Review Tiffany Thai Cafe - Adelaide

Great service and nice foodšŸ˜Š but the dishes are not really traditional comparing to another Thai restaurant that I visited in Glenelg.
Leah Stewart
For the price the portions are too small and the quality is average. The cashew nut below was $18, far too expensive for the quantity.

I give Tiffany 1 āļø for the Coke in the bottle. Warm table water in metal cups. Service and hostess was shocking. She was not friendly at all. I asked for two small bowls so my daughters could share the Pad Thai and hostess gave me one. I had to get her attention again to get a second one and they mustnā€™t have enough bowls because she complained about bowls being for something so she found a chipped plate. Pad Thai was disgusting. TINY serving and half bean sprouts. Chicken basil was flavourless. Entree chicken satay was nice. Didnā€™t want to pay!

Polite, timely and attentive staff. Interior was clean, comfortable and pleasant. Food was fresh with vibrant flavors and colorful fresh ingredients. The staff took good care of us and this was very much appreciated by us. We will certainly revisit Tiffanys at the next chance we get.

Best restaurant on Gouger. Good prices, in fact they could easily charge more and people would still think they got a bargain. The staff are the nicest people, and go to great lengths to make sure you have a good experience. This is not just your average Thai place. I think I found the best Thai I'm Adelaide.

3.5 stars if I could give such a number - Lateish on a Monday night I ordered the fish cakes and the green chicken curry. The fish cakes were quite small, but they were well cooked and tasted good. The dipping sauce that accompanied them was very nice, and had a real kick to it. The green chicken curry was definitely the hottest 'standard' green chicken curry I've ever had. I didn't specifically order it to be 'hot', and for someone who eats a lot of hot food, I found it almost too hot to be bearable. Its flavour was okay, but I was too busy pouring myself extra glasses of water and wiping my running nose to really enjoy it. To those with delicate tastebuds, I'd recommend you try something else on the menu!

This Resturant was recommended by a friend who had a very nice dining experience. Tonight, in company with this friend, 4 of us dined. From the welcome greeting to the courtesy and friendliness of the staff, the lovely ambience of the surrounds, the meals, both in quantity and presentation were excellent. A complete and enjoyable dining experience. I have read some adverse reviews and personally I would recomend one disregards them and enjoy Tiffany Thai.

Visited on a Saturday. The waitress is utterly ill-mannered and constantly on her phone. Ignoring all customer coming into the restaurant. Waited 15 mins without service. Average food with disappointing service, and a waitress with temper. simply put- do not recommend.

Portions were very disappointing. Iā€™m not sure what the portions would be like if you dine in at the restaurant because I got the food delivered on Uber eats, but the dishes that I received were very small. Iā€™ve ordered the pad Thai which tasted average, and the mixed seasonal vegetable tasted a bit better but definitely not worth the $13.80 which such small portion size (thereā€™s literally two bits of broccoli, five pieces of carrots and rest are bean sprouts and bokchoy).

Food was quite good - I have no complaints about its flavour, everything tasted very nice - and so was the presentation of it; with everything in these elegant little bowls. The place itself is also decorated quite nicely, and the staff was polite.

The reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because, while we did enjoy the food quite a lot, it was also pretty small for its price, and I just feel like it'd be easier to go to another Thai place with the same dishes but cheaper than to spend extra at this place for essentially the same result.

Perhaps if this was my local restaurant, I'd be more inclined to become a regular customer, but as it's pretty far from me and there are plenty of cheaper, more generous Thai places nearer to me, I don't think this place is worth me returning to.

Saturday evening dinner with friends. Very nice decor inside and the sliding door keeps street noise at bay to enable conversation. Polite staff, friendly in a kind of removed way. Entre spring rolls tasty enough with the chicken hokken mains the stand out for flavour and size. The masaman lamb curry and Mongolian beef stuff fry tasty but somewhat underdone in portion size. A bit disappointing unfortunately. Rest of it was good.
Was very nice inside and a good layout plenty of room. Food was great maybe a little bit pricey but very enjoyable. Would definitely eat here again.

Nice Thai food, not your cheap Thai but not expensive. Meal servings were ok. Nice settings, not really too much else to say, I guess my rating reflects this!

