Review Spaghetti Western Saloon & Dining Hall - Adelaide

Adrianna Morones
We were craving some Italian and walked by Spaghetti Western. The restaurant is large and has plenty of room for groups. There's a downstairs "saloon" area with really cute western vibes, and there's an upstairs with another small bar and seats for dining. They have a nice variety of things on their menu. My friends and I went with some appetizers and mains. For appetizers we got fried ravioli with a side a marinara. They were so delicious and I could have just eaten an entire bowl of those. It came with a generous amount, enough for the 3 of us to share. She also ordered the garlic, cheese, bacon bread, which was also very delicious. Comes with 2 slices and they were nice enough to throw in an extra slice for the 3 of us. We ordered the halloumi fries, but they were sold out, so we ordered the Arincini, three hand rolled sweet potato, mushroom & spinach arancini served in napoletana sauce w/ cheesy béchamel sauce (v). They tasted ok, I thought they could have been cheesier. For our mains we all ordered PENNE CARBONARA which had bacon, mushroom w/ parmesan cheese. We were so full from all our appetizers we didn't eat our mains. Took one bite though and it was very flavorful, cheesy, and quite tasty. Going to make for a phenomenal lunch. Service was very nice, but a bit slow. Again, the place is huge and it's 2 stories, so I can see why the service is a bit slower. Would go back again just for the fried ravioli.

Came here during my husband’s work trip to Adelaide and we had a late night bite here. We ordered the Fried Ravioli and Meatballs as entrees which were also accompanied by complimentary bread which was a nice touch! Very delicious. Fried Ravioli was a bit different and the meatballs were juicy and saucy! Yum! Unfortunately due to a mix-up for our main, the Spicy Crab Linguine did not come to our table for over 40 minutes and after notifying 2 x different staff twice, finally the issue was resolved and explained to us what went wrong as it was to do with the wait staff and not us. The staff at first offered us the Linguine for free and then management apologised sincerely by offering us our entire meal tonight on the house!! We were so blown away by their generosity and genuine regret this had happened. I applaud the management at Spaghetti Western for handling this issue with so much grace and sincerity. Thank you for showing us this kind of hospitality and generosity. My husband commented that we will never get this level of service back in Sydney where we’re from! We will definitely be coming back here in future and also tell others about this unexpected yet creative experience!!

Really yummy! Came here for a work lunch and was not disappointed. Has a range of pasta dishes and a great menu with lots of vegan options. Generous portions and reasonable prices. I had the eggplant meatballs and they were so moist and tasty!!

We arrived pretty early in the shift so the service was slightly slow but the delicious food and wine made up for this small concern. I had a prosciutto wrapped chicken sub with blue cheese dressing and lambs lettuce. Yum.

Spaghetti Western but all the pastas were overcooked garnished with some sad looking salad, and the prawns were fresh. Four items out of the small enough menu were not available on a not so busy night, what are the chefs doing? Drinking at the bar and smoking outside from what we can see. The drinks are way overpriced especially the cocktails, with an inexperienced waiting staffs that struggled to open a bottle of wine. Sorry.

I want to say I ate a toothpick and found it in my mouth. Whether it was from a toothpick, it was definitely a piece of wood that you can’t digest. I thought the environment was good, so I came in. But the service lady attitudes really bad to me, without respect. I went there on Wednesday night. And ate a meatball spaghetti that was made of wood. Really bad experience, the waitress had no apology and behave like it was not there fault. Sad and really bad experience. Wish all you know my experience. The meatball taste good though, order it if you want same experience as mine. Add: I ordered a meat ball spaghetti, they made a new one for me, end up with eggplant balls spaghetti. Don’t know why, haven’t been asked. The eggplant balls just too soft and puffy. Didn’t enjoy the second dish neither :(

Entered Early had a sweet white wine and a sandwich. Great Sandwich. Kate the manager was excellent.

Great food at a great price (for Pasta of the day). Going in for lunch meant the lunch menu was available. $14 for decent serving size of pasta in an establishment where all the regular menu pasta was ~$22+ was fantastic.

Unfortunately the pasta was very bland and disappointing. It also took sooooo long to come out. Every meal was bland and the pasta was over cooked. Loved the starters and cocktails though, but they didn’t make the experience worthwhile.

I feel like I should warn people that this place has had a recent owner change. To put it bluntly, the food went from “I’m full, might have a bit more because it’s pretty good” to “I’m only eating this because I’m hungry and I paid for this.”. Where to start.. the menu is missing quite a few old dishes and the spaghetti had bland tasting meatballs. Also, for some reason, bacon was incorporated into the seafood pasta? Anyways, not a place I’d recommend anymore.

I have been intrigued by the name so decided to meet a friend for lunch here. Love the complimentary peanuts in shells on the table. At lunch time you can choose between the ala carte menu or a lunch special menu. I went with the pronto lunch ($20) which was an antipasto plate for one and one of the two lunch special pastas - I went with three cheese ravioli with mushrooms which was a generous serve. Both were great. Add on a house beer or wine for $5 and you have an excellent value lunch. Excellent service. I will be returning.

