Review Passatempo Caffe Ristorante - Adelaide

Went in there with my daughter on a Sunday evening after having dinner at a Chinese restaurant in the Central Market. We explained to the waiter that we would not be eating but were just interested in having a coffee. He was happy with that and offered us a choice of seating; either indoors or outdoors. The place was busy it being the peak dinner period. We were given a table for two by the window. The drinks we ordered were brought out promptly and the coffee was good. They serve the Vittoria brand of coffee at this establishment. My daughter had an iced lemon tea. We noticed a broad spectrum of diners; families with toddlers, couples on a night out in town, groups of friends, etc. Everyone seemed relaxed and like they were enjoying themselves. There may have been a few regulars amongst the diners. Looking around I noticed the walls had nice murals which gives a nice feel to the place. The restrooms are clearly marked and were well maintained. On finishing our drinks we paid at the front counter and left. Would definitely be back again to try out some of the dishes and spend some more time in the place.

Great location and a lot of seating both indoor and out. Staff were friendly and efficient but not intrusive. The food was quickly prepared and tasted great. Restaurant was clean and overall provided for a pleasant experience. Price was moderate and in this case the quality matched.

Over priced and arrogant attitudeđź‘Ž Unbelievable!!! Very disappointed in all aspects of this business. Food was pathetic no value nor quality. These 2 dishes were costing us around 50 dollars, absolute rip off. When informed of our disappointment the arrogance we received was out of order and very rude!!! We left without eating and forced to pay the bill for untouched meals!!! CONSUMER BEWARE

We were instantly served by Yew the waitress. She was unbelievably kind and welcoming. We were quickly served and given our entree. We had the antipasto. It was remarkable with so much delicious food for such a low price. The two of us were nearly full by the end of it. The quantity did not take away from the amazing quality and professional Plating. We then had the wedges and a large pizza. Stunning but we couldn't finish the pizza with how filling it was. We wanted a dessert but we had eaten so much. They looked absaloutley stunning!! We were served within 5 minutes of finishing entree. It was truly the best culinary experience we could have had in the CBD and would recommend it absaloutley. Low price, great food, plenty of it and amazing staff (thanks again yew)!!

Sloppy service and less than average food; Started with some bacon kilpatrick (there may have been some oyster in there???) which took 25 minutes to come out, and then waited for our pizzas which tasted like they were ordered from pizza hut. Restaurants like this should not be on gouger street!

Good service. Good food. Generous serving size. Lively atmosphere. GF pizza base was really good. We've been back several times and would definitely recommend.

Had meals on a couple of days. The special chicken burger was average- with deep fried chicken in half a loaf of Italian bread with herbs, but the Salmon with veggies the next day was simply outstanding! The best cooked Salmon that I have eaten- crispy skin, and flaky, perfectly cooked fish.

This place is a joke.we ordered the minestrone soup and half way in found steel wool in the soup. Waiter didn't say sorry and when the bill can't made us pay for half of the dish!! This is so bad and un hygienic. Take responsibility for your mistake.

We went there on New Years Eve for dinner. The service from the waiter Rocco and waitress Stephanie was great.
We ordered 3 pasta dishes to share for 7 people, when we got our bowls 4 of them came out dirty. The owners didn’t even come over to apologise, they were right next to our table. At least offer us something complementary.

We had to wait for cutlery, so meant our food went cold. Overall we won’t be going back there again.

Dined in at Passatempo for dinner as I had the buy 1 get 1 free from the entertainment book. I ordered the Linguine Tartufo to try something different, and partner had the Penne Con Pollo g.f (28.9). Sadly, my meal would be the worst pasta dish I have ever tried, and would definitely not recommend, both the meat and vegetables tasted like they came from a tin which was disappointing since the fresh markets are literally across the street. Partner was not pleased with her meal as well. Drinks Chinotto (4.9) and a lemon lime and bitters (4.5) which were fine. To top off a disappointing night, after presenting the voucher our meal went from $64-->$$47.4. I only realised we were overcharged when having a think about it a while after, It should of been 28.9+4.9+4.5= $38.3.

