Review Eros Kafe - Adelaide

Maggie McDonald
Absolutely amazing food. Quality and flavour are the two words that come to mind. We visited on New Year’s Day and it wasn’t too busy, staff were super friendly from the moment we stood outside to look at the menu. Lots of options for vegans and vegetarians as well as traditional meat eaters. We shared 2 started and 2 mains and left full and happy!!! Highly recommend for food, flavour and service!

Nice Greek restaurant in Adelaide. Good Tzaziki and nice Olives. The fried squid is also good. Good to come if you have some Greek cravings! Good Ouzo in the end as well.
Dimitrios Anagnostakis
Very nice place, with big variety of authentic Greek food! The owners Dimitris and Elefteria and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend them!!!
Nick Zaff
Great food and the staff were very accommodating.

My partner and I absolutely love this restaurant! Amazing food, great service and you’re never left waiting too long for your food. It is a bit pricy but the food is worth it! If you’re looking for Greek cuisine this is the place to go!

The food looks and smells amazing. Really wanted to try it. Just a table of 4. After a while waiting to be seated took 20min get an order in, 40min for drinks to arrive and meals hadn’t even started being prepared after an hour and had to leave. To make it worse tables being served dinner that arrived after we had been seated

Eros Kafe is perfect. Greek food is fast becoming one of my favourites. Eros provided great food, great uncomplicated flavours, clean tasting delicious food. We dined on an extremely busy night and they were still attentive and the wait for food was not lengthy.

So happy that we found this quaint little restaurant. We ordered the first lunch option and it is awesome value for the price. Not only in the amount of you get but also in flavours! If I feel like having Greek food again whilst in Adelaide, I’ll get out of my way to come back here! Oh, and just a side note... the Greek salad has that amazing soft and creamy like feta, not that generic hard cubes that you get out of a tub. So yummy!

Very poor service, entree came out quickly but waited over an hour and a half for our food.. to be told there was an issue with computer when people that arrived after us were getting their food. We were waited on by multiple people (I think they thought we'd finished our meal and that we were taking up space but in reality we hadn't been fed yet despite ordering ages ago lol)I think they felt a bit bad and offered a free cup cup of tea or wine for the long wait... $5 was then charged on our bill... so much for a free cup of tea for the long wait. We didn't want anything for free but better service would have been nice and some acknowledgement for forgetting we were there or forgetting our order or even for making us wait so long. Food wasn't that good either.. Should have gone elsewhere.. I know I won't be back!!!!

Great place to eat! Excellent service and friendly as staff. Such a good menu, it was hard to choose what to eat. Equally good wine list. No rush either but when we did decide the food arrived quickly, and we just loved it. Well done Eros Kafe.

Love Greece and its people but the food ive always found pretty bland this place however was a lovely little space and the fish dish that i ordered was cooked to perfection , i had four different types of fish , baked, grilled , fried , all tasted very different and i would definitely go again
Christine Parkes
We ordered a chefs choice mezzo plate for a starter, which wasn't good just plain and not tasty, bread was tasteless and asked for salt, was shocked to be given ordinary table salt which I wouldn't use, can't believe not sea salt! Then for mains we ordered BBQ lamb & skewered prawns. Was given the wrong lamb but got it changed & surprised that tasteless frozen prawns were used & only given 2 skewers where 3 was advertised they did give us the third but I didn't eat as they were not good. I did expect fresh prawns and the lamb was just really small bits tasty but again poor effort. Had 2 glasses of red and 1 lime & soda bill was $105... won't ever go back. Wasn't asked if we enjoyed our lunch!..

Great service, very friendly staff and food was lovely! Also, I have a child whom is anaphylactic to nuts, I let them know when I arrived and they were so accommodating to make sure everything was prepared with care and did it without any hesitation! Thank you, it made my night less stressful!