We held a function there on the weekend and found the food and drinks overpriced, also had an approved drink list provided and found other drinks on the tab that were not approved. We also had a grumpy bar person who complained to the guest about the music and having to make cocktails.
It was also brought to our attention that one of our guests had to ask twice to get the correct change from a $50 as well.
Not really the service we expected from this place from previous recommendations. Most likely wont be coming back to this place.

Decent size portions. Slightly too oily food. Bar staff don’t pay much attention to customers and made us wait for service. Food wait time was long but at least they provided a magician to pass the time.

Apparently if you arrive at 5:55pm and order straight away but the bar staff take ages to open a bottle and pour, then Aperitivo Time does not apply because the cash register computer says 6:01pm (even though your iPhone says 5:59pm) so you have to pay full price. Not that you particularly care about the $7 difference for two glasses of Prosecco but it’s just bad service, right? No wonder the place was COMPLETELY EMPTY. 🍾👎🏼

I have been keen to pay Spaghetti Western a visit for a while and I'm now able to tick it off the list, but probably won't go out of my way to return. Actually, perhaps I would return for drinks, as I did enjoy the look and feel to the place, however, I found the food to be nothing special. The fried ravioli were obviously a must-order, mainly for the novelty factor, though they were quite bland-tasting, as was my grilled eggplant sub.

Can't fault the staff - very friendly and helpful.
And I did also enjoy the dimmed lighting situation which added to the whole vibe of the interior.

Food was ok. Nothing fantastic just large quantities. Service was good. Was there in a large group so did the spirits and food deal. Probably wouldn’t go back as there was nothing wow about it.

I came here with colleagues having heard good reviews. The place was odd with a western style bar downstairs, Italian style restaurant upstairs and pop music playing. We had the tasting menu...huge mistake! Everything was oily and deep fried. I had the tiramisu for dessert. It was brought out in a huge platter and a scoop was plonked onto my plate. Wine was served in water tumblers. Just terrible. Never coming back!

The staff here were extremely friendly, and that's about the only thing I can say good about this place. At the beginning of the night I ordered a blackberry cider and they told us they were out of stock. Not a problem I'll order something else. Later in the evening I went to order an apple cider and 20 mins later they finally brought out the drinks. I was served a blackberry cider which was not what I ordered. I asked the waiter why I was served this when I asked for Apple and earlier in the night I was told there was no blackberry ciders. He laughed and told me "oh yeah I had a look and found some" goodo.

Finally the food came out and I was greeted with one of the worst meals of my life. I had ordered the chicken picciata. It came out almost stone cold and the chicken tasted stringy and chewy, almost undercooked. I had about 3 mouthfuls and could not eat anymore.

Will not be going here again, nor recommending.

Was recommend to spaghetti western by a friend and overall was ok but not a place I need to go to again. The service is a bit average..we walked into the bar area and the guy behind it saw us but continues to talk to the staff member on break eating her dinner at the bar. So we stood there wondering if we were in the wrong place but the sign at the stairs says go to the bar. He eventually acknowledged us and took us upstairs to the restaurant part. The booths are ok but the two person booths are side by side with a low partition so u feel the need to sit on the edge of your booth to not feel like your sitting with the other two people on the other side. We had the fried ravioli, which without the sauce are pretty tasteless, the mini pizza that doesn't have enough truffle flavour, for entrees. The mains were pretty good, we had the spaghetti and meatballs, great pasta, and the veal. Service was still pretty average upstairs, friendly but slow especially when we asked for the bill. On a side note don't use the upstairs toilet..it has two toilets in one room and the toilet furthest from the wall is too far from toilet paper-would have used the closer one but it was very dirty.

Dined here last week with my friends. It's a very long skinny looking venue that has dining upstairs, drinks on the ground floor. Menu reminds me of Jamie Oliver, I ordered the gnocchi and was a bit disappointed. It was so salty! Every bite I had to take a drink of water. Seasoning is so important but over seasoning can just ruin a meal.

Hearty food, fun environment and engaging staff.

The fried ravioli I shared with two others was a fabulous starter. As per usual, we overdid it in the carb department, but I would most definitely recommend trying this and perhaps order less plates in total. Spaghetti Western are also famous for their meatballs, which one friend ordered and enjoyed. My gnocchi was cooked well and had mushrooms, so I was satisfied.

Spaghetti Western is an interesting restaurant, decorated in a Western theme. The food is delicious and the servers were all excellent. However, all the wines and cocktails were served in regular glass cups (the same ones that were used for water) instead of wine glasses. This might be okay in a quirky budget hipster cafe, but for a place on King William Street where you're gonna be spending around $40-$60 on dinner and drinks, being served a beautiful Adelaide Hills wine in a cup isn't really acceptable. Our group of ten was also disappointed to find out (at the very end of our meal) that unlike most modern day restaurants, they don't do split bills, so something that should have taken five minutes took more than half an hour as everyone had to go out looking for ATMs. I would like to stress that this is not the fault of the servers (who were all excellent and attentive) but of the people who actually run the place. So overall it was okay, but unless a few things change I won't be returning or bringing friends any time soon.

Spaghetti Western saloon is bringing a taste of the Wild West but with a twist! Where Luciano Pavarotti meets Clint Eastwood, the new King William Street venue blends American and Italian cuisine.
