Review Bts Cafe - Adelaide

Kellie Woolford
I always enjoyed BTS cupcakes but the last two purchases from the Marion store have been underwhelming. The 'cake' is getting smaller and the icing higher to compensate. Despite how much I love buttercream icing, this makes for a sickly dessert with most of the icing going in to the bin. Prices get bigger while products get smaller. A sign of the times? I never minded paying a premium price for a premium product but my SOS and Mr Big cupcakes were ironically small and not what they used to be.

Went in during rush hour for quick coffee, had to wait over 30 minutes for my coffee only to realise that the manager was stumbling while making the orders or completely forgetting to make them. As I went to grab my coffee the stench of alcohol was extremely strong.

Mothers day special cupcakes, my daughter bought me a box of mothers day cupcakes, as a mothers day gift. Were not edible, stale dry hard chocolate cake with an unpleasant thick slab of chocolate butter icing that just tasted like butter with icing sugar in it. Was heavy and tasted bad. Had a cup cake previously in the shop which was different to these, they tasted fine, nothing like this rubbish. Don't but the mothers day special cup cakes, were really awful, poorly presented rubbish. I can usually eat anything, and have a sweet tooth, but these went into the bin, got through less that half the cake. Will not shop there again. I tried to pretend to enjoy the cake for sake of my daughter, but the saw that she couldn't eat hers either. My daughter thought this would be a special treat so she is very dissappointed.

Havenā€™t been here for over 2 years. Theyā€™ve always had the best cupcakes. And yesterday around 2:30-3pm I got there and there were cupcakes left. I was so excited. But as I was trying to decide what to get I saw a fly, flying from cupcake to cupcake. The lady staff member saw me seeing the fly so she shook the glass that the cupcakes were in and like 3 flys and a few fruit flys flew off. I walked out so fast. No thanks.

I recently ordered an assorted box of 9 cupcakes for a friends 60th birthday dinner. OMG they were an absolute hit and sooooo yummy. Everyone commented how fantastic they were...

Cute little cafe tucked away in a side street. I'm so glad I found this place, my go-to for a good latte. Stunning cupcakes made in-house too!

My husband buys me a boxful of BTS cupcakes every single week, which makes me the luckiest woman in town! These are all World Class Cupcakes. Tastebud bliss. Thank you, Cupcake Artisans. Xx

So much of hype into this place leading in. A very good poking place giving an ancient vibe. Very friendly staff as well. We got the a 3 cupcakes(1 normal and 2 baby)
They had all those fruity goodness infused into it, but I don't know if it was the time we went in... But it was dry. Very dry.
The staff wasn't there at the time we left for us to give that feedback. So wouldn't recommend going late in the day (2-3pm), but I've got a feeling that they were good fresh as it would've been dry as they were just stored in room temperature.

Saw this place and just had to stop. So cute inside. Cupcake display is just beautiful. Choices are all amazing. Coffee was great. Cupcake was fresh and delicious and staff are friendly.

Good cake but cream was too sweet for me and my fellow. Mocha was average. But the decor was so lovely! Cupcakes were really cute as well. If ur a sweet lover then definitely recommend for cupcakes. Haven't try babycakes yet but they looked good as well.

The first time I tried the cakes here, I found them rich. Really rich. However, my tastebuds must have decided that the cupcakes are delicious after all, and it's obvious that they use high quality ingredients. The flavours change all the time so it's fun to try out the different offerings. It's cute inside too, and very very pink. Recommended for coffee and cake catchup with friends.

BTS = DELICIOUS!

I was very happy with all 3 of my mini cupcakes. Got two chocolate ones and one sticky date cupcake. I am generally not a fan of sticky date but I loved this one!

This cute cafe is located on Pirie Street. They offer a range of delectable cupcakes both regular and mini sized. This was our sweet finale for The Adelaide Feast tour by Feast On Foot. The interior design is quite stunning and the prime table is the one next to the window with the comfortable armchairs.