Outstanding food, not your usual Thai slops on a plate. Beautifully presented and fresh.
Lovely atmosphere too.
Unfortunately, the service was extremely lacking. We had to get the attention of someone to place our order as we had been waiting a while and not even asked if we wanted drinks. After we ordered food and drinks, the drinks were delivered and we were asked if we wanted to order food??? A clear lack of communication.
We were not made aware of any specials, I later discovered a specials board...
No one checked on us to ask if everything was okay. Apart from the inattentive service, everything was great.

Amazing food and good service , my wife had barramundi Choo Chee and it was amazing I had the chilli prawns which was also excellent great service and a nice warm atmosphere

Located along Gouger st Tiffany Thai is a very short walk from the Central Market carpark. As soon as we walked in we could smell the beautiful aromas throughout the restaurant. I ordered the Pandan Chicken for entree which was so delicious! For main I had the Spicy Seafood and Mince Salad and there was no denying it was spicy....packet of chilli! Great flavours but it was unfortunately full of red onion and contained very little seafood or mince.

Absolutely love it here. The food is full of flavor and well priced. Can here tonight and loved the cashew chicken stir-fry! Also recently renovated and it looks lovely. Thank you!

I was looking for something simple and quick for dinner. Tiffany was friendly, welcoming and the food served quickly and was flavoursome. The char grill lemongrass chicken was great - the flavours well balanced and I love lemongrass flavour in food.

Ordered the Green Curry Chicken and it was supposed fto have a two chilli rating but could taste no heat at all. Ā All the dishes we had appear to have been prepared in a Chinese way and no authentic Thai food was presented to us. Ā Reasonable pricing is the only reason for 2.5 stars. Ā If you want Thai food this is NOT the place to come but if you are after a relatively cheap meal on Gouger St then this place is OK.

New management at Tiffany Thai since Aug 2015 and recent visit last night impressed me. We had Green Curry Chicken, Crumbed Barramundi in Special Source, Crispy Chicken and Chargrilled Chicken and a nice bottle of Barossa Valley Shiraz which come really well with the food. The food was fabulous and reasonably priced. Just need to improve on the service further. However staffs are all friendly. Highly recommended. Keep it up!

Another Thai that we used to go but now abandoned due to better alternatives. I remember their food were OK and the price was also OK but just didn't have the wow dishes. I don't mind going again if there is a very good deal but it seems to be unlikely as they are busy and popular already.

We had high expectations for this restaurant but sadly poor management left us very disappointed. We booked a table a week in advance because we new on a Friday night it would be busy. Sadly when we got to the restaurant we were told that our table had just been given to someone else (even though we were ten minutes early for the booking) and we would have to sit outside. We were promised that smokers would not be an issue outside, which they were and the table was on a slope so items rolled off it. Originally we were only given two menus and one set of cutlery for a table of four because that was all they had. We then ordered but had to wait an hour for our meals to come out with our waitress apologising profusely. It surprised us that throughout all this they were still bringing in customers without bookings to sit inside. The meals were quite nice, but the beginning of the night really ruined it and the management of this restaurant really needs work if it is going to succeed.

Nice Little City Cafe ..... We had friends staying in the Hilton Hotel and we wanted somewhere close by to go out for dinner with them.

The Tiffany Thai CafƩ was conveniently located just a 5 minute walk away, so we decided to give it a try.

For a Wednesday night, the cafƩ was very busy. It is only a small restaurant (probably hold around 50 people?), so we were lucky to find 1 table of 4 not taken.

They had a $22 deal on offer, for an entrƩe and a main meal.
There were exclusions that were clearly marked on the menu but the choices were numerous and varied, so you didn't feel deprived!

We chose entrƩe's of Salt & Pepper Fish, Thai Salad (x2) and Satay Chicken and the mains were Lemongrass Seafood, Sizzling Garlic Prawns (x2) and Spare ribs. We had 2 servings of their Fried Rice to share - it was beautiful, with big pieces of chicken in it.
In fact, all the food was delicious, good value and served with a smile.

Proportions were generous. So generous in fact that we couldn't eat it all, so opted to take the leftovers home with us.
As the reviewer below stated, there was a charge of 50 cents for the container and a bag. The charge was explained and you have the option of refusing. We chose to pay it. Yes, I guess it is a bit steep and it is the only place I've been to that does charge but that did not detract from a great meal and wouldn't stop me from going back.

