Review Rosey's Cafe - Adelaide

Been here twice this month. Both times great service. Second visit I brought my wheelchair-rolling mate and they were so accommodating and helpful. There's a couple steps but there's another entrance point too. Great food too!

Trendy little place to hangout. Good menu including lots of tea and fresh juice, ice water for the table and a genuine vibe. One thing to consider, we had to wait for a table and there was an unusual amount of people with dogs. Also the price are good.

A really cute spot for a bite or just a coffee. Popped in to meet a friend for a coffee and a brownie, sat outside in the gorgeous little courtyard and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

We ordered an egg Benedict,Chicken salad and two coffees on Sunday.Food does take some time to come out in weekend but it is so worth the wait!! Beautifully presented and delicious!! Really recommend.

A great surprise. Was greeted very cheerily on entering and shown to our table. Menu catered for all dietary requirements and meal sizes were more than adequate. Great coffee too. All round a great experience and will definitely be returning.

What a great Unley local, we are so blessed with the absolutely delightful food and service on our doorstep here at Rosey’s! I enjoyed the French toast and hot chocolate. My friends tried the mushrooms and fritters, and both were super satisfied with their breakfasts . I’ll be back for lunch as the specials seem deliciously varied and unique. :).
Lulu
They used to be serving very nice food but when we came back we were disappointed a lot, the food took more than 40 minutes to revive and the potion of the meal became very very small . I’m not a big eater but I’m still hungry after the meal , the price is over price concerning the potion . Also the food came out as not warm, probably it sat for a while in the bench.

Love this place for brunch. Good range of vegetarian options too - I always need a big veggie breakfast on the menu (too many places only have one meat version of this this then the veggie dishes are always too small). Cooked nicely and they seem to use quality ingredients. Only drawback is that like most places, the other veggie dishes (besides the one with the lot) are quite small. But no smaller than other brunch cafés. Staff are always nice

Probably one of my favourite places to have brunch, the food is always served in a timely matter and tastes amazing, and the staff are lovely

As a vegan I find it hard to go out to a cafe and get more than one option - not at Rosey's. So many options on the all day breakfast menu and staff were so helpful at helping my friend pick and choose things off the lunch menu (this changes all the time and is written up on the cutest roll of paper!) Oh - they use organic coffee and have milklab milk too!
Love it

What a great little cafe. Sat outside in the courtyard on a beautiful sunny day. Service was promt and friendly. I had the fritters and my friend had the veggie bowls - both were yummy! Coffee was amazing. Will be back for sure!

Unfortunately Rosey’s Cafe was a disappointment for us. We visited on a Sunday for a late lunch over the long weekend. We found the staff to be preoccupied with each other and sat listening to their private conversations for about 15 minutes before being served. Eventually we were served and we received our breakfast. We ordered two small orange juices (they were tiny) and to eat, the avo with feta on sourdough toast and the poached eggs with bacon on toast. The food was very average (avo wasn’t ripe) and the serving sizes small. We were charged $48 all up and left hungry and feeling very unsatisfied for what we payed. Two additional things we’d like note, the OJ’s were $7.50 each (tiny tiny glasses half filled with ice) and the toast was served with a drizzle of olive oil. No butter. Whipped butter would have been an additional $2.50 each per serve.

Rosey's is one of my locals, so I wish I liked it, but I just can't. Having been many times (always hopeful) I have never received above average service here. The ambience is all a bit weird, and the coffee is not good. The food I would give 4/5, which is probably why I keep going back, but it is over priced. I've decided I'm not going to return, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to conclude to that.

Such a funky & welcoming atmosphere.
In simpler words, Rosey's is like Argos without the social media hype & the long wait.

The staff are always friendly & every meal is always welcomed with a smile.

The food has been fantastic every time, the juices are amazing although depend on what fruit & veg is available so it's usually a "what have you got?" --"okay I'll have such & such" which isn't an issue for me although some customers may like to pick a drink straight from a menu.

Overall Rosey's is my local although is definitely worth the drive if you're not in the area.

The only negative is they do not do split bills although it isn't a problem for me as it us usually my partner or myself paying together.

Went on a Sunday around 11 am, was nice and staff were polite. I had looked at the menu previous to going into their cafe, but it definitely not what I expected.

Coffees were okay, nothing to rave about. We ordered the equivalent to the big breakfast "full spread" and the vegan breakfast. As we were ordering I didn't want something on the vegan breakfast, so politely I was about to ask "can I swap..." before I could finish my sentence she shut me down abruptly "we don't do swaps". I do understand that you get busy you can't have people, adding and taking etc. That being said it's not that hard to make an extra mushroom and put it on my plate... instead of charging me $4.50!!!!!!! For 3 mushrooms! So I just left it.

There was a pathetic amount of food on the plate for paying $22 (there was a 10% surcharge as well on Sunday's and Public Holiday's) We completely understand that you have to pay your staff on weekends significantly more, but this was ridiculous! For example, We both got half a tomato, one rash of bacon on the full spread, and vegan breakfast had 3, yes 3, tiny mushrooms, two pathetic sized pieces of toast and other things obviously. The taste was also nothing to rave about.

As we were eating we had entertainment by the four or three workers talking amongst themselves, laughing having a great chat at the top of their lungs.

I do not think I could ever justify going back to pay this amount of money for what I received food wise and for service.

Will not be recommending this to anyone!