Oh you guys made me proud! Thank you so much for a great dinner. Kateryna and other staff were superb. Well done chef for making me the steak just the way I like it! Great food, wine and staff! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Great food, great service! Wonderul night. Highly recommended. Many choices for gluten free (Coeliac Disease). Thanks for a great night.
Vicky Harpas
Been there multiple times food always delicious!! Great service , haloumi salad my fav and bring back the kataifi prawns already
Elaine Hewitt
Staff were rude, obnoxious, very unhelpful and I would never eat there. Clearly were in the wrong profession. Ended up going to another restaurant. Never again!
Wendy Bartel
The food great as was the service! I highly recommend.
Rachel Taylor
What we loved about this restaurant other than the amazing authentic food is what most people are saying negative comments about who obviously have not experienced "Greek time"...a rest between each course is well needed because there is so much great food to try & u need to try it all...love love love
Janelle Mckee
Great service and yummy food We had a short time between shows at the fringe and they were very hospitable and accommodating
Damian Darrie
Top notch food, amazing waitress who was very accomodating and helpful, didn't make a fuss that 2 of our party was vegan, 10/10 would eat again!
The Sassy Foodie
This is the fourth Greek Restaurant that I’ve eaten at in Adelaide and it is by far one of the best ones IMO.

The interior is cute and clean, but wouldn’t mind seeing the seating furniture given a bit of a birthday.

The service was impeccable, with staff regularly tending to customers. We had staff coming up to us and checking if we had enough table space and promptly moving the entree dishes to make room for mains. The food came out hot and each bite was more delicious than the last.

The entree dishes were the real stand outs. The Haloumi was bursting with flavours and not overly salty. The eggplant entree dish was incredible too. Both dishes are a great way to open up your appetite. The mains were really well done too, particularly the prawns and the lamb.

Staff were pleasant and made you feel like you were dining at home.

Give this place a go! I’ll definitely be back to try their octopus and Moussaka.
Good Food Good Mood
We visited Eros Kafe last night which had a lovely atmosphere but the experience was perhaps impeded by what my dining party chose to order which wouldn’t have been my preference (relied upon as they are veterans of the venue). We started with the eggplant dish which I quite enjoyed particularly dipping it into the yummy bread.

The menu is essentially divided into three sizes and this was the smallest of those being a starter. We then had the small sized chicken (the mid sized dish) and the lamb ribs in large. The ribs came atop some potatoes and were served with tzatziki. I find ribs messy and fatty as a rule so would have opted for the lamb shoulder myself but I can’t fault the flavours. The banquet sounds like your best bet for a cross section of everything.

Staff were great. Place was clean and nice. Food was tasty, but nothing was hot. Like it had been sitting for 10 mins before it came out.

I used to go here many years ago. The staff seem quite nice and relatively attentive (always have). However, the food has really gone downhill. It used to be "okay" Greek food, now I would never go again. I went again recently and the Greek salad was drowning in olive oil, there was a huge pool of it at the bottom (like 1cm high) and eventually the cucumber absorbed some of it, but that made the cucumber inedible. If you picked up a piece of tomato/cucumber, it was dripping with olive oil. Disgusting.
The lamb was okay, not amazing. The pita was nice. The chicken (with the okra) dish was very oily, and just kind of just not pleasant (not horrible but not great, either).
I've been eating Greek food my entire life as I am Greek, and this would be my last choice of Greek restaurant in Adelaide, unfortunately.

Eros is still as packed as I remember it to be ten years ago.... Food was alright.... Their menu is pretty much the same as previously which isn't a bad thing ... Slightly disappointed with their desserts

Enjoyed a light lunch on a weekend visit to Adelaide. Delicious calamari, had the entree size, it wasn’t huge but is designed for meze sharing so was the appropriate size for that and there is a larger serve available. Friend had spanakopita from the lunch specials and enjoyed it a lot. Service was a little slow initially, but once we ordered the food came out quickly and was very hot.
Sabrina Fairchild
Great food but a little on the pricey side. It wouldn't of been so bad if the serves were a little more generous. We went out as a group and decided to share all the dishes we ordered. Still felt a little hungry at the end. The service was excellent. Finished with coffee and a couple of deserts to taste, very nice.

