Review Please Say Please - Adelaide

Bustling little hole in the wall coffee shop on Grenfell street. It was so nice to see that even when it was busy, every customer was greeted! All coffee available and even some really nice looking snacks šŸ˜

Nice coffee but no explanation for the alarm going off in the shop while I sat waiting. Once the alarm turned off, one guy behind the counter was talking to his coworker with every second word being the F word. Such a limited vocabulary.

Lovely soup for lunch here today, Please say Please is essentially a hole in the wall coffee bar with a spattering of great food options. Aside from the food & coffee, what was super impressive was that every single person that entered the shop was greeted warmly & with sincerity unlike many other places who simply donā€™t greet their customers at all. Great work one & all

Lovely little coffee shop, quiet and out of the way, but very fine coffees. Owner uses good quality beans. Food available too, not tried yet but looks good . My macchiato was delicious.

One of the busiest coffee shops in cbd. The coffee and food is good for a quick bite. One of their quirks is the interesting messages they write on their board, which makes it for an amusing read!

Great coffee and the brownie is to die for! Tony and Jazmyn has also been friendly and the best part is that they remember your coffee order!

Friendly chat with a short mac, great coffee!

Coffee was prefect temperature, and tasted great. As the chalk on the wall saidā€¦ Coffee first then the world.

Every week they have a different flavoured macaron on offer along with delicious looking biscuits (many of which are vegan). Their coffee is always excellent. Whilst the warm weather is around they sometimes offer their coffee iceblocks!

Great little spot for a cup of coffee and toastie. The interior gives off a really warm vibe, but the only downside is that it gets really noisy with all the cars and buses passing by.

I love this cute little cafe hidden somewhere the busy streets of Grenfell! Good Macarons and great range of hot beverages! It could be a bit jam packed during their peak hours tho their customer service and products are worth every wait ! šŸ˜

Dropped by this morning to grab breakfast on the go. Settled on a Chai porridge with honey & almonds to warm me up on this dreary day. I don't know whether it was because they didn't have a bigger takeaway container, but the portion was tiny for $9! It filled a skinny, tall coffee cup, which isn't much at all. Luckily I wasn't particularly hungry, otherwise it wouldn't have filled me up. That aside, the porridge was tasty and the staff were lovely.

When in the city, deciding you need a coffee break, then visit. Please Say Please in Grenfell St Adelaide, could be your answer. I have stopped by on a number of occasions, and always been satisfied. It is the quality of the coffee that keeps drawing me back. Proud Mary coffee, just makes me say "YES" when ever I taste it. There is a light menu available, but every thing is fresh and delicious, all at reasonable prices. Beanhunter have listed this Cafe #1 in Adelaide. Top Cafe 2015. I can only recommend.

Cute little establishment and a very warm welcome from staff. Although, I had the halloumi eggplant toasty which I didn't enjoy. Way too much bread and not enough filling. For $8 I expected more.

I also didn't like my coffee but that's my personal preferences to flavour, I guess.

The location, urban deco and lovely staff are definitely the highlight. It's a pity I just didn't like what I ordered.

Want a coffee to start your day? Please Say Please is my go-to place and my daily driver. They are located on Grenfell Street near City Cross and in front of all the Obarn bus stops. They offer indoor seating but there is literally one or two tables. However that isn't a problem for them since majority of their customers have their coffee on the go, including myself. The coffee here is one of my favourite in Adelaide as their coffee have a strong rich taste and is enough to power me through a full day. The coffee maybe more expensive and smaller in comparison to others but its definitely worth it. The staff are also really friendly and that's a huge positive for me because they really brighten up my day, and sets a good tone for me to head off to work.

I will continue purchasing my daily coffee from them and I would recommend others to try Please Say Please if you're like me and need your morning coffee.

I don't think I can survive an early lecture day without a coffee from these guys. Perfect temperature for soy milk E-V-E-R-Y T-I-M-E. A please say please a day keeps the doctor away!

It didn't have it. It just din't have it people. I don't if it was because I was expecting more, but Please Say Please just didn't have much. It was late in the afternoon and I hadn't eaten in hours but I don't think that can excuse slightly, ever so slightly but enough to notice, burnt extraction and lukewarm milk. Not with 30 other coffee shops in the CBD doing far better quality.

