I have been here several times before but not for many years. Had raved about it to my wife. It didn’t let me down. The decor is still a bit off putting, but it really wouldn’t be Jerusalem without the tented ceiling and wooden benches. Get past that and you are treated to some of the best Middle Eastern food around. The falafel is still the best I have had anywhere, and the houmous is also magnificent. The desserts were to die for. The service was friendly and efficient. I shouldn’t have had the Lebanese coffee though; not if I wanted to sleep that night.
Amazing food, amazing prices.
Our waiter was wonderfully helpful and the service was quick. I was in a group of three and we opted for the banquet, there wasn't a dish we didn't enjoy. It is BYO only, but that makes it even more affordable. The interior hasn't really changed since I first went to Jerusalem as a child, but it's kitschy and warms my heart!
What an unassuming place to dine... I've passed by this place a million times and not once did it strike me to try it but I'm glad I did. We recently dined here in a big group and the food was amazing .... Cheap and tasty.. portions are small but for 8 bucks can you really complain! Service is fantastic... Also can U find anywhere in Adelaide banquets for 20 or 30 bucks per person ?
Okay location a bit awkward and decor quite bad and Dingy but once you get past these let downs and you eat the food you forget it all. The flavours and quality of food is fantastic! Will always return to this place. Even my parents have been eating here for 15 + Year’s!
The BEST middle eastern flavours in town. Like, THE best.
I have never had yummier hommus in my life. Babaganoush was outstanding, bread crispy, the falafel delicious and the chicken kebab so tender that it melts in your mouth.
Top it all off with grape juice and turkish delight and it's a winner.
The only downside is the service - the dude practically had no manners and even dropped a fork on my lap, staining my shirt and saying 'it's fine'. Good thing the food is outstanding.
The food at Jerusalem Sheshkebab House (JSH) is excellent value and it’s served fast, but, most importantly, it’s delicious and nutritious. No doubt the multitude of people, who have eaten at JSH, during the past 40 odd years, will agree but, sadly, many of us live in other parts of the country, or, worse still, in other countries, so we dream of a day when JSH is franchised far and wide. I could eat JSH food every day!
Best Okra Dish ever!! Delicious kebabs and the freshest tabouli! I always go to this place when i am in Adelaide! Whenever I take someone with me for their first time, they always impressed. This is proper, traditional Middle Eastern Food that you need to try!!
The restaurant has a bit of an unusual set up; there 4 seater diner-style booths for people dining in, but if you're after takeaway, you walk to the back of the restaurant where there is a tiiiny window that you order from. I took away a tub of hummus ($8.00). I prefer my hummus a little thicker so it's easier to scoop up with dip vehicles, but it was delicious nonetheless.
The staff who served me was very well-mannered, and there was another person wiping down tables who was extremely friendly and chatted to me while I waited for my takeaway (which was ready in a minute or so).
Keen to return to have a full meal here.
Economical, fresh meat, great flavouring and very hospitable chef.
This is very small traditional place which offers kebabs and rolls with some pita bread and freshly made hummus.
Carry cash when you visiting does not accept cards.

An old Adelaide icon and one of the best value restaurants around. I've dined at Jerusalem numerous times over many years and have never been disappointed.
Food:
Don't bother ordering anything other than the banquet, anything else is inefficient in time and money. The banquet consists of you picking a dollar figure between $20-30 (depending on how hungry you are) and then food coming out in a flurry 10 minutes later. The food is all delicious and for this price you will struggle to find better value - particularly when you can BYO drinks for free on banquets over $22.
Service:
The service is not overly friendly, but it's not bad either. They get the job done - orders are taken as soon as you're ready and the food comes out very promptly. If you consciously don't think about what's going on out the back you will enjoy the experience a lot more.
Ambience:
Whatever the opposite of glamorous is - that is how you would describe the decor here. It's so simple and nonchalant that you can't help but feel relaxed and let your hair down when you're there. It's perfect for a chilled catch up with a group of friends.
Simple delicious food for a reasonable price. I had the standard mixed platter which came with minced beef koftas, falafels, hummus, pita and salad. It was no fuss, simple food but so flavourful. The hummus and pita were perfect. The falafels were my favourite.
Its a dimly lit hole in the wall between two sheesha shops. The interior gives you a little bit of an authentic vibe. Perfect place to stop by for a good meal followed by sheesha. Will definitely return for more!

Consistently delicious, quick food delivery, and the entire place is run by one chef and one waiter on the floor. Best falafel in adelaide. Best beans and rice in adelaide. Best hummus in adelaide. Best baklava. Best everything! Do yourself a favour and come het and get a bargain banquet for $25 with free BYO!
Our group had the banquet... The food came out so fast that there was barely any room left on the table for all the dishes. The flavours were fantastic. Casual dining and great atmosphere.
Went for a girls night dinner before a show...Good food at good prices (enough to take home afterwards.) We took a bottle of wine as it's BYO, we were given plastic cups to use and our corkage was then waived with our banquet package deal. Will be returning!
Food was delicious! Big servings size, we got the banquet and was treated at $25 each we left rolling out of there! It’s not much on appearance but food delivered
