Review St Peters Bakehouse & Coffee Shop - Adelaide

Juan Manuel Alvear Hernandez
The chicken and turkey sándwich are very yummy, very fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is busy because it's a well established business. I wanted to give them a 5 star review since the moment I arrived when I first saw the huge variety of things they sell, but when my sandwiches where delivered, I had nowhere to seat, there were 3 free tables but no chairs, however I asked for a spare chair to one of the workers but she said they don't have more. I had to start eating standing because they didn't have enough chairs. Then, we found one half way through our lunch. The buzzer for the coffee never buzzed, I had to go and asked what happened to my coffees and the barista gave them to me cold, they're ready long ago. Definitely it's a good place for the food, but needs more chairs and buzzers.

Usually a good experience but the Schnitzel wrap was dry and flavourless this time. The Steak and Cheese pie was very tasty but the lid wasn't joined properly and cheesey meat poured out the back and sides and was hard to eat.

Amazing food ! Value money! Friendly and welcoming staff ! Fast service ! Positive vibes ! Most recommended! P/s : if you are looking for the best carrot cake in Adelaide, please come here !

Amazing food, but extremely average service. Wait time on coffee is so long that your food goes cold before you get your beverage. On their best days, the coffee is okay (assuming they got your order correct for once)

Friendly efficient staff. Great chocolate donuts and Kitchener buns, always delicious and fresh! Good prices, quick service! There is always a line up outside the door for a reason!!! Highly recommend!!!!

I have been going here for 10 years, and am sad that we might have to find somewhere else. The food is usually delicious and consistent, but recently we have found every order has been wrong (3 times now) and the chunky steak pies now lack chunky steak. Starting to look elsewhere.

Had a wonderful Sunday breakfast with family! Nice family owned and run cafe serving for many years. Good location and ample parking spaces available.

Classic tasty South Aussie pies. I love their chicken mushroom / chicken corn pies. I’ve been eating pies here for ten years now and love them.

Great place to get your baked goods be it savoury or sweet. The apple custard tart is my favourite. Their cheese cransky is also super good! The parking is not designed well.

Love this bakery, sugar free muffins to die for, and coffee not too bad either! I try and visit this place at least once per Adelaide visit!

So I ordered the French toast with bacon and coffee. My fav. It was nice. Place is very shabby for st. Peter's. Needs a cleaner and updated look. The place does not have a clean smell. I will not being going back.

I used to love getting beef pie and kransky from this bake house. But unfortunately the standard has dropped significantly. The once flaky and drool worthy pastry for the pie and kransky is not ever so slightly flaky and mostly under baked. Taking a bite into the pie, the unbaked pastry tasted doughy. The coffee is not great either, tasted watery. I have tried buying pies at different times thinking it's just a once off but unfortunately it's not so. Bye St Peters bake house, you've given me good memory but don't think I'll return anytime soon. 😔

Delicious pies. My reason for going there- big chunks of meat and tasty gravy encased in not so greasy pastry.
Lucky if you can get a park within close proximity, then it's elbow to elbow to get served especially at lunch time.

Drawbacks - lack of serviettes on counter. Only one given even if able to get a table to eat at. Serviettes should be readily available.
This popular venue has outgrown its current location based on the lack of parking spaces and hazards crossing the street to get there. .

Fair to Middling. Certainly looks the part and everything seems attractive. But there are better places around - the all conquering Red Door, Brighton Jetty, O'Connell Street, in the city, Lobethal Gawle South or Tanunda in the country. Mind you - I've had worse.

And ten points off for sweet corn in the Cornish Pasty.

Smoke and mirrors. Bakehouse looks the part with tasteful decor but lacks in the food department.
Little range and coffee was below average.

Would only take a good baker with vision to turn this into a gem (and some staff training).

Less marketing and more substance needed.

Worst bakery around. Other then the pies I do not see what the hype is about. I live on eighth av, so being local I have tried this bakery many times and many times I have been disappointed. TO ANY COFFEE LOVERS do not buy coffee here. Although they have a wonderful machine, they don't have trained baristas, or maybe they're just lazy. Leaving the milk with a steam wand stuck in it, with no thermometer, to make a smoothie, my cappuccino was more like a watery flat white, with sugar mixed in at the last second. As much as I wish this bakery was good, I'm going to have to say it does not live up to any review I've come across. Two thumbs down.

Great pies, great cakes. One of the best bakeries I've ever been to.

Friendly staff, great quality food, great coffee and not expensive. What more can you ask for.