We came in with quite a large group. The organiser pre-warned some weeks before and we were only allowed to choose three options from the menu; the full spread, the vegan breakfast or the tomato, basil and whipped feta on rye toast - none of which anyone was too excited about.
We waited OVER an hour and a half for our meals. I understand we had a large group but the four tables behind us had BEEN and GONE before we even got our meals, and they had been advised of the size of our group at least a fortnight in advance.
When we finally got our meals, everyone was generally displeased. I had the tomato, basil and whipped feta on rye toast - average at best, I was still hungry and I had a stomach ache later (whether that was from the meal or the iced coffee).
My two friends next to me had the full spread breakfast which included 1 tiny piece of bacon, and one of them had the chorizos forgotten altogether.
Everyone else was still hungry after and no one thought their meal was outstanding.
Food presentation below average.
Multiple complaints to staff.
The only two positives - at the end of the meal they deducted our drinks from the total bill due to multiple complaints from our table, the other positive being that (some) staff were friendly and apologetic. Also were quite accomodating to dietary requirements in regards to replacing the whipped feta on the rye toast for one the the girls with smashed avocado at no extra charge.

Despite these positives, I will not return again. The menu itself was quite boring and the one thing that spiked my interest, I wasn't allowed as we only could order off a 3 choice menu - which in my opinion is ridiculous. There would be no difference if our tables were split apart whether we ordered what we wanted and I'm sure within the over an hour and a half time frame they had they could've easily accommodated to everyone's preferences off the menu.
On The Chopping Board
On my regular Saturday morning hunt for a brunch venue I hadn't already visited, I (Amanda) arrived at Rosey's on Unley Road. Mirko from On The Chopping Board (OTCB) visited Rosey's back in 2013 (review here) and didn't have an amazing experience but since Rosey's is still going strong so many years later, I thought it was time OTCB made a revisit.

A friend and I dined here on a Tuesday morning for breakfast. We sat inside because it was full outside - not surprising when you go to a nice cafe! The service was great. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a friendly waitress who offered us coffee and gave us menus. I ordered the vego breakfast and my friend ordered the fritters with salmon. It took a while for a meals to be served but we werent in a hurry. The food was a huge serving and it was absolutely delicious. It was a little too much food for me (I hate to waste but couldnt eat it all). The plate had loads of different flavours and everything was cooked really well. Thanks for a great breakky - we'll be back!

We went on a weekend for a late breakfast, the restaurant was half full. We asked if the meat breakfast was enough for two people to share and were told that it was, so we ordered it. Just to be sure we also ordered two eggs on toast plus tea. The tea was fine and came out first however 40 minutes after the tea arrived we still didn't get our breakfast. We went up to ask how things were going and got told that it would be another few minutes. Another 15 minutes past before our breakfast arrived; when it did arrive, the meat breakfast was definitely not enough for two people and the eggs on toast were average (it lacked basic spices on the meat and the eggs were not salted; the avocado made us feel unwell). We are not picky with food generally, but for such a simple breakfast order we expected better. If you were super hungry the single "main" course sizes were not enough. All this plus the essentially hour wait time for a basic breakfast in a half full restaurant is unacceptable. On top of all this, there were plenty of staff around (so they were not understaffed) and they added a 10% addition to our bill because it was Sunday! We've never seen this before. Two medium size plates with eggs , toast, two tiny sausages and a tea end up costing $40+. Not recommended.

Hands down breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and Rosey's does not disappoint!!
beautiful decor, staff and food! We started off with coffees and fresh made juice, which just put such a smile on our faces! followed it up the zucchini fritters with poached eggs and the big veggie breakfast. Would be hard pressed to find any fault at all!! definite must try!! :) big shout out to their barista, your coffee was heaven!!

I don't usually eat at many breakfast cafes, but Rosey's with its strong zomato rating was hard to ignore. I'm pleased to report I wasn't disappointed.
We had a brunch here and ordered the omelette and the zucchini fritters with smoked salmon. My friend also ordered a long black.
The omelette was the best of the dishes. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the fillings of broccolini, leek and ham were just the perfect flavour combo with the Gouda cheese. The quark on top was also an excellent addition. This dish rated a 4.5. A simple dish done extremely well.
The zucchini fritters were also nicely cooked, without any raw spots and paired well with the smoked salmon. The poached eggs were done perfectly. Again a well done dish which rated a 4. As a matter of personal preference I would have preferred a tad more salt and some more spicy flavouring, but that is not the nature of the dish.
I also tasted the coffee, and it was excellent. I am not a regular coffee drinker, but I do very rarely appreciate a strong, fresh coffee, and this one was.
The cafe has a nice, simple ambience with friendly, efficient and attentive staff, and quirky but not overstated decor (see the knife in the front door which acts as a door handle!)
Overall, highly recommended,

I have been to Rosey's Unley many times and have found the service to be consistently friendly and efficient. The staff have told me that they love working for Rosey and considering the time some of them have been there, this must be a great place to be.
The food is good quality although slightly on the pricey side and the coffee also good usually warranting a second cup. My three personal favourites are fritters; poached eggs; and French toast - they are always the same consistent quality which is a plus.
There is plenty of seating inside and outside in the courtyard although it does pay to book for weekend breakfasts as they do fill up. The courtyard is enclosed and is warm in winter with heaters and, if you need them, blankets.
A minus is the insistence on separate accounts no matter how quiet they are or how well they know you. This is highly inconvenient and puts a real dent in my perception of their concern about customer experience. There are plenty of places that have stopped this practice and it would be great if Rosey's would as well.
Summary: Food good consistent quality with vegan options. Coffee good. Service friendly and attentive. Parking easy to find behind the cafe or in Frederick Street - if driving along this street remember to stick to 40km/hour - there are nearly always cameras that you will find hard to spot.

OMG! This place s amazing! It definitely counts one of THE best breakfast cafe in Adelaide. Food cooked beautifully, and coffee made descent. Well, it is a little pricey but u get what u paid for. Good job!

It's been a while since this review but I can't help but having a great memory of the lunch we had : the meals were spot on with flavours, portions and ingredients. The coffees were nice too. An overdue come back is scheduled, watch this space !