Not exactly fine gourmet but this is not required for a good all around experience. We found the food at Eros Kafe to be fresh, good quality, served in large portions at reasonable prices.

The trio was dip with 12 pieces of warm pita was easily enough for 2 or even 3 people. The prawn entree (7 decent prawns with rice) can be enough for a light main. The prawns were fresh, and well seasoned. Main of lamb cutlets was very generously portioned with 5 thick cutlets that were well seasoned and tender.

The service was very friendly and attentive throughout. I would not hesitate to come back based on this experience alone.

THIS. THIS PLACE. the best meal I’ve had in 7 months. The service is amazing the food is authentic. My parents and I went 2 nights in a row. They know good food and they agree. Follow @thereviewhaiku OBSESSED FABULOUS GREEK FOOD. WOW just wow.

Eros has been around a long time and as I live near there I've been in several times. On this occasion I was disappointed with my 'meat platter'. It was quite a small collection of bits and pieces: a bit of grilled chicken, a small lamb chop with little meat on it, and a sausage so vastly overcooked that I was reduced to picking it up and gnawing at it! Maybe I made the wrong choice, but my wife said her moussaka was stodgy and far too solid, and she gave up on it before finishing. The appetizer dips were OK but there wasn't enough flat bread with them. Nice wine and cheerful service. Nothing special, I'm afraid.

Had lunch here a few weeks ago and it was pretty good! The food was very simple, tasty and well executed. Service was friendly and prompt. Dips good, chicken cooked well, salad nice and fresh, but the zucchini fritters were overcooked as you can see by the photo. Eros is reasonable value for lunch and I might return again, although the flavours are just a little plain for me, but if you feel like a simple Greek lunch, then give it a try! Thanks Team.

In the city centre, alfresco or indoor dining. Very cute and cosy restaurant with super friendly staff and great attentive service.Best Greek restaurant I have been to, as a vegetarian my choices are always limited but this place catered plenty of vego dishes. Their oven grilled stuffed eggplant starter (Iman Baldi) with Tzaziki was outstanding, though a bit oily. Their zucchini fritters with hummus dip were excellent. Wine choices can be better. Definitely would visit again.

Had dinner here last night and what a lovely ambience the restaurant exhibited! The decor and open windows really brought a touch of Greece to Adelaide, and not to mention the food! Ordered the $33 meat platter and may I say every bite was a delight! The salad was super fresh and just really helped balance out the whole dish, and as for the meat? Every mouthful was beautiful and char-grilled to my liking, despite a few hit and misses. I felt as though the lamb was hard to cut into despite the inner texture being pink and succulent, and the sausage was way too overcooked (very difficult to cut and a quite dry). The char-grilled chicken and meatballs were by far my favourite of the night though!

And as for service? Superb! The waiters were all so accommodating.

Love this place - great service, great food and wine. Sophia was our waitress and I always get a little nervous when they don't write things down. Just because I wouldn't remember it. She was sensational with our big order and changed my things on it. Can't wait to come back.

Named after the God of Love and having been around for over twenty years, Eros Kafe is an institution in the Rundle Street cafe precinct. With a menu that has been designed to share, customers can select from a large selection of meze dishes or have something more substantial kirio piato (main plates).

No moussaka!! What Greek restaurant has no Moussaka left!! Plus $8.50 for a bottle of still water. No thankyou! Definitely wont be going again
Kate Fraser
Always great food at this restaurant. The haloumi, pear and walnut salad is a stand out. Great friendly service - they go out of their way to keep you happy. They offered to make a special meal for my husband which wasn't currently on the menu.

Eros Kafe delivers again and again. In a larger group, we opted for their banquet option. Endless amounts of fresh and versatile dishes. From dips and mezze to Saganaki, Greek salad and meat dishes. Great service to top it all off. An excellent dinner at Eros.
Highly recommended!

