Review Cocolat - Adelaide

Large selection of dessert. The dark chocolate sorbet is rich in flavour and light in texture. Wanted to try their award winning Ferrero Rocher gelato but not available. The closest was Hazelnut Royale.

My daughter took me here to celebrate my coming of age 😆 it was my birthday and she knows I have a sweet tooth. This place also happens to be one of her favourite places in the city. It was just after 3 in the afternoon and the place was not busy. We ordered a cappuccino and one slice each of the carrot cake and the chocolate, pistachio and pear cake (yummy). The coffee came quite quickly with some very impressive latte art. There was a slight mix up with the cake order and we were served a slice of banana cake instead of the carrot cake. The young lady quickly rectified this when she realised the error. The chocolate, pistachio and pear cake was very good and well worth the price. Perfect consistency, taste and with the right amount of sweetness. The chocolate layer on top was perfect! The carrot cake on the other hand suffered in comparison. The icing was a bit too sweet for my liking. However, my daughter preferred the carrot cake to the chocolate cake, so there you go! Figure that out. By the way, we had the run of the place so we could sit wherever we chose to. We had to pay up front for our order but this was not a problem. The staff (two of them) stayed behind the counter all the while except when bringing out our orders. Will definitely visit this place again. Perhaps on my own so I can get a bigger helping of cake 😆

I always come here with my friend, as my friend is gluten-intorlerant, they provide lots of desserts that are gluten free and i love their hot white chocolate.

I visited cocolat recently and my meal was truly bad. I ordered a triple chocolate crepe and it came to my table looking very disappointing. A SINGLE crepe with a small dollop of whipped cream and 1 white,milk and dark chocolate drops (the triple chocolate) which cost $12.95 I might add. To add to this disappointment the smell I got from the meal was atrocious. It smelled like sour milk and eggs. The crepes tasted extremely much like that as well. So much that it was inedible and made me feel very sick to the stomach. My friends had simple food which they enjoyed however my meal was not good.

Do it. You will be sorry if you miss it. Their range of hot chocolate drinks and cakes are my go to when visiting ADL. They also have lighter savoy meals and ice creams. Overdose on their sweetie heaven.

Turkish delight dark hot choc excellent. Not on menu so ask for it - they add rose syrup. Like waking up in a bed of roses ! Strawberry gelato a big winner with Moo. Great serving too

When there specifically for the sticky date pudding which was on the online menu. When we arrived no one greeted us at the door and we had to find our own table. Pick up the menu only to see that the sticky date along with several other desserts had been crossed out with a permanent marker...one word disappointed.

Always such lovely service here, and the chocolate domes are exquisite. It's a shame the mint flavour was taken off the menu, but the strawberry is almost as good!