Vegan breakfast!! What an assortment of colour, flavour, nutrition and satisfaction. The baked beans and pumpkin hummus the highlights for me.

This place is a real hidden gem on Unley road which probably only locals would know about. Lovely food and a great lunch menu which changes all the time. Zucchini fritters are the best!

Fabulous food. Good coffee. Pesto & tomato soup and eggplant curry. Both delicious. With a homemade touch. Simple decor but cute. If i lived in Adelaide, I'd be a regular!

Just been to this cafe for the sixth and last time. Three times I've eaten and the food has been good. The service has always been fairly indifferent but that doesn't really bother me. However, three times I've been and the kitchen has already closed despite the fact that they are open and there is no indication on their website that the kitchen closes at least an hour before the advertised closing time. These youngsters are so full of themselves they clearly don't believe they need regular custom. Lunch at the ever reliable Lunch Club at Unley Shopping Centre instead!

Very busy and great atmosphere, the menu is delightful. I have been here many times and it has always been enjoyable. The young man serving our table of 7 remembered all of our orders for food and drink which were different without writing any of it down which was incredible, also very friendly.
Eating Adelaide
Lunch at Rosey's in their wonderful outdoor seating area. Zucchini fritters with poached eggs and smoked salmon (a pricey $18.50)- fritters were filled with lots but a little raw in the centre. Eggs poached lovely and runny in the centre. Also did a make-your-own juice with watermelon, apple and ginger. It was a little tasteless and would have loved more of a ginger hit. They also have a 10% surcharge on Sunday.

Great brunch at roseys, perfectly cooked eggs every time! Do yourself a favour and try the tomato feta basil on rye! Yummy juices and coffee too.

Have been a couple of times and always found it pleasant. Cute decor and varied seating options. I haven't found the staff to be as bad as other reviewers suggest, but staff change all the time. We found them to be polite and quiet.

The gf fritters need gluten as they are a bit too eggy, not really fritters. Not all gf versions are better, although I appreciate they want to cater to the GF peeps, but the 2 boys at our table were not impressed with them.

Overall this is still a good little cafe.
Monica
Rosey's is almost the epitome of the Adelaide brunch scene; safe and reliable but lacking in audacity or that extra flavour. A pretty predictable menu, I went with the corn fritters with salmon, one of the few breadless offers, as the only type of bread they serve is Mylor rye (where's the variety). Again, it was pretty satisfying but nothing tantalizing, though well filling. Prices are standard and staff although friendly may need to brush up on skills during the busy period. With a typical quirky interior, sit outside and catch some real Vitamin D.
Alex
Nice place for breakfast. Good atmosphere, menu and friendly service. Downsides are the service is very slow and a limited drinks menu. To be specific the milkshakes are just almost entirely milk.

Awesome brunch place. Good service and food and great decor. Turns into a bar at night and they have a pretty cool bottle rope pulley system. I'm a big fan of the zucchini fritters so definitely recommend that with a side of smoked salmon. Great coffees too. Service is always friendly and attentive. Will keep coming back!

I just rang to enquire about whether Rosey's have GF bread. To my astonishment they said they didn't as I would have been ok with everything else. I asked if they could order some in for the following week but the answer was no we don't do GF bread!! It's a shame for us and for them given the increasing gluten intolerance around!
Zoe L
Service was good and staff were very helpful in letting us know what was vegan then letting us chose our sides to make a vegan breakfast. Good coffee also.

Delicioso! Such great food, friendly staff and a great ambiance in the cafe. Best coffee I've had...and I drink ALOT of coffee. The menu is unique and tasty. A must visit destination if you're in the area.

Was in on Saturday and had the veggie spread with chorizo. Bloody delicious. Awesome service too. Great coffee and table service and just an excellent buzz and energy from the very attentive (and attractive) staff.
NH
Great armosphere, decore, look of the place. Waitress with the sore leg very prompt on service and friendly. Rest of them not very attentive (no one at counter for a bit at one point, could hear them out back having a chin wag). Had to ask twice for something. In the end went up a picked it up myself because if i waited any longer i would have been fin with my food. A real shame as i liked the place orherwise.

Chef does great food. Shame about the waiting staff.
Laura
Really good coffee and a nice, simple menu. We were allowed to make up a whole breakfast from the extras which was great! Nice and small, so it's not too noisy
Rynacrash
Delightful diner in a sea of pretentious wannabe hipster cafeterias... In the past few years the trend in Adelaide has been to open what seems to be the same boring coffee and eating establishment, serving overpriced under flavoured food and beverages, staffed by tattooed spectacled twenty-somethings who desperately try to fit into the same 'hipster' classification. However, Rosey's is not one of these places. Delicious food and good coffee without jacking up the price, friendly staff, great atmosphere.. Go and get the Pumpkin Rye for breakfast tomorrow, you wont be disappointed..
Maya_eats
Worth the wait. Coffees came out quickly, but the wait time on food was a little hard to bare at 2pm on a quiet saturday for my hungry self. All day breakfast, large serving sizes and very crunchy mylor bread made it better though, well worth the wait for the great food.
Also, the table at the front window is prime for people watching of the passers by on the street!

