish that was pretty good. Also had the chili olives as a nibble before the mains, was really good overall.

It isn't cheap but the service was good, and the food tasted great. Definitely not a ripoff. Think it was about $150 for 4 people incl drinks, the house shiraz wasn't bad either.

Would give it 8/10 all things considered.

One of my favourtes. Always an enjoyable experience.
Andrej
Overrated- cant fault the service but I can't get my head around paying $16 for a Greek salad! A few unripe tomatoes, lettuce, olives and feta. Prawn saganaki was dry. Estia used to be good years ago but I think they have got ahead of themselves a little.

Good service, salty food. While the waiting staff were friendly, attentive and intelligent, the food really let the restaurant down.
I hadn't been here for 20 years! It used to be one of the best Greek restaurants in Adelaide.
But I found the food oversalted, so much that I drank water all the way through the meal and all through the night.
The serves were generous for the banquet we had more than we could eat. Still I would rather have less and better quality.
I won't go back.

I dined in yesterday and had the yummy pan fried cheese... So tasty.. the staff were friendly and prompt... The meat mousaka was delish.. will definitely be back again..

Another unappealing Greek restaurant. My hunt for a passable Greek restaurant continues. The service was quick and pleasant enough, but the food just didn't cut it. A mound of rubbery calamari, chewy haloumi, wilted salad veggies, meatballs of different meats and non-meats (!) that I couldn't discern from one another. I was mighty hungry, but left my order half-eaten.