Came here tonight and had the Dinner Banquet (Option 1). There was so much food! Of the 10 dishes we tried, my favourite were the dips, meat balls, saganaki, and the calamari. The taramasalata was fantastic - definitely my favourite of the 4 dips on the plate. My friend loved the garlic dip, but the flavour was a little milder than I would've liked. The highlight was really the pita bread though, which came lovely and hot and was super soft and fluffy.

The meatballs were really flavourful and had a lovely, bitey texture. They held together well and weren't dry at all. It went extremely well with the melty, oozy saganaki. They used kefalograviera cheese rather than the usual halloumi, and it was a very welcome change. Very delicious!

The calamari was more fried than I would have liked, but they had a great crunchy exterior and were very tasty and moreish, especially dipped into the creamy sauce.

I was very happy with the service and the food. I plan on returning to try other things on their menu.

Randomly wandered in here for a Sunday night dinner during a weekend visit to Adelaide. Nice relaxed atmosphere, but still well-presented. We ordered 3 meze plates between 2 of us - tiri saganaki, imam baildi and a main size of the lamb ribs, arni padaika. All were delicious, full of flavour, nicely cooked and more than adequate for the 2 of us. Service was friendly and attentive without being overboard, and the food arrived within a reasonable time frame. Definitely my food highlight of the weekend.
Nomadic Envy
Lately I’ve been really enjoying Greek food. I think it must be a combination of greens, seafood and their incredibly delicious cheeses that makes me get cravings for Greek food from time to time. My go-to place for Greek food in Adelaide would be The Greek on Halifax, but we decided to try Eros Kafe as we were on Rundle already.

Between four of us, we’ve ordered three Meze sharing plates and 3 mains (however the order was taken incorrectly and we got two entree size and one main size). The Tiri Saganaki is a pan cooked kefalograviera cheese which was cooked to the perfect texture and it absolutely delicious. I also very much enjoyed Yigandes Plaki (Greek giant lima beans, in tomato sauce with feta) as it had lots of flavours and was perfect on a chilly evening. Compared to these two, the zucchini fritters was disappointing.

It was the last night of Fringe and Eros was flat out however, you wouldn't know it from the service - calm, friendly and prompt. We did not wait for anything. The food came out promptly. Our saganaki was delicious, as were the lamb patties. The quail and lamb mains were also really tasty.

Its a nice greek style restaurant cafe in adelaide rundel street. Love the halloumi salad and lamb cutlet i ordered, good flavouring and staffs are friendly.
Kayla Roberta Wilson
I'm pretty shocked at the low rating this restaurant has on here considering we had such a good experience! Most of the food is designed to be share plates, which I love, and absolutely EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious! We ordered saganaki, lamb cutlets, sardines, calamari and the meatballs - all of which were perfect. On top of this, the service was excellent. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back!!
The Tasty Press
Both Eros Kafe and Eros Ouzeri have been long standing veterans of the East End of Rundle Street. Having dined at Eros Ouzeri a number of times a few years back, I’d never taken notice of the difference between the neighbouring restaurants, assuming that Eros Kafe was simply more of a coffee/lunch spot than its slightly more upmarket counterpart. Turns out, Eros Ouzeri had been sold by the founding family in 2007, keeping Eros Kafe to nurture and focus on. Learning this, a little more light is shed on perhaps why there’s been countless times I’ve walked past and wandered why Ouzeri had been left empty while the Kafe next door is buzzing with social lunchers, during weekdays and the weekend.

One of our go-to places. Always solid. Love being able to choose small plates and build the meal as your fancy takes you. Decent wines. Service can be patchy but always friendly.

Saganaki Eggs Kaftero. Delicious!
Claire
They've got great food and sweet service as well .

Not very helpful at all - walked in to see if I could book a table for me and the girls from the office for lunch. Asked if we could pre-order as we only have 1gr for lunch, the man without hesitation and in an abrupt manner said 'NO, can't help you there!'
Number one most of your clients for lunch are office people working around the area, why not cater for their needs such as pre-ordering! All the other places do it, please give me a valid reason to why you don't??
Amackeats
Absolutely delicious. Ate here this evening - food, wine and service were on point. We will be back.