Just write it down!. After waiting a good 40 minutes or so for food that never arrived I can describe the interior with frightening detail, and even offer an idea on how to improve the fish bowl inside the television piece (back light). Also I don't like that splatter painting on the wall. Went here based on reviews, persevered through the initial waft of pretentiousness, hunger kept me in my seat whilst I heard staff laughing at a customer who had just left, and when eventually our order was taken, I told myself to have faith, this was a place too trendy to write down your order, but everything would be ok. Within 40 minutes I was hangry. Real hangry. Hungry + Angry = extreme general unpleasantness. I thought, couldn't we at least have our drinks? I knew there'd likely be a wait but geez! Then customers who I knew had been after us started to get their meals. I had already vowed to give it only 5 more minutes before telling them to shove it and bailing to subway for 1/3rd the price and 1/10th the wait time. Made eye contact with one of the staff several times (not hard considering we were at the very first, most conspicuous table right there in front of the counter) before being told oh sorry I forgot your order. At which time I said forget it, myself and partner pushed back our chairs and left. Not a word was said to us on our exit, though the staff member near the door smirked over our shoulder and shared an expression of 'pah, as if we need their patronage anyway. Mortals!' with the initial old Forgetful Franny as we left. I'm sure they were really disappointed deep down though.
So in summary, it's not trendy to not write down an order. It's not clever. It's not impressive. Notepads were actually invented solely for the purpose of circumventing the possibility of human error. Please, just write it down.
P.s.-went to burger republic. Was pretty good! Though I blame Rosey's for the fact that I ordered extra chips and a bowl of onion rings that I didn't need on account of being too hungry to be rational.
Chris
On a recent Sunday after having been to roseys in the past, service was average, food was forgotten and late. Then when paying we were told 'oh yeah we charge an extra 10% on Sundays now' I won't be returning

Paradise in the wilderness. Get thee to Rosey's for great breakfast and coffee. A great backbeat playing. And natural smiles. Top marks.

Awesome. Adelaides best cafe! The brekky spread with the lot is my go to favourite, throw in thier bloody mary - and you are home

My favourite cafe in Adelaide by far - delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, sunny courtyard and great staff. Highly recommend it

Ordered coffee and breakfast, coffee came breakfast didn't. Title says it all. I waited half an hour, before asking what the deal was, it was busy when I arrived but it had really died down by that point. The guy behind the counter said would check on it, although he never came back to the table to let me know what was going on. After ten more mins I decided to leave, no one seemed to notice.

Brunch at Rosey's. I've had brunch at Rosey's a few times now and the food is always delicious. My favourite meal is scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms. Every time, the food has come to the table hot and the service is friendly and professional.

I wouldn't recommend Rosey's to anyone who anyone deserving decent service or food, because Rosey's offers neither.

New Favoutite. Walking down Unley Road today my husband and I happened to stumble upon Rosey’s cafe. What a find! Adorable set up, beautiful food and lovely simple wine selection.
For lunch my husband opted for the Full Spread breakfast. Beautiful presented, generous and oh so tasty. I ordered the Morton Bay Bug dish with tomato chilli pernod sauce with toasted olive ciabatta off the lunch specials. Restaurant quality and very reasonably priced.
As far as the service goes, no complaints here! They were very busy but that didn’t stop them from being attentive and friendly.
I’m just sorry we hadn’t discovered this treasure a long time ago. It’s a ‘rose’ amongst the thorns (aka the very other quite mediocre lacklustre cafes in the area).
Foodlicious
Love the breakfast menu - it never disappoints.

Brilliant brilliant brilliant!! I have eaten breakfast a number of times here now. Every time has been VERY consistent. Service is always efficient and friendly. I can only comment on one of the meals as I can't help myself but to order the same thing every time, cause it is so damn good! Field mushrooms with quark on rye bread, each and every time, AMAZING! Will continue to return and show my friends what this gorgeous place is all about!

I have heard so many positive things about Rosey's, but my experience did not match these. I knew I may have needed a booking for breakfast however popped in on the off chance there would be a table for two available. There was two or three tables free. We were declined service in a condescending tone by the waitress. I'm glad this happened because I wouldn't have wanted to eat there anyway and I won't be returning.

Up there with the best! Wide variety of delicious food and beverages, friendly service and quirky decor. Will return again and again, as well as recommend to friends.

I can not say less about this overrated cafe. After waiting 30 minutes to be given a table, no one took my friend and my order for about 20 minutes. After taking our orders, mine came out 15 minutes later yet my friend's meal and coffee did not. It took me roughly 30 minutes to eat my average meal and coffee, and still, my friend's meal had not even come out. Finally, after I was well and truly finished, and we had asked about the other meal, her meal came out and 10 minutes later her coffee too, both cold and tasted like they had been sitting on the bench for quite a while. Service was inconsistent and staff were not very friendly or helpful. Prices were much too high considering average quality, and variety was too small. It seems they focus too much on being 'cool' and 'hip' and not enough on their service or actual food. Oh, and what's with not letting us split bills?

Great Breakfast in Unley. Todays breakfast mission was twofold. One, eat a great breakfast somewhere other than Hutt street. 2. Check the correlation on the Urban spoon rating system. With a score of 90% and 300 votes, Rosies was perfect for this experiment. The cafe is a hidden wonder on Unley road. Walk in and it has its own charm and character. On entering we saw that it was full inside and were told that many book. Never mind, the friendly efficient helpful staff rewarded our 3 minutes of patience with a table in the pleasant courtyard. Today we tried the salmon with poached eggs, dill mayo, fried capers, zucchini fritters and a side of rye toast. It came out perfectly presented and we both agreed; delicious. Excellent presentation and well matched ingrdients. The coffee was excellent as well. On the way back out, we spied the ommelette. Definetly coming back for that!

Rosey's has a beautiful and light atmosphere, incredible customer service and impeccable food. I highly recommend the zucchini and red onion fritter with poached eggs and smoked salmon - a delicious combination of flavor, health conscious, energized and colorful, as well as the perfect portion size presented meticulously. High dining in a relaxed environment, tucked away on Unley Road. 5 Stars all the way!

New favourite breakfast place!. The food was absolutely delish, the coffee was fantastic, quaint atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back!

Good Quality Brunch Spot. I was pleased that I could make a booking for brunch on a weekend at Rosey's given you can't do that anywhere in Melbourne! Urbanspoon reviews were bang on when recommending Rosey's for breakfast. I thoroughly enjoyed my veggie breakfast with pumpkin rye bread and was especially pleased by the inclusion of beetroot as a side as I've never seen that on a menu before. Lovely staff and coffee. Will return when I go back to Adelaide!