We got a sample a mini cupcake of our choice as well as a hot beverage. Looking at all the cupcakes it people a while to choose which one they wanted. I settled on the NAU which was a dark Belgian chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. The cake was soft and the frosting was really nice and not overly sweet which you can really taste the peanut butter. I also had a Mocha which came with some cool art on top which I really enjoyed. The coffee was very nice as well. Staff here are really pleasant and engaging.

Cute cafe in city centre selling cupcakes to dine in or take away. We went recently mid afternoon so the selection was partly sold out but we got 2 cupcakes to take away, the Heidi and the princess. Cupcakes were tasty and sweet and a good size but were $4.50 per cupcake. Friendly service and the takeaway bag keeps the icing intact. Mini size also available and orders for an event can be arranged. Good for a sweet treat.

pretty much some of the best cupcakes you can get in Adelaide, so many great flavours to pick from and they do large and mini sized ones! the staff are wonderful and always friendly and the coffee is great too!
Flavio
Flavour? Yes, If you class sugar as a flavour. I understand they are cupcakes and need to be sweet, but gee anyone that says these cupcakes have flavour is doing well too push aside all that sugar. There was no way I could discern the different flavours of the 3 cupcakes I tried. I liken it to eating a super hot vindaloo in that once the chili hits that ridiculously high point, you ain't gonna be tasting anything else but that burn. Tone down the sugar and let's go with some actual flavours, we don't all have the tastebuds of 10th birthday party goers.

Absolutely delicious cupcakes. Fun flavours, cute shop. Worth a trip into the city just for a coffee and cupcake (with a box to also take home!)

Are they really BTS? That's debatable, but they are tops! Today's 'Violet' with blueberries and lemon icing hit the spot. Love the moist cake and moorish toppings.

Coffee and cupcakes are good, the only thing I would fault is that some of their cupcakes are really hard to remove from the take away box when they have sooo much icing piled on top! Apart from that, their flavour combinations are genius and staff are lovely, they always know what's in each cupcake and which ones to avoid if you have allergies. Beautiful šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

I love their friendly service more than the cup cakes :D Once you become a regular, they will remember you and your preferences. they make sure that even new staff will make your tea and coffee in the 'right' way.Ā and, cupcakes are the second best thing about the shop to me. Ā They are moist, and not too sweet. the icings are good. I like Elvis :) Ā decoration is always very cute.Ā Also, the interior is very cute. I am not into pink or black, usually. but, the girl side of me always woke up when I was at the shop and enjoyed being there. :)Ā One little thing is that they make me a bit uncomfortable when they are looking out of the window and greeting every person walking in front of it.

Summary Review: A very pretty chic looking cupcake place, fit for royalty. This small cafe delivers great presentation, unique taste and great ambience . This place deserves an 11/10. Along the streets of Pirie lies a very cute cupcake place, the outside is almost as attractive already with itā€™s colours and prints surroundings. First look of colour coordination I must say itā€™s very similar to Victoria Secret haha!

The cupcakes are absolutely delicious, moist and beautifully decorated. Ā The price is quite reasonable too, considering the high quality of the products available. Ā The staff is friendly and efficient, and makes you feel really welcome. I like the decor too - elegant in pink and black, and reminds me of a setting from the TV series 'Paradise'. Ā Definitely, one of our favourite cafes in Adelaide.

PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT OMG THE FROSTING OMG SO YUM.

I know I don't sound elegant but the cupcakes are PERF. I often go for chocolate ones, because - you know - chocolate. The balance is great, the ratio of moist, moist (yes, I went there) cake to icing is great. I also love a lot of icing.

This BTS is quite small inside, so sometimes you have to fight for space to just look at the cakes, which change daily. Staff are friendly and there is a street-side window for coffee & cupcakes.

I know it's quite pink, but these are definitely a great treat when you're on the go in the city.

Some people might, at first glance, say that the icing to cake ratio is off with these cupcakes. Let me tell you, it's not! Especially when the icing features Peanut Butter as the one I wolfed down did. These are the perfect treat, they also come in mini size if you want to watch your cupcake intake, personally I think that just means you can eat more.