Great breakfast!. Great breakfast options and lovely service. Recommend the saganaki eggs!

Sunday night dinner. Had dinner at this cafe on sunday night on our last night in adelaide. I have to say coming from Melbourne where we have an abundance of greek restaurants, this has to be one of the best set menus i have experienced... the food was delicious, authentic greek and the staff very friendly... if you are in adelaide, you must try Eros. Well done to the staff and chefs thank you for an enjoyable meal... yum yum yum
Fiona Eyles
Fantastic breakfast thanks David loved our visit we will be back
Hillbilly
Nice Sunday breakfast. A very nice quite place to have a Sunday breakfast the food is very good and it has a nice point of difference .. Full table service by well trained staff...A better choice than the place over the road with the loud techno music and no table service .. Try the poached eggs in baked yogurt ... Nice..

Great breakfast, tasty! Good choice of menu. Good service! Great prices! Highly recommend!

A-Meze-Ing!. Although a fairly unassuming looking establishment, this restaurant is cozy and friendly with excellent staff and service with a smile.
Although I can't remember the names of all the dishes, we shared a number of Meze plates, all of which were very tasty, cooked perfectly and were very moorish. Highly reccommend the Spanakoptia and the chili prawns.
Warwick
Awesome - had breakfast, food is unique and tasted great. Even the bread was toasted to perfection. Coffee was good too.
Mango Queen
Fantastic. We went twice in 2 days, I loved the chicken thigh fillets with potato and tzadziki. The marinated octopus and lamb kofta were great too.
Mon
Lovely lunch. 3 of us from work went and shared the $29 dollar per head banquet. Food amount was just right - not too much, not too little. I liked the refinement and presentation after having just eaten at Kefi's a few days before. We all were really happy with food and service. I like the banquet option. This allowed us to end with a coffee too. I'd go back in an instant.
Eddy B
Great customer service. Saganaki was way too salty. mixed grill was good apart from the real chewy quail! Overall a good experience, but not going back in a hurry!
Art
Missed opportunity Eros. There is nothing wrong with the food here, however Eros had a missed opportunity, our company dinner usually means unlimited funds. We were a party of 8, we ordered 8 shared dishes, only 5 were served. We had to ask for the remaining 3. Worst thing was, we were only served 3 bottles of wine and had to ask (beg) for a 4th one. Luckily Shaw & Smith saved some of the night. The last time I ate at Eros was 2008 and it wasn't really good, unfortunately it hasn't really improved. We continued to the Austral, where we spend another $100. Missed chance Eros, missed chance... you won't see me back, even if it is free.

Lunch at Eros Kafe. Had lunch at Eros Kafe this arvo. Ordered the Lamb open yiros for $17.40, which was a little pricey. Food took a long while to come, which did not make sense considering the fact that there was only a couple of tables filled. however, food was good. lamb was made medium rare, according to my preference, but the pita bread was placed in a mash of sour cream, which made it soggy by the time the food was served. overall, service was fine, food was above average, waiting time for food was poor, price is a little high. would recommend the place if you have time to spare and do not mind paying a little more. otherwise, there are better places!

Eros Kafe - Rundle Street Adelaide. Eros Kafe has been a regular haunt since I first moved to Adelaide eight years ago.

Cheaper than the next door Eros Restaurant, (and not owned by the same people) Eros Kafe provides the diner with well priced Greek food at an excellent position to watch the world go by.

To get the most out of your experience here I suggest you go for the banquet options, I have never seen anyone leave hungry when this is ordered.

If you are there for a small bite and gossip over a coffee the Saganaki cheese and dips are a favourite of my friends and I and at lunch the burger is well priced at around $16.

The wine list here caters to my love of full bodied wines with Mothers Milk being a favourite to order.

This Kafe is a place that people come back too, I have met so many people through the years who come back time and time again mainly for the coffee in winter and iced coffee in summer, and reasonably priced food and wonderful atmosphere in the heart of the city!