Roseys is easily the BEST place I have found in Adelaide. Such beautifully fresh food, consistently outstanding coffee and service that I haven't experienced anywhere else. A place for absolutely everyone. Do yourself a favour.

Love this place! Had the yu.... Love this place!
Had the yummiest breakfast ever. Get the full spread and a Bloody Mary! Yummmmmm

My minimum requirement. Smile as you take my money! First, and last visit, this was for quick lunch with friends. Three choices for 'lunch', or the breakfast menu. Ambience pleasant, furniture old & quirky (my GF did fall over backwards when her chair leg went into the hole in the pavers behind her). Food was fine but the servings were small, we all left hungry. So far OK.... Then we see the sign that says no separate bills, which we didn't see upon entering. Staff member NOT impressed, angry in fact. Two of us had to pay by card-EFTPOS, not credit btw. Says staff member "well, next time you had better remember, it's Rosey's policy". There won't be a next time honey! Before payment, I thought the place average, at payment my minimum requirement is that you smile when you take my money (any way I choose to pay- it's 2013, get with the program). So here's my "policy" - I don't revisit when staff are rude. And we were still hungry!!!

Mixed feelings. Had the pumpkin, tomato and beetroot on Mylor Pumpkin bread but found the combination a bit unusual and the dish not as appealing taste wise as on paper. While the bread was absolutely amazing, the combination of sweet jam with savoury roast vegetables and creme fraiche felt mismatched. Would like to see a slightly more extensive menu option as well. However, overall the staff were friendly and service was speedy.
Josh
Waited 20 minutes for our juice to come out and then anther 20 for our order to be taken for our mains. Once it was ordered it was 45 minutes until our meals came out. The food was average and the service was worse.

Today was my third positive experience at Rosey's. Although it was well after traditional breakfast time I was able to order the classic, poached eggs on toast-amazing! I love simple, fresh, classic meals and this was spot on. Being a fussy eater I love the fact that on the menu you can have eggs on toast and have the option of individually adding any extras. I can highly recommend the chorizo, amazing!
Let's not forget that the coffee was great and although it was a little chilly outside there today, it was not a problem with the heaters on and complementary blankies on standby if needed.
Love the environment and the staff each time have never failed to greet us within seconds of walking in the door no matter how busy they are. Love it and will definitely be back.

Tries to hard to be something different. Went here because first choice was closed. Nice set up however the breakfast is to much. There is no simple bacon and eggs. Has potential. Definitely a place for catch ups and coffee but not breakfast.
FoodChick
Nice atmosphere - good food. The menu here looks good for everything! The dishes coming out of the kitchen all looked mouth watering. Make sure to book a table on the weekend, as this place is packed with line up for brunch on Sat and Sun! Also good if you decide on your dish while waiting for a table, as the wait can be a little long.

But other than that, the service was friendly and attentive, we sat outside, and even though it was chilly and wet outside, we sat under the heater and had red blankets to throw over ourselves - a nice touch.

I had the zucchini fritters with poached egg, smoked salmon and added a side of mushrooms - all of the food on my plate was very tasty, fresh and quite generous! Definitely worth the wait, I'd love to come back to try their omelette - it looked good being served next to us.

However, one thing I didn't appreciate - and don't like cafe's doing - is if you order tea and pay $3.50 for a cup, you don't want to see a plain green tea tbag that you get at coles for $4 for a pack of 30 bags, I would have expected a nicer green tea option - loose leaf or an organic green tea tbag, a fail there.

Overall though, it was nice and the food is wholesome and good, so I will return to try their other menu items.

Asked to leave!. I was having breakfast with a girlfriend for her birthday. We had been there almost 90 mins, spent about $45 dollars and all we needed was 5 more minutes of catching up, but to my surprise we were asked to leave. I wish we had been asked how much longer we would be instead of being told to leave.

Magical Private Dinner Party. Last Saturday night I celebrated my birthday by hosting a private dinner for 23 friends at Rosey’s. To say it exceeded my expectations is an understatement. Walking into the stone-walled courtyard at the back, I was blown away by the beautifully lit and presented area – it really was magical. Everyone reacted the same way upon arrival. And it was just the start of what turned out to be a most memorable evening. Rosey is such a friendly, genuine person, and the whole process was a simple as ‘leave it to me.’ And I’m so glad I did. Everything was perfect – the service, the atmosphere, and the amazing food (which had been discussed prior to the night). Throughout the evening, people continued to comment on the wonderful venue, and what a fantastic time they were having. I cannot recommend Rosey’s highly enough for a private dinner party (or a quick coffee).

Fantastic. Been here a few times and its been great. Great food. Crepes are SCRUMPTIOUS. brekky also good. Staff super friendly.

I love Roseys, the food is delicious.
The service is hit and miss but the food and atmosphere is always excellent.

Our new favourite. Popped into Rosey's today as a first time patron... and OH MY GOD! Was greeted with what seems to be missing in most cafe's these days... Hospitality. The all day breakfast menu looked very tantalizing but we opted for the lunch menu. We had the lamb ragu with house made papadelle pasta and beetroot and carrot soup. The soup was rich, creamy and hot as hell... the ragu (the robust flavours were out of this world). Wine list was minimilastic but on the money and flavoursome coffees to finish. We have found our new haunt.

Went this morning for breakfast - 30mins to wait for coffee and then food after 35mins. Small things make a difference. Have to say that my food wasn't that good either ... I won't be back either.

Great staff, lovely food. We both had the zucchini fritters with poached eggs and smoked salmon, along with sides of mushrooms and baked beans. We did have to wait for the food to come out but I didn't feel the delay was excessive given it was a Sunday morning and the place was packed. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Would recommend.