The staff were rude, snobby and prejudice. The cupcakes were dry and average tasting. Definitely NOT worth the 45min drive to get there on my birthday. I left in tears and they offered me more cupcakes. They wouldn't even let me have a plate. I had to eat out of the box. The other snobby patrons gave me sideways looks. DO NOT come here if you have kids or if you think you are going to get out of this world because I can tell you their cupcakes are definitely not BTS. They ruined my birthday

Great cupcakes - just a little pricey.

Flavour Palette!!!!!!!. I've slowly (and continue to) make my way through the way the menu of cupcakes and have never been short of insanely satisfied. I couldn't chose a favorite because all of them are so enjoyable and unique in flavour. The staff are the friendliest of anywhere in Adelaide. Whilst waiting for your coffee always bringing up polite conversation and always remembering you when coming back. really really lovely place.
Amy Kennedy
Absolutely love love love it! The chocolate is Belgian 70% cocoa Callebaut chocolate it's beautiful! And no offence to 'Monte' who mentioned the 'generic chocolate' they make it themselves from scratch by melting chocolate into the milk. They just do it 2 ltr at a time to shorten customer waiting times. Could you imagine how long you would have to wait for them to weigh the chocolate and place it in the milk for each customer??
The cupcakes are also amazingly beautiful being made with nothing but too notch ingredients including South Australias only Humane Society supported free range eggs! delightful staff, delightful owner, delightful product!
Dboom_21
Simply a must. Perfect Coffee and delicious cupcakes. Will never be able to describe in words the type of amazing service you get at this cafe. The general vibe in the cafe is just heart warming too. A MUST go to for a great coffee spot.

The mini cupcakes are just right; not too much frosting and less guilt :)
Delicious.

The cupcakes are nothing short of divine!!! Very pleasant staff and lovely interior. Coming from interstate, must say a highlight of Adelaide! Coffee was good too.

Great Coffee. Been coming to BTS Cafe for coffee every morning and the coffee has been consistent for each time that I have ordered, the best part is that I order two coffees each visit. 100% worth a visit when you are in Adelaide and 200% if you live in Adelaide and have never heard of this wonderful sweet cafe. I heard they make great cupcakes too.

OMGAGA. Everyone Come On Down!!!!!!! This is my treat of choice during the work week. The cupcakes are to die for, I have tried all the varieties but my favourite is the Mr Big! The service is exceptional. Walking into the cafe I always feel like I have bn teleported to the little cafes in Paris. The French inspired decor is so swish and comfortable.

Take children in there and they get treated like superstars!!!!!!!! We took children in late one afternoon and the staff were so great and the kids loved the cupcakes they ordered (the best sweet-taste critics).
We were nagged the whole way home as to when we were goin back there.
Cheryl
This is the BEST cupcake joint in Adelaide. It is our go-to-place for any and every special event at my workplace. The cupcakes are to die for and according to all we share them with, they really are BTS!
Elise
Aaaamazing cupcakes! I haven't been to the cafe but had a friend buy some cupcakes for us.. Both times I had the one which I'm pretty sure has like a peanut butter icing? I love it. I need to venture into the cafe itself soon for a coffee and another of those delicious cupcakes!
Evaynay82
Hits the spot!. BTS Cafe is brilliant! must try choc & raspberry muffin, Peanut Butter muffin, and the pumpkin something muffin (with a beautiful coffee of course) a must see cafe.

I love BTS!! Best cupcakes in Adelaide. The Elvis is amazing, as is the Rhett Butler. Regardless of the flavour, you can't go wrong.
Dallas Carangi
To die for..... The caramel frosting is amazing, I die! I could eat it by the mixing bowl but with 'the wolf' even better. BTS cupcakes always make an appearance at my functions and within 5 mins of them surfacing, they're gone. Always the loveliest of service - professional and efficient.