Wow could it have been more personal!. I just had a taste of what Eros Kafe has to offer and am pleasantly surprised! After reading the reviews I had braced myself but after giving Eros Kafe a go I see that they are just finding their way back after a period of bad management. The staff were doing their very best and the food was great! ... God I've had my share of bad managers and truly feel for this lot. Well done!!! A big thumbs up!
Jon
Great food. Had a fabulous state and main. Shame they don't OFFER dessert.
Sandraj
We don't seem to have much luck here! It is not the good as much as the indifferent, even arrogant service. On the first occasion we wanted to book as a party of 6 for breakfast. Despite the advance warning, this seemed all too hard for some strange reason so we gave up and went elsewhere. On this latest occasion, my husband ordered soup and a main course. After a long wait, the main had not arrived. When asked, the waiter replied that my husband must have mumbled that order and that they had sold out of that dish anyway. No apology. It appeared to be our fault. There is some interesting food here but not so good as to make up for poor service and attitude

Rude waitress ok food. Food was nice and well presented.

The only let down is the staff, and they manage to ruin the experience. Wont go back to where you are made to feel not welcome.

My friend hated the moussaka and didn't even finish it. The waitress didn't bother to ask why the meal was barely touched. Clearly didn't give a toss.

Wont go back and wouldn't recommend it.
Anna
Horrible service! Awful food, waited an hour, soggy chips. Used to be good, has definitely gone downhill. Don't waste your money!
Lucy
Really disappointed all round. Service was almost non existent, and unhygienic and we actactually had to ask for menus after being seated for half an hour. The food was average except the octopus which was so tough we couldn't chew it. would not recommend this place to anyone.
AH
Rude Service. Went to Eros Kafe tonight but left before ordering because of the rude service. We obviously were not wanted, shame as this used to be a favourite but now the staff seem more interested in serving their mates and ignoring others.
Jon Sloper
Nice place for lunch, good service with generous portion sizes we shared three meze plates between my wife and I which was plenty. The octopus had a lovely smokey BBQ taste, the haloumi was yummy and the Greek sausage was okay not sure why its served on white rice would have been much nicer if it was served on crunchy potatoes with some form of chutney or sauce, it lacked flavour. Give it a go I reckon.
Tony
Affogato with Frangelico... mmm, yummy.
Tasty Truth
Terrible coffee and poorer service. Just finished a coffee and rude waiter told us to pay and move on so he could balance his till before dinner! Are you kidding me?! Will never return.
Adele Zivec
Don't bother!!!!!!!!. I wouldn't go back! Terrible food and service wasn't much better.
Frances
Went to Eros Kafe on New Years Eve, had the banquet. Absolutely loved the food, especially the chicken souvlaki and calamari. Definitely be back soon.
Marvel
Disappointing! Overpriced, bad service & an extremely rude manager. Half the menu choices were not available on the night & to top it off was served coffee with spoiled milk! Had been a regular here and really liked it but it seems like there has been a change in management & the service & quality have slipped. Will give it a miss from now on.
Grant
Fantastic Greek cuisine, would recommend to others. Excellent veggo options!
Mega Adam
Service really slow and sloppy, food well priced and delicious.
Maz
Fantastic service, great food, awesome atmosphere! Ps. THE BEST frappes in Adelaide!
Paul
Very Disappointing. A nice Sunday night
We ordered the basics and always reliable dishes in Greek Cuisine
The Grilled Octopus: = Tough
Lamb on skewers: = Tender but bland
Halloumi Cheese stack: = dry & rubbery
Greek Salad: OK
Probably 80% full when we arrived, most peoples orders were on the tables
A Good 50 min wait for food & 20 min wait for a glass of wine.
Lacked serviced, Tad over priced.
Unfortunately will be giving it a miss
Pooneh Az
Very disappointed! Not at a.... Very disappointed!
Not at all value for money the food was a miss. The Greek salad didn't have any cucumber, our main wasn't served with rice although in the menu it said it would, the calamari was the worst I ever had!
John Lundin
Great Greek Food. Had dinner at Eros Kafe this Saturday night and had to let everyone know how great it was. The place was buzzing and evn though it was very busy the waiting staff did very well. I had the mixed grill at at over $30 I expected it to be great, well every last bite was mouth watering, especially the lamb. The others food was equally as delicious. We're going to make this place our regular.
Dolce
WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. I don't understand how people could charge this much for their food...it's good...but it's not worth $4 for a prawn...
If you can afford it/don't care about the cost then go ahead - I personally don't think the food is worth the money you're paying.
It's quite good Greek food but the ingredients and dishes are quite simple.