Our favourite. We love Rosey's! Beautiful, high quality and mainly local food cooked really well every time. Nice tea too.
Coco-1224
Nice food but way too long to wait!. Went there with a friend, I ordered strawberry crepes and she had the big breakfast. Food was nice enoug, nothing spectacular, but we had to wait a full hour for our food to come out. This is way too long to wait and I will not be going back. Staff were very friendly though.
Jake
Excellent. I am a regular. always good. Get the full spread well worth $20.
Medusa
Lovely breakfast - well presented! All the flavours brought together exactly as should, one of the best breakfasts in town....BUT service was messy & clumsy and coffee was bitter and rough.
Rosie
All round lovely. At 8am, Rosey's is a beautiful place to sit - big, airy spaces, plenty of room, and a seriously cute fit-out - love the bottles over the counter!

The toast was tasty, with nicely cooked poached eggs and delicious mushrooms. The house made beans were a little on the bland side, but that's nothing to complain about when you've got efficient service and perfectly good coffee.
Celeste Cocking
Good food, lovely staff. atmosphere was beautiful. organicfood, breakfast was yummy. coffee was nice, but a tad on there luke warm side. would come back and try other menu options.

Good coffee, disappointing food. I really liked the little court yard and ate here after a friend recommended. I was really disappointed with the food. There isn't a lot of variety and a staple of breakfast, bacon, isn't included in any menu item. It can be purchased for $4.50 which I did, and received three tiny pieces that were so salty I couldn't finish them. My friend who ordered mushrooms (as an additional side for $4.50) couldn't eat hers because they were overpowered with a vinegar flavour. The whole plate appeared to be sprinkled with cinnamon which was not pleasant. The coffee was really good and the highlight. Wish I'd stopped at that. The service started well but then we did not receive any follow up after our meals had been delivered. There are better places in the area.

Great... But. Food 85% of time is good and well worth the money. Coffee is consistently good. However 2 things could be improved. On real busy days, the team needs to lift as i've had 2 experiences where I didn't even get to the point of ordering food - I got my coffee and then left. The other improvement? Staff please put on a smile. There are a few staff who seem like they do not want to be there and it shows. Otherwise this place could be one of the best in town.

I came to Rosey's for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The service was efficient and friendly. My friend had the haloumi and lentil salad... Perfectly crafted dish full of flavour. I had the pumpkin and ginger soup...a hearty wholesome meal and great for cold days. Overall a delectable lunch!
We will return...keep up the good work Rosey.

Nice courtyard, good service, pleasant enough. Food is unremarkable—nothing to criticise, but nothing exceptional either. Not worth crossing town for, but you'd be content if it was your local.

Worst ever zucchini fritters. After hearing so many good reviews from friends who have breakfasted at Rosey's, I was excited about giving it a try. The place has a great vibe and the courtyard was charming and sheltered, with folded red blankets provided for extra warmth should it be required, what a nice touch !

However, I am sorry to report that the breakfast was one of the worst I have ever had in Adelaide. My partner and I both ordered the zucchini fritters, which came to the table blackened on the outside, yet completely soggy, oozing raw egg and crunchy grated potato and zucchini from the inside. You know, if a fritter is going to lack any kind of fluffiness and loft (which these certainly lacked), I could probably come to terms with that approach if it were at least cooked properly and rendered edible!!

If Rosey's is reading, I would suggest that whoever was cooking that day could benefit from reading up on how to make a decent batter, and perhaps some training in basic frying techniques. I am surprised that these fritters were even put on our plates, as it was plain to see that they were not not of a standard to serve.

As for the other components of the dish, the smoked salmon was lovely, the mayo was fine, but the poached eggs were of inconsistent poachedness. The coffees were nice.

In summary, we were very disappointed with our breakfasts and you certainly can't be happy at walking out of Rosey's paying almost $40 for dishes, the main component of which was essentially inedible. If I believe the other reviews I would have to conclude that Rosey's were having an uncharacteristically bad day in the kitchen, rather than that it is always this bad. Still, I won't be returning, ever.

The breakfast menu is delicious and the venue itself is really cute. A nice courtyard to sit in. Decent coffee. I have visited on several occasions and sometimes the service is great, sometimes it takes ages to get served and it doesn't seem to matter how many other patrons there are. Definitely worth a try for the breakfast
Alkaliman
Roseysplace. Another ASG market. Another find for breakfast. Great coffee at the correct temperature [check]. Innovative menu [check]. Good service and great atmosphere [check]. Its not that hard Adelaide. Aim a little above just adequate. Dear Rosey don't let your standards drop.

Love this place! Read about it in a 'rip it up' magazine about a year ago, tried it; loved it! The staff are outstandingly friendly, the store is cute as a button( love the butchers knife door handle!!) and the food is delicious. Their menu changes depending on what fresh produce they get in. How fantastic! Never get bored of this place. Well done guys.

Amazing.. Scrumptious, fresh, delicious, food, amazing staff, wonderful atmosphere, beautifully decorated and very relaxing. Brilliant, friendly and charismatic staff.. One of adelaides new little treasures. Love love it.

YUM. Sesame crostini with cuke, tomato, and labna was one of the best things I've ever eaten Perfect coffee, real fresh squeezed orange juice... big fan.

Amazing French toast (consistently great) and today had a rare beef sandwich - amazingly good.
The staff are always so happy and helpful as well.

Great atmosphere, genuinely friendly staff and really tasty food. Only letdown was my latte. But otherwise, it ticked all the boxes. I'll be back.
Eli
Casually impressed. I've been to Rosey's several times since it opened, and it feels like it's going from strength to strength. Rosey herself is always very pleasant and welcoming, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. The only problem I found with the coffee, being the soy milk used, has also been rectified. Definitely a great place for brunch, with an all day breakfast. Great stuff.
Lindsay
Lovely atmosphere, had our first visit to rosey's after recommendation from our friends who are regulars. We felt very welcome and will definitely be back soon. Thank you!