Very tasty and interesting cupcakes. Beautiful fit out. Enjoyable cup of tea and a cake. Try the Elvis. Banana choc-chip with peanutbutter icing.

I'm a personal trainer and the ONLY thing I treat myself too on the odd occasion are BTS Cupcakes!! I grew up with a dessert chef in my family and yup... Sorry mum, BTS make cupcakes better! That's a massive call! Try them and you will know what I'm talkin about! Better Then Sex! (BTS)!!!
Miss E
Maybe I was unlucky, but a friend gave me some cupcakes from here. I thought they were dry and quite bland. They certainly weren't bad, but they weren't excellent either.
Georgia
Me likey. Delishhhhh!!

Nom nom nom. I was sceptical after hearing people rave about this place - I mean, I have had the real deal at Sprinkles in LA and I've been let down so many times by copycat cupcake stores that have popped up both here in Adelaide and in Melbourne and Sydney. However, I was pleasantly surprised by both the set-up of this little cafe and the deliciousness of their cupcakes! I sampled the H & G (gingerbread spiced cake with butter cream frosting) and the Lafayette (dark chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting centre) - both were delectable.
Brendan
Brendan. BTS is a winner. The cup cakes are of high quality and customer service is equally as impressive. Clearly owner and manager Jacqui knows how to run a successful business. She deserves to succeed in this business venture.
Patsy
Blossoming business. I love this place and they just keep getting better and better. It's been said the cupcakes are the best in the city and if you happen to see a gentleman at the coffee machine, stop and try one of his coffee's!

Had "Mr. Big" yesterday . Yummm. I love this place.

BTS - Best Cupcakes EVER. OMG, these are seriously good cupcakes! I have now tried 3 varieties, including the Elvis which was devine and the Vanilla which is THE best frosting I have ever had and very generous in the amount on top of the cupcake.
Georgous shop, georgous packaging and stunning cupcakes. Thanks and I will be back.

I had never heard of this place until a coworker was raving about it. Located on Pirie Street itā€™s a small little pink store that you cannot miss.
Ryley Smithson
Staff were very friendly and genuine, the atmosphere there is amazing, I wish I wasn't in a hurry I would have stayed there, pink is definitely the color with a couple of chandeliers and big comfy-looking chairs, the branding was evident
Now you may be wondering what BTS actually stands for. I believe it's "Better Than Sex". Choosing my first BTS cupcake, I was tossing up between the peanut butter "Elvis" cupcake or the chocolate "Mr Big" cupcake. Who better to ask than the experienced staff, and so I was pointed towards Elvis.
I Only Eat Desserts
Princess Buttercup is my go to cupcake whether on a bad day or if Iā€™m in an indecisive mode or when I just want to eat a good cupcake. Crumbly, dense vanilla cupcake with a good mound of light vanilla buttercream frosting (look at the height of this beauty!) The frosting is like good old vanilla icecream ā€“ subtle yet thereā€™s something about it thatā€™s so much more (dear god, I feel like Iā€™m picking up a cupcake).

Grabbed a quick coffee at BTS cafe and had to physically remove myself from the cafe before I caved and got myself one of their deliciously looking cupcakes! -d BTS Cafe 33a Pirie Street Adelaide SA 5000 P 08 7220 4747 Opening Hours Mon - Fri: 7:30am - 4:30pm View Larger Map Advertisement --> Rate this: Share this: Facebook Twitter Email Like this: Like Be the first to like this post. Cupcakes are all the rage around the world, even in Australia. After brunch, we ventured to an adourable cupcake shop called BTS cafe. I loved the classy pink and black decor. I would love to have a room like this! And of course, we had to check out the cupcakes too! They come in two sizes. Since we were really really full from lunch, we ended up sharing two mini cupcakes between the three of us- salty dolls and farm boy . The names were pretty hilarious. The bite-szie cupcakes were adorable! I preferred the farm boy (spicy pumpkin cake with maple frosting), but both were moist and delicious. I can't really recall anything else about the cupcakes since I