Not a lot to say about this place really. It was tiny, almost missable but too big to be considered cute. If its hole in the wall I want that barista staring out at the street, steam spilling out from his constant maintenance of his or her wand. Maybe I'll go back. Time will tell.

coffee that is the perfect temperature to drink quickly before a lecture is always good coffee! can't go wrong with the macaroons either (also, everyone's always super friendly)
Rachel Lee
The best cappuccino I've tasted yet! Though it does tend to cool down quickly so you gotta drink up quickly. But perfection otherwise, and you HAVE to try their ever changing macaroons, perfect to treat yourself with while you sip your coffee ā˜ŗļø

Please Say Please Arrogance. If you can put up with the lack of service from these prideful self-obsessed coffee guys with a total air of arrogance then head here to this 'hole' in the wall coffee shop. It *was* really good, but 2 years on the coffee is way too variable and you can't bank of them for your coffee fix anymore as it might be burnt, cold, warm or any combination thereof. Luckily, Adelaide has many great choices to get consistent and excellent coffee without the arrogance as brought about by being one of the first shops built on the back of Proud Mary Coffee. I am thoroughly disappointed and now I can see why my office of 250+ have moved on.

If you want a far superior coffee with the ambiance of a 'real' coffee shop, then move right along folks.
But I'm Hungry Now
I want some more, please!. Great little hole in the wall on Grenfell Street with friendly, cool staff. I always look forward to their weekly macaron and cronut creations - you won't get flavours like these anywhere else. They also serve lovely hot chocolate.
I've since tried their danish pastries - delicious with layers of sweet, crispy pastry and yummy fillings.

Great!. So good! Too good... Maybe they are coffee wizards.

Amazing!!. Love this place! I'm a regular here. Incredible coffee, and amazing desserts. Loove their danishes and macarons. A really funky coffee spot.

Great Coffee. One of the best place to have coffee if you are in the mall. Excellent.

Fantastic. Really great coffee!

Best coffee shop in Adelaide! The coffee is always perfect, they remember what I have when I stop by in the mornings. Food and pastries are always fresh (the fig and hazelnut bread is delicious) and the service is really pleasant. The one downside is that I can't drink coffee from other places anymore because it just doesn't compare :)

Good decent coffee. Servicing is good too.

Best coffee in CBD hands down. House blend is great, plus always some new bean/origin to try each week either in espresso or pour over. "Tasting plate" concept was brilliant, allowing you to taste how different one bean can be with a short black, flat white and pour over - serious genius. This is the place for serious coffee connoisseurs.
Sam
Top quality coffee. Consistently good coffee and good service and atmosphere. But please offer a take away coffee cup size that is larger than the "regular" and smaller than the "large". Pretty please!
Jake
Good coffee, awesome service, the place looks excellent and the soup is delicious

A Coffee Epiphany. Great look; great feel; great choice of the owner to buck the trend and offer Proud Mary coffee. This place is done so well. Particularly like the 'Flight of Coffee's - incredible! Definitely setting a new (high) city standard.

Hole in the wall. Tiny, but good coffeeā€”pour over I had was very nice, and obviously beans are well taken care of. A bit puzzled about why Proud Mary is the coffee of choice; would prefer a house roast to an import, but a minor quibble really given that this place does the basics right.
Foodie12
I love the location, I love the layout, what they offer, including customer service but the coffee was just a tad too milky, I'm not sure why since I ordered in a take away cup (their small is smaller than a standard coffee shop t/a cup) I'll definitely give them another go but just a heads up if the owners read this :)

Little hole in the wall place serving excellent coffee- we had espressos and strong, flavoursome and smooth with good level of bitterness. Apparently the only place in Adelaide to have Proud Mary coffee. Will try a pour over next time+ pastries look and smell pretty good too!

Favourite coffee in Adelaide! Really know what they're doing, too service, and most importantly, great coffee! A bit small but that only adds to the atmosphere! Definitely recommend it if you're around rundle mall and after a great alternative to Cibo!
Callum
Best coffee in Adelaide cbd! Saw they are using proud mary coffee, which is from my favourite cafe in Melbourne. Definitely give it a try if you need a coffee in the city!

Iā€™m not really a big coffee drinker but I do know that Please Say Please have a reputation for making great coffee. As a follower of them on Instagram, a picture of their macarons appeared on my news feed as I was working out at the gym.

Dubbed the 'Willy Wonkaroon' this macaron has to be the prettiest I've seen, not only was it pink and purple it had a coating of gold and silver shimmer! Flavour-wise it was a unique combination of salted vanilla bean, dark chocolate, burnt toffee, lemon zest and roasted peanuts. Have to say, possible the best macaron I've had, really good crunch, not full of air, a decent amount of filling and a super delicious combination of flavours. Please Say Please change macaron flavour on a weekly basis I think, but I'd certainly recommend grabbing one if your in the area or looking for something sweet to go with their coffee :)

Iā€™d be more than willing to say please to get my hands on one of the specialty coffees at Please Say Please on Grenfell Street. With just a few covers, this hole in the wall style establishment is not a place to linger for long; but to enjoy a takeaway coffee with one of their mouth watering pastries before work ā€“ perfect!