Not going again.

Liked this restaurant and the food. Service teetered from over-attentive (we got there early) to under-attentive (other people arrived) and our requests (some water for the table) went missing. Still, a good, solid Greek meal. Rate the mixed grill and filo-wrapped vegetables.
MacDonald Machingura
Staff were overwhelmed by a Saturdaynight rush and struggled to attend to tables properly. Food was good but overpriced. Drink order was incorrectly delivered. Could be so much better if they looked after the finer details.
Eastwaste
Some friends and I went to Eros last week for a late lunch. Most of us had the open yiros (either chicken or lamb) - I had chicken. It was delicious! A couple of the girls in a group are vegetarians and they tried the vegetarian foccacia - they werent as impressed as we were with our yiros. The service was really friendly and pretty attentive and quick. I think I will go back for dinner one night to try a banquet.
Emma Michelle
Eros(the greek god of love!!). This Kafe is the best! Great location and atmosphere, right in the heart of adelaide. During christamas and the fringe/clipsal season I went there quite a lot. The staff are exceptional! Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Yummy dips and meze! And great wine menu with lots to choose from either your whites or reds. Highly recommended!
Mariel
Disturbingly overpriced. We came with a group of 5 and got seated immediately, as we had a reservation. Two of us decided on the banquet, which was tasty and tons of food. The other three of us decided to share 3 Meze meals, as we were not as hungry. We ordered the Kataifi Prawns for $32.00, which only had 7 prawns on a skewer stick. That is $4.57 per prawn and there were not that big. We also ordered the Asparagus Meze which was about $20.00 and came with 6 asparagus wrapped in cheese with one roasted tomato on the side. That is $3.33 per asparagus spear. Finally, we ordered the Scallops Meze which was also about $20.00 and came with 7 scallops on a skewer stick, nothing else. That is $2.85 per scallop. The waitress clearly understood that the 3 of us wanted enough for a meal each and she did not say how tiny these plates were. We expected a lot more. Needless to say, we left absolutely starving, and I could've eaten all three plates on my own and still been hungry and $72.00 poorer. Not to say the food wasn't good, it was, but disturbingly overpriced. We had hungry jacks later, and made sure the waitress understood.

Went for a quick business lunch - great shared plate and awesome spanikopita. Good value for the quality
Franklin
Hey, we liked it. The meze were really tasty, the shared plates were good and the service was relaxed and attentive. Went for lunch on a Sunday when far too much in Adelaide is closed. Well done Eros.
John
Popped in for lunch whilst in the city never eaten there before, food and service was great
Andre Moser
Busy cafe meant a long wait, abrupt waiter (stressed and snippy) and poor coffee (my kids do better at home). The food took 30 mins to arrive and was cooked well and we enjoyed the bacon and eggs. The Batista needs more training as the coffee wasn't good (we had to send it back twice). If it looks busy don't go in for breakfast. Plenty of better options elsewhere. 4 out of 10 :(
Steve
Good Greek done by Non-Greeks. I was worried when I realised that the kitchen and waiting staff were largely indian, but the food captured modern greek cuisine well. The mixed grill was cooked well, and octopus skewers were tender and well presented. The rib-eye was quality, and sides were as you would expect. No WOW factor but just a decent greek meal on Rundle Street.