Recommend .....

50 cents for a Doggy Bag WTF !. What an experience waitress had no idea spoke no English, unsure where to put the meals on the table.
Made a mistake with my bill came out running for me to say there was an error and had to charge me a further $24

And to top it off I asked to take the remaining food home and she had the audacity to say "yes for $0,50 we can do for you" !!!!!

Customer service appalling

Don't bother !

Terrible. One of the dishes was so! SALTY that we could not eat it at all. Then the waitress collected it and asked what was wrong we told her that it was so salty that we could not eat it - inedible! They only took $2off the dish??!!
The food was below average, not impressed at all. It is not authentic at all. It is owned by chinese trying to cook thai. This explained how salty and greasy it was. Will not return or recommend.

Green curry chicken. This place has a nice feel to it and is clean with friendly staff. The green curry dish tastes yummy, however I would say it is not a traditional thai style. I have been here few times, I found some very delicious and others quite average. Overall, it is a place I would eat again.

NIce place, nice food. Good food, good service, good pricing. Food nothing spectacular but tasty

Tasty and good value. It's not truly authentic Thai, but the food still has plenty of flavour, especially the crispy spiced duck (though not necessarily crispy). The waiters are pleasant and the service is good. Setting is nicely done up, though could do with some wall decorations to add more personality as opposed to posters.

Value wise, the prices are fair, and om nom nom! The black rice dessert was delicious! (companions also liked their desserts too).

Fast service lovely waiters. I ordered the Massaman curry, it tasted average but there was wayyyyy to much oil in it...left a oily feel on my lips and I only had 2 littlw pieces of potatoe and the rest was onions and a few piece of meat....I wouldnt order it again.

Not really Thai. I found the staff here on the night we went to be very pleasant & friendly, the food on the other hand was not that good. ordered the food to come out at the same time, 1 entree, 2 mains & rice for 2, entree came, no share plates or cutlery so we ate with our fingers. 1 main come & the rice about 10 mins later, 2nd main come after we had finished & thought they had forgotten. Not very impressed! The Thai influence ends with the name! lucky it was cheap!

This is a mid range restaurant in price, quality and quantity. Flavour wise, everything was quite one dimensional. Salt and pepper fish was quite salty, stir fry was smothered in sweet chilli sauce, and everything else (a duck curry and a soup) just tasted of coconut milk. But you know what? I liked it. Service is a bit curt but I've experienced worse from other restaurants on Gouger.

Had lunch here today as we had an entertainment card with us. Nice restaurant, but lacking in atmosphere. I ordered the Thai chicken salad. On the menu it did not state that the chicken was hot, so was a bit surprised when a huge plate of mixed lettuce leaves, tomato, cucumber & beans shoots came with hot jellyish vermicelli noodles & hot poached chicken on top. There was no coriander, no mint, no peanuts & no sour sauce-which it was supposed to have, just sweet chilli sauce....I was very disappointed.
My partner ordered the pud Thai. It was okay, chicken was cooked well but noodles were over cooked.
Not sure I'd bother going back.

I will never go there. 22 dollars special is absolutely rip- off, the entree is so small on the plate, the curry is so bloody spicy, the prawn has no flavour, the service is rud, they not welcome kid at all.
Bad restaurant , terrible food, scary stuff, do not know how they has not closed.

Love it. Love their Thai food here. Very affordable and an under-rated restaurant. I've been here three times and on all occasions, have been impressed. Will visit again when I find the opportunity.

Solid Thai food.. My wife and I ate here on a busy Adelaide Saturday night. Service was fast and economical but not at all rude, just efficient. We were being poured water as we sat down. The restaurant was well staffed despite being nearly full, on the ball for drinks straight away etc. Very warm and cosy atmosphere inside, appropriate lighting for dinner. The food was good - I ordered hot and sour soup which was brilliant, rich sweet lime flavour, and my wife ordered spring rolls (she's addicted) which were average. Mains were good (not brilliant); my yellow chicken curry was under flavoured (having spent some time in SE Asia I feel I can judge) but pleasant. My wife ordered a sizzling chicken, chilli and basil dish which was very good.
Overall - very efficient service, solid food which met our expectations (we wanted something quick and tasty) but flavours were probably compromised to western tastes. We may go back, but Gouger street at the moment seems to have a lot of new restaurants.