A one off or is it like this all the time?. We went for lunch on a wednesday. Whilst staff were friendly they were very stressed. They did inform us that it would be a 30 minute wait for food which we were ok with. We weren't so ok with it when we had to leave an hour and three quarters later with NO FOOD. I'm wondering whether they need to reassess how many tables they have and whether they can serve that many people. More staff, less tables maybe? It was so disappointing. I'd taken my mum out for a thank you lunch and we never got fed.
Sal
Maybe we got them On a bad .... Maybe we got them
On a bad day! The service was really not friendly and for a cafe that was not overly busy for a sat morning took ages for the food to come out. There was plenty of staff working. As someone who eats out for breakfast a lot I was really expected great things especially from the reviews. However it was nothing special. Def don't get the French toast.
Sallyeats
Lovely little brekky joint. Love Rosey's - friendly staff, great coffee and good food. A bit on the pricey side but worth it for a decent feed and a nice experience.

Great free range eggs and smashed avocado. The service too was great, water delivered and coffee order placed as soon as we were seated. Friendly staff, clean environment, happy times :)
Whine N Diner
Food was good and Service was prompt. My poached egg had some egg shells in it but other than that, I think it's worth going back there again. The alfresco area has good atmosphere.

Nothing better than a glorious Spring Day & Sunshine, and quality girl time. Greeted warmly by the staff and very attentive to our custom required palates. We all decided on the big breakfast as we had already had a sneak preview of other patrons. We were very impressed of the presentation and tasted fantastic. Defiantly one we will return to and share with our friends.

Ambiance at its best. A regular to Rosey's as I work across the road. Great coffees and always makes it better with Rosey's warm smile :) Had lunch there once and was very impressed, I had an open vegetarian sandwich and wow, rustic yet honest food. And one thing, never forget to drop by on Sat mornings for their fresh muffins, I am a big fan of their homey and not overly sweet muffins...!

Check out the TV-turned-fish tank, my fav piece of decor in the cafe! (the knife as the door handle comes second!)

We go on dates here and it's great. Awesome coffee and the avocado, feta, sambal smash is delicious!
Rafiki
Love it. Went for Saturday morning brekky with a pretty big group and luckily booked a table, by the time we got around to ordering the place was full. Coffee/juice/food were faultless, between us we had muesli, full brekky, full vego brekky (nice to see pumpkin and beetroot!) and the vegan salad and were all really impressed. Staff were a perfect mix of friendly and casual, speaking to us like we were all old mates. Decor inside is super cute and outside was spacious and warm. Will definitely return.
Mary
WE love it!. Never disappoints!!! We try make it in at least once a week. Great Vibe...Delicious fresh food. Daily lunch specials are amazing and cater to all tastes. The girls are warm and friendly and smiley, and the new liquor license has got us very excited!
Onegreedygirl
Eggs, hold the attitude. I get the vibe they're trying to achieve with the eclectic rustic thing but it's a little contrived and doesn't feel totally welcoming. our waitress had serious attitude issues which has probably soiled my opinion of this place. the food was decent but we waited a long time for not much.

so not bad, but trying a bit too hard to be cool. needs to be more about the food and service.

Best breakfast in ages. Rosey's is a great little find on Unley road. The service is super friendly and cheery, lovely lively courtyard and the menu full of great things. The smashed avocado and fetta on wonderful sourdough was fantastic. I changed the salsa to a homemade tomato relish which was delicious. The poached eggs with spinach and mushroom sides were also a big hit. I've been here 3 times now - each time has been great. It gets a bit busy on weekends - so dont go if you are in a hurry. Love the friendly atmosphere!
Ebonyeyes
Great coffee, amazing food!. I think my favourite coffee in Adelaide with an amazing menu to match. Food is fresh and of exceptional quality. My favourite - Thai leek salad with bok choy and roasted pumpkin. Oh and not to forget, the welcoming and friendly staff!
Harold Beerdrinker
New Favourite. Rosey's is the first time I've had a favourite cafe in over a decade. The full spread is magnificent.
Eliza
Lovely coffee. As the title says, just strong enough, not bitter and the milk was frothed perfectly. Kudos for being open on Good Friday.

Good stuff (assessment of a non tofu/topoo eater). Having done a quick inspection to find no available seating at our local, The Pantry, we had to go in search of other breakfasting options. Being entirely underwhelmed by anything on King William Road, we decided to give Rosey's on Unley a try. I am glad it was my suggestion because I became the hero for the day with this choice (ok, maybe just the hero for the morning, but I'll take what i can get). I was a little concerned upon entering as the place was a little bare and stark...thankfully with-in seconds the courtyard was spotted...it was light and airy, but inviting, warm and most importantly sheltered from the rain. Food and coffee were everything you could hope for...although a word of warning, the coffee is so good that you will happily down 3 cups without a second thought, perhaps leaving one a little highly-strung (perhaps why I was stripped of my hero status). The full breakfast is $20, which is a couple of bucks more expensive than usual, but the produce could not be faulted. The specials were great (omelette with quark, mushrooms and rocket was a winner). Service was excellent: efficent but not obstructive (explaining the unthinking ordering of 3 rounds of coffee). Of note, the sign on the door says Rosey's has a liquor licence...methinks I can see a lunch on the horizon.
Ellie
Very disappointed with the service. And the food was nothing to rave about.
Moira Blurns
The best of the best. My first time at roseys and to say i was impressed is an understatement. I had the full spread. The eggs were perfectly poached...the roasted spiced mushrooms were fragrant and amazing...and the spinach was divine!... and to top it off a deliciously piquant side of home made tomato chutney.
I would of licked my plate if no one was watching.
Coffee amazing...happy smiley faces...and the courtyard is quaint and homely. IF you think i'm exaggerating...i'm really not.
Will be back for sure!!!!
Karen
I like my eggs runny.... Had poached eggs with bacon on the side, poached eggs tasted like vinegar and were overcooked, toast was absolutely oozing olive oil - ew. We also ordered fried eggs for a four year old, which were also over cooked, and pity they didnt think to omit the heavy pepper garnish for her. I had heard good reviews about this place, but it didnt live up to my expectations. Coffee was good though.
Tootie
Rustic charm, fine food. Love the rustic, warm atmosphere and the food is fabulous. I had the scrambled tofu with spinach and bacon as sides, one word, delicious. My partner had the full spread and declared that to be fantastic. Service is with a smile and great coffee too. Well done
Ali Robson
Best time ever.I had the scrambled tofu,2 smashed avocado, 2 roasted Roma tomatoes. My coffee was a luke warm so they happily made me a new prefect coffee. And while we were leaving the waitress who had severed us who was on her break said bye. Friendly service, great food, dog friendly I will be back!!!
Phil
Good food and warm service. It's just a pitty this place opens too late for breakfast - my tummy can't wait until 9am to eat! Otherwise it would be a regular breakfast spot for us.