Would just like to say that we had some great service at the Eros cafe this evening. The food was good (not the best in Adelaide, but not far off) but the staff were attentive without being imposing. Dips were delicious, with a generous serving of pita bread. The meatball entree and unpronounceable chicken dish were both great as well. Good sizes for entrees, but a bit pricey. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

Amazing Greek food in the heart of Adelaide! Match with some imported retzina and your nearly back in Greece! - wish the wine had been served in latte glasses! The tazaziki dip is incredible! Some much garlc it burns!!! Perfect meal for fixing a hangover from new years eve.

Reasonable meze, fairly pedestrian. Wait staff hard to find and run off their feet. Try the restaurant next door.

Fantastic food, okay service. Had dinner here recently with a friend. it was quite busy and we sat outside. my friend went inside to ask for a drinks menu and was told by the manager it would be brought out. after a short wait, a waitress brought out some menus for us, but no drinks menu. I asked if she would and she was apologetic that she hadn't picked one up, but when she went inside to get it she was told by the manager to do something else and we were left waiting.

after we were given the menu, there was quite a wait for our order to be taken as the waitresses only seemed to come outside to bring food to other tables, but nobody noticed us there waiting to order.

after we ordered our food it arrived quite quickly, especially seeing as it was a busy night, and it was great. I will definitely be back!

the service was very friendly, although a bit slow, but this could be fixed by employing one or two more floor staff... or maybe a new manager!

Having been a few times for lunch and dinner we thought we'd give brekky a go, very disappointing... Our order wasn't put through and after waiting 45min for our breakfast we were told there was a glitch in the system. After that the poached eggs were rock hard and the spinach was gritty, the eggs with tomato and fetta was bland also with gritty spinach, all in all a disappointment.

Bad service. Can't comment on the food because I didn't get a chance to order it, the service was that bad. They were clearly understaffed, only 2 waiters on a Saturday were running around trying to deal with a massive table inside. We ended up leaving after no one came to take our order after 30 minutes, and this was after we had to go inside to get our own menus. Only other time I have been there I tried a Greek melomakarona and it was horrible - surely at a Greek place they would do the sweets right. But no it was dry, hard as a rock and inedible and had clearly been sitting in the fridge for a number of days (or weeks). Would not recommend this place after 2 bad experiences.

Awesome Breakfast. Had breakfast here the other day, for the first time. It was brilliant food and excellent service, we will be back again for breakfast soon.

Like being in Greece. Top spot in the popular East End district. Whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, a light snack, or a coffee, you can't look past this place. Restaurant quality food at affordable prices. Delicious food and great coffee. Simply love eating there & sitting outside enjoying the beautiful sun. The best way to eat here is to get an assortment of authentic Greek dishes.

Consistently great food. I've had quite possibly the best piece of salmon I've ever eaten here, and I'm a frequent return customer when I'm in Adelaide. Service can be a bit slow/inexperienced, but the food more than makes up for it.

Just had the lunch banquet. Well worth it.

This Kafe is a place that people come back too, I have met so many people through the years who come back time and time again mainly for the coffee in winter and iced coffee in summer, as well as the reasonably priced food and wonderful atmosphere in the heart of the city!
Delicious Please
A friend and I decided to try out Eros Kafe last week for a late lunch after having walked by it so many times. It's classier (and pricier) brother, Eros Ouzeri, is right next door but for lunch purposes the Kafe seemed better suited to our student budget. Not that it's particularly cheap, mind you. Since we came in after the lunch rush, there were only a few tables occupied and just the one waiter behind the bar. The menu took some time to get our heads around - it literally was all Greek to me - but we eventually decided on a sharing plate and a main dish to share. I'm always hesitant when ordering a 'sharing plate' because I never know how big they're going to be. I wish restaurants would just tell you exactly how many pieces of whatever you're ordering and the waiters can tell you exactly how big the dish will be.

Open style yiros with marinated prime lamb fillets, chopped and served with salad, tzatziki, pitta and rough cut steakchips didn’t look all that appetizing on the plate, it smelt amazing and it tasted amazing too!