Very rude service. Right from the point of entry into the restaurant we experienced rude service from the girl at the counter. We were ignored when we walked in. Waited to be seated but no one came up to us. Finally after trying to make eye contact with the waitress numerous time, she pointed to a table close to the back of the restaurant. The table was too small for 3 people so we finally asked to be moved to a bigger table when one freed up. We had to take our own drinks and menu along with us to the new table. There were dirty plates on that table, the waitress walked by a nunber of times and even took our order but was not interested in cleaning the table. I finally asked her to remove the dirty plates. She did but did not wipe the table down. I had to ask her to do that too. We had pad Thai and Pad See Ew for lunch. We ordered from the lunch menu. The food was a dissapointment. Pad Thai did not taste like pad Thai. I have eaten many pad Thai in my lifetime and this is by far one of the worst.

When it was time to pay, we tried to use the Entertainment Card but was told that we were not allowed to use it because we ordered from the lunch menu. When I mentioned that nowhere does it say on their menu that the entertainment card was not valid for the lunch menu I was told it was the manager's policy and it does not matter that it wasn't written down anywhere, the manager has the final word. I rang the Entertainment Book Publication to tell tham what's happened. Entertainment Publication was very good about the whole thing, they said the restaurant has to honor the card and they tried calling the restaurant to explain the conditions to them. The waitress was standing right next to the phone when it rang but she refused to pick it up knowing that it was the Entertainment Publications calling them. When I went back up to the counter, she told me although I had no right to a discount she would give it to me. She was very rude about the whole thing. I was treated like charity when it was my right to the discount.

I will not be back.

It was a lovely place for dining but it would be exaggerating to consider their cuisine Thai food. If you do not have a clear idea how Thai food is exactly like, perhaps Tiffany is somewhere you get a taste of Asian cuisine and hospitality. However they do not serve genuine Thai food. It was a let down for us who travel to Bangkok annually for real Thai food.

Decently price and quite nice. Squid was a bit chewy but all in all a good experience. Would recommend

Good value and tasty. Dropped in for a late dinner around 10pm when most of Gouger Street was buzzing on a Thursday night. Not a soul in there which always rings alarm bells but the prices seemed very reasonable and we were hungry so we gave it a go.

Welcoming and friendly staff, great service and very tasty food made this a winner for us. Despite what others have said the salt and pepper squid and and fish entrees were cooked perfectly and the mains were delicious. Not a 5 star restaurant by any means and a fairly run of the mill Thai menu but plenty of choices, exceptional value and great food made it a winner for us.

Yum. Food was yum. G/F said it was the best fish she has had in Australia. Tom yum soup was a little bit different, but very nice. Would definitely return. Service and price both good.

Pumpkinpie. What's with all the negative reviews???
My husband and I always end up back here when we
want good Thai food. The food has always been consistently good and we try and get something different all the time. Salt and pepper tofu was fantastic,as was
s & p calamari. Pad thai is one of the best.
Service is just fine and not in your face.
Highly recommended,really!

Amazing food ad the staff were friendly and helped us choose dishes we would like..

Absolutely shocking service! Ordered food and coke. One hour later no food and no drink. Finally after one hour got my coke and it was flat! People sitting on a nearby table were in the same boat. However, they made a complaint and got free entree and two glasses of wine. Waiters didn't bother to do the same thing for other customers who were patiently waiting. Not even apologies! They just completely ignored people who didnt complain. I hope this restaurant will go out of business sooner than later.
BeeGee
Not very nice. Shocking service. got the mains before the entre. finally got the entres only to be served the same mains (reheated!) that were sent back earlier. Never again!
James
Amazingly cheap food, given the location and quality. One of my favourite Thai restaurants in Adelaide. Highly recommended.

Omg my boyfriend and I love it here. We eat thai food quite regularly and always end up back at tittfany thai :). The laksa is a must, it is really really good.

Bad food. 'Salt & Pepper prawns' with NO flavouring, soft batter (re-heated maybe) and luke warm prawns? Not a good meal. Not the best feeling waiting to get sick from it!

My husband had the barramundi and found it very tough and not very flavoursome.

I really bad experience unfortunately.