Great addition to the area. Brilliant local breakfast spot, just what the area needed. Unpretentious, lovely food and cute fit out.
Can't wait until they receive their licence and are open in the evenings to fill another gap in the Unley market for a small scale, chilled out bar.
Freeberger
Just what Unley needed.. As a frequent visitor of Serves You Right (the cafe there beforehand), I was sorely disappointed to see it go. But Rosey's has filled the hole it left and then some with its super-cute decor and all organic menu. From the recycled water bottles to the local art on the walls, Rosey's is unpretentious with a nice local atmosphere. The organic breakfast is very reasonably priced and the menu tells you where everything is sourced, which is a nice touch. We ordered the scrambled tofu (was seriously surprised at how delicious this was) and the Spread (eggs how you like with all the sides) and gobbled up a generous, unique breakfast we've never had anywhere else. Highlights include the freshly-squeezed juice, the scrambled tofu and the sides of smashed avocado and beetroot (another delicious surprise). Highly recommended!!
Beingblade
I still don't understand why breakfast is always so expensive but it was so good. The smashed avo was amazing (but when is it not). Loved the spinach and mushrooms. The rye was dense and toasted perfectly. BUT THE BACON. BEST BACON I HAVE EVER

Located down the popular Unley Road cafe precinct is a brunch destination called Rosey’s. This place prides itself on using organic and locally sourced produce, which is reflected on their all day breakfast menu.

Rosey’s at Unley is another cute café. It has an outdoor area, great to enjoy your meal while enjoying the sun and a decent area inside especially if you have a pram (if your like me always making a scene with the pram and bumping into tables and chairs hahahaha….). Breakfast is served all day and the lunch menu changes on a regular basis. Previously I have had one of their salads and they know how to use different ingredients and make a fresh salad taste delicious. Kristina and I shared the roasted pumpkin and parsnip soup (served with toast) and today I had a freshly squized juice of carrot, orange and ginger (great combo to fight the cold). I am always looking for new places to eat. This cafe has been around for a while. I went there at least twice now and both times had been pleasant experiences. Not far from the Adelaide CBD, down on Unley Road was this cafe. It is very distinct, a kitchen knife is the door handle. There are a few tables and chairs, or there are some stools if you prefer sitting near the coffee machine at the back. Otherwise there are plenty of room at the back outside. This cafe is always busy for breakfasts.

... the zucchini fritters with dill mayo, poached eggs, smoked salmon and fried capers. It was a delightful dish! Dill mayo always complements the smoked salmon well and I can't find any fault in it. The presentation was lovely! The fried capers, graced the fritters well with its saltiness. The fritters had some crunch on the outside and was not too floury. Besides that, the poached eggs had runny yolks. It was a great dish on overall.

Being a full-time student/part-time blogger, the fight against procrastination is as rife as our late night battles against devouring the tub of ice-cream in our freezers whilst watching The Biggest Loser. You’d think that show would put you off eating wouldn’t you? Oh the shame of it all. Waking up on a particularly chilly Monday morning I knew that I needed to get up and at-em’ before I looked at the clock to find it was midday and I had managed to avoid all assignments, emails and write ups. In order to crank myself into gear I decided to hit up a bestie for breaky because nothing helps me get out of bed like the promise of a good bite and great company. Rosey’s on Unley road was where we decided to head as it is one of my lady-friends favs and although I had a somewhat unremarkable experience there a while back, I was willing to give ol’ Rosey another go . On a cold and dreary morning one could think of nothing worse than sitting outside with their eggs and bacon but inside was ful

We sat inside but Rosey’s also has a very cute covered courtyard – complete with blankets ready for the chilly weather. I was all geared up for coffee and cake but, because Andy decided to have the big breakfast, I felt my arm twisted and ordered scrambled eggs with a

Rosey’s Cafe was actually recommended by the awesome staff at The Aviary Dessert Kitchen (one of Adelaide’s best Dessert Bars!) and as soon as we got there, we immediately knew why. It felt like we were in a cosy Edwardian home with vintage throwback chairs that I wanted to take home, polished floorboards and what-do-ya-know, a hanging bottle sculpture over the counter. Too rad. On with the food. I haven’t had Corn fritters in years, so it was an easy choice especially when I saw that it came with Harris Smoked Salmon. I’ve had my fair share of bad fritters which is probably why I’ve been avoiding them – soggy, overly thick and cold comes to mind. At Rosey’s however, the fritters were in fact, a stonegroove. Perfect height, crisp edges, right amount of kernels and yes, hot.