Took away a slice of Lemon cheesecake ($6.90). The staff who served me was so lovely. Although I was only taking away, he was very well mannered and professional. The cheesecake had some sort of slightly runny lemon sauce on top, which tasted rather artificial and not at all like real lemon curd, which was a shame. It was topped with shaved white chocolate shards, which I initially thought were coconut flakes (which I would have preferred, to be honest). The cheesecake itself was very yummy, and while it wasn't mind-blowingly delicious, it satisfied my sugar craving.

Tried the famous Gouger St for brekkie, dropped into this Italian on a whim. Probably should've kept going, eggs benedict was ok but smothered in a bit too much hollandaise, ham suspiciously Coles-like in quality. Average overly bitter coffee to go with it.

Once again a great meal. Been there many times and never been disappointed. Generous serves, quality ingredients and great flavour. If you have an entertainment book, they offer a buy one and get one free voucher . How good is that. Well worth a visit.

Marinara Risotto. Nice place and atmosphere. Good experience. The food was tasty full of cheese flavour. The prices are a bit high, $23.9 should have more seafood and bigger size.

Horrible food not recommended. Worst food ever. False and misleading advertising for specials.
Couldn't eat the food and went elsewhere after paying for the aweful food.

Great location near the Adelaide Central markets. Friendly service on a reasonably busy Saturday morning. Ordered a macchiato and the eggs Benedict with the sauce on the side and the egg yolks soft. Coffee was great! Eggs came overlooked, spinach was cold but it was a generous portion. Ham was very good quality and the toast was a crisp ciabatta. Average result even though the ingredients were all there for a very nice breakfast.

Worst Meal Ever. We went there on Sat. 18/1/14 with my wife and 5 friends. The place was very busy, but got seated straight away . Our order consisted of 2 kids meals (Fish and chips ,Nuggets and chips, Mains were Salt & Pepper Squid,Chicken Parmi,Tortellini Alla Panna ,Spaghetti Bologniese and Penne Amatricana. The meals took 1hr. 30mins to arrive, and that was only after we asked how much longer. Kids meals where good ,Squid was good spaghetti was good. The Penne and the Tortellini were both oily,to the extent that I sent my Tortellini back in disgust.. My wife never received her Chicken Parmi as it had been missed. When we went to pay our bill the Maitre de was rude and told us bad luck we had just picked the wrong night, and knocked the price of the 2 garlic breads off the bill, but made no apology for the bad meals and service

Best tasting food and great service. This is by far one of the best cafes I have been to for a while! Highly recommended for all people

I work in the industry and I'm sorry to say this is one of the worst places I have ever dined in. The staff are slack, uninterested and lack basic customer service for example I waited 15min for table water. When ordering the salad I added one thing which I never received not to mention waiting almost 30min for it. Then when going to pay was going to get charged extra for the additions I never received oh and a basic squid salad was $22 way over priced for the quality. I'm sorry but I won't be dining here again and recommend no one does yuk!!

Its alright but........ Dinner last night, pizza was nice, seafood basket oily, service, not good, they are young they were trying but not attentive enough to see we had a bottle of wine and bring glasses and the cooler which we had to ask for, plonked the water bottle on the table and left?At least we had entertainment voucher, would i go back ,no.

Over from Perth on holiday, pulled in for breakfast. Just had basic bacon & eggs and they were delicious . The coffee was also terrific.

Tried the take away spaghetti marinara it was one of best I have ever eaten. Before I opened the lid I could smell the seafood and garlic goodness and it did not disappoint plenty of seafood and a delicious sauce. Highly recommend

Located on Gouger Street, this basically decorated cafe offers all your traditional Italian fare. The staff here are friendly and inviting, and the service is good.
