Review Gelato Bello - Adelaide

Connor Galvin-Ridge
A simple dessert place for your evening sugar fix, it would be better if the waffles were warmed up and not cold and the decor was a bit nicer.

Gelato Bello is a cute establishment with a nice variety of iced creams and gelatos. Tucked on the corner of a small shopping centre in Glynde, their icecream is flavoursome, with a consistent quality and worth the pricing. They also have a selection of cones and plated meals. The staff are helpful, and the shop has a relaxing vibe. Perfect for late night ice-cream runs or during the middle of a hot day!

As always, love their gelato very much.

Usually love this place, regular customer as the ice cream itself is great. Unfortunately tonight I was served by a young girl who only filled up my 2L tub 80% of the way. Disappointing as it's usually packed right to the brim!

Heard from a dear friend that this place should be a part of my "must try" list, and indeed they deliver to the expectation. I am surprised with the yummy flavors and the consistent creamy texture. Will definitely be back here!

Great place , gelato range was fantastic & the young girl ( woman ) who served was very knowledgeable , helpful & professional..

Great range but one of the young ladies with big glasses has to be one of the rudest girls ive ever had serving me there, dissapointing. Wont be in a rush to go back with the kids !

Gelato Bello says it serves authentic Italian gelato and it definitely does. I always judge a gelateria by their pistachio flavour. Rarely in Australia does pistachio gelato tastes like pistachio. At Gelato Bello the pistachio flavour tastes like pistachio and as good as what you get in Italy. So thumbs up from me. They also do a good cassata, salted caramel and black forest flavour. #gelatobello

Great surburban gelato shop. The staff are very friendly and there's a heap of flavors to choose from. They also do a platter for sharing that looks great. There's some indoor and outdoor seating available and of your not into gelato you can also pickup up a coffee. Then a try.

Visitors to this popular Adelaide gelateria don’t come for the ambience – they are here for the gelati. Generous servings and a team of friendly staff keep visitors happy. It can be very crowded, with long queues in summer. Special mention for the blood orange sorbet.

First time walking into this place and boy were they crowded !! Clearly a local favourite.. good range of gelatos ... A tad bit too sweet for me (only because my personal preference is creamy and less sweet) however my friends enjoyed it thoroughly so it was probably just me... I'll come back next time to try their crepes ;)

Have driven past this place couple of times and today just had a chance to try it out. Been hearing mixed review so I needed to taste it myself. Ordered a two-scoops cup of ice cream, dark chocolate + salted caramel. I have to say that the dark chocolate was pretty great. I would come back for that since not many places serve dark chocolate ice cream! Salted caramel was just okay. Nothing special but with the combo, it blended well. Maybe would try 2-3 more other flavors next time. Had a cappucino too. Not great. Coffee was really bitter (compared to some good places) and sour (maybe my palette was contaminated with the ice cream already?). Not a coffee place for me. I would go there just for the ice cream. ALSO, ice cream's after taste was great. It didnt give you thick saliva after effect or husky throat afterwards like how cheap ice cream would do to you.

Have had sweet treats from Gelato Bello plenty of times over the years. Lots of flavours of gelato and sorbet to choose from. Ice cream cakes can also be ordered and they look and taste amazing! Be prepared to wait if it’s a hot summer night. There’s also a shop at Semaphore for those in the West.
Poppie
Poppie popped into gelato Bello for the first time today. The gelato and sorbet is ok. Not the best he's had. The flavours could be a little more intense for Poppies liking. They're a tad on the tame side. Recommend the gelato for dessert if you're ever around the Eastern suburbs

Our go to for gelato! The waffle cone with chocolate is an absolute must, when you reach the end of your cone you will be treated with melted chocolate goodness! I will always return when the gelato cravings hit!

Love the coconut gelato from Gelato Bello. There are so many delicious flavours to choose from, with special artisan monthly flavours. If you're dining in, don't got past the brioche gelato burger or the Belgian waffles.
The Foodie
The best gelato shop ever! Simple gelatos and lots of flavours (at least 24) no fuss. Their gelatos are very creamy, and full of flavour. Toblerone gelato and blood orange sorbet are my favourite. At $3.90 per scoop and $1 for choc coated waffle cone their prices are reasonable and scoops are generous. My regular go to gelato place!!

Gelato is actually pretty awful to be honest and we tried 6 flavours in total. I would say it is very bland. I'd go to 48 flavours in Chinatown any day!

Recently moved to the area I was keen to go get back to gelato Bello, as I hadn't been since it moved from Malvern years ago. Great to see nothing has changed. Authentic, generous serves of smooth delicious icecream that is never icy. A lot of the time the line is out the door. Says it all!

Gelato Bello is some of the best Gelato in Adelaide and the pictures of the lines out the door really show just how popular it is!

I came here tonight and there was a line at least 30 people deep, with the little cafe already full with people, young & old eating there.

The Gelato is creamy and tasty, with some great flavour combinations. My favourites are honeycomb and ferrero rocher. They freshly coat your cones with warm chocolate which pools at the bottom for an extra treat after you've eaten your Gelato.

This place is an institution on Glyndburn road which should definitely be tried by everyone. They are open super late, so try!

Okay, okay I have said a never of times that places are my favourite but Gelato Bello is my favourite. Partly nostalgic, partly just plan good. I weep that their Unley Road store never panned out as I have to drive an an extra 15 minutes just to delight and these fine desserts. They have great flavours across the board and they've been doing them for years. You can tell by the 1950s show front and barber next door that I am pretty sure is exactly them same as it was when it opened 50 years ago. Probably not that long but they're is dust on counters from which hair products have been sold and removed and a nudie calendar and smoke machine.

Anyway all the choc and nut favourites and even some alcohol flavoured ones. Though I think these are a bit rarer then when I first at here 15 years ago. Since then they have even added Gelato cakes, waffles and crepes. Summer time you can expect to wait because the line is out the door but they stay open extra late just to accommodate. Back in the day the owner used to sing and have little poems he would say whenever you made a flavour choice. It is missing this now but I just adore this place. It feels like another time. A simpler time. A sweeter time.
