Review La Tapita - Spanish Kitchen - Adelaide

Reasonably priced, and food is pretty tasty. The mixed paella and salt and pepper calamari were the stand-out dishes for me. Staff were very busy, but super friendly, and food comes out quickly. Spanish tapas style so you can enjoy a variety of dishes for a good price. We couldn’t see the paella on the menu but we just asked and they explained what was on offer.

This wonderful cosy Spanish restaurant located ideally on O'Connell Street is absolutely worth a visit! We have eaten Spanish food a lot in Melbourne & this is better than what we have found, I wish it was near where we live! We were greeted by Sonny, our waiter who provided excellent service throughout our visit. We had a selection of tapas including Mejillones a la marinera & Patatas bravas, as well as a Paella de Marisco. The food was all sooooo tasty & I could have eaten all night. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Came across La Tapita by accident and so glad we did, the staff are amazing, the food is amazing, it’s just like being in Spain! Our favourites were the albondigas con salsa de tomate picante (spicy meatballs) the pan tumaca con jamone (Spanish garlic bread) the mejillones a la Marinera (mussels) and of course the Paella! Couldn’t resist and also got the San Sebastián cheesecake and churros! Gracias! 🇪🇸

The tapas came out super quick, the chicken was very good and spicy. The waiter was attentive. Unfortunately the seafood tapas was slow to come out and I found it a bit lacking in seafood. It was good but I wished it had more seafood or even more vegetables to cut through the buttery rice. It was very busy for a weeknight.

This place is an absolute GEM! The food was delicious - every dish was balanced beatifully. We enjoyed the atmosphere - I felt like I was overseas - and the staff were delightful. The drinks were good too - might have developed a taste for Spanish wine! Great for gluten & dairy free. And you must try the San Sebastian cheesecake! Will definitely be going back there again!

Our favourite restaurant in North Adelaide. Always enjoy sitting outside, enjoying a wine and cold beer with a variety of tasty tapas and exceptional customer service. We have visited many times over the last 2 years and cannot wait to take family there in December. Thanks Sunny.

Had the paella but was a little bland. Had a few other plates that were much better and the mocktail jug was delicious. Can't remember what it was called but it was something citrus. Didn't have dessert but the rest of the table did. They seem to have enjoyed it.

As lone diners on this particular evening, we ordered at our leisure, (and chopping and changing because there's a good variety!) Which the server of the night was happy to let us do, as we were the only ones there. We decided on margaritas to start (duh) which were refreshing with a good hit of tequila. For our tapas we ordered the potatoes which were a good filler, calamares that was fresh and hot, the lamb with chimichurri - lacked a bit of flavour - spicy meatballs which weren't spicy, a chickpea and chorizo concoction (warming and hearty), chicken paella (yum). Apart from our initial greeting, the service left a lot to be desired - an example being he actually put our drinks down to answer a personal call. General lack of giving a shit. It's not the kids footy game on a Sunday morning, mate. Tempted to give a 2 but the rest of the night elsewhere has kept my spirits high.

Local mate and self have been wanting to try this place for a while, we were in the vicinity, so thought, well why not! Pretty disappointing in all, dishes were very average, service was nice. The meatballs were just okay, bit bouncy and the sauce tasted like it was just a tomato reduction. The potato & onion tortilla was very boring with no onion to be seen. The mussels were okay, at least plenty of flavour there, but needed to ask for some bread or cornbread as you just can’t eat mussels without soaking receptacles! Chicken wings, nothing special and croquettes, fairly nice, but tiny! These dishes also need an upgrade on presentation.

Probably would not return.

This place is a gorgeous and great place for Spanish food. We loved all the dishes we ordered. It’s a small place, but they more than make up for it with the food and the charm of the staff. Great service. Churros were a little lacking but overall fantastic.

Its a small restaurant with some rustic looking stools to sit on. Luckily for my dodgy back, we got there before the rush & changed our seats for chairs.
The staff are affable.
We had several of the tapas dishes & enjoyed it all with a particular mention for the ham-wrapped scallops and the fried potatoes. Also, the prawns that topped the seafood paella special were deliciously juicy and firm, obviously fresh.
I was surprised that the Gildas ($3) was a toothpick with an olive & a couple of small chilies: not value for money.
Too stuffed for dessert again.
