Review Weinstadl - Adelaide

Absolutely loved it. Went for our anniversary dinner.. Unfortunately we couldn't get a table on lower balcony. But still the views were spectacular.. They had a custom 6 course vegetarian menu as well. That was above and beyond what I expected. Really enjoyed it. Highly recommended

Had the pleasure of Dining at Windy Point Restaurant this evening with some very important clients. This is a very impressive restaurant with absolutely impeccable service from all staff encountered. We dined from the degustation menu which was totally sublime. Windy Point is well worth of the 5 stars awarded.

Wow, this is not a 5 course degustation... it a 5 course meal... the accompanying wines are great value .. service outstanding.

The night view is absolutely fantastic. Love it. And the set menu is value for money as well as the matching wine. The middle of the window has the best view.

The venue has an outstanding view, you can relax and enjoy the company of friends and family well into the night without being rushed off. Sadly I find the food quite basic considering the interesting dishes now presented in Adelaide. The gnocchi especially was a very average throw together and our coffees’ were the worst we have had for a very long time. The service was attentive and timely.

The view is absolutely amazing, makes the foods and wines tasted even better, highly recommended for those who love to have nice views with foods!!

edit: reduced to one star after the company not being contactable calling back or responding to messages for two weeks. —— I felt that this was a worthwhile experience! Everyone should do it once! Honestly I do think that most of what you are paying for to have this experience is a truly spectacular view, and that is not to be understated at all. It's wonderful. As a restaurant in this price range, dollar for dollar, there are restaurants with 5+ course menus that will knock your socks off compared to this restaurant though. One of the 5 courses stood out to me as delicious, but even I can cook a dish that tastes excellent if it is in the oven for 12 hours. So I feel that I didn't get the value in the taste of the food which is pretty important and why I would give this 3 stars. The view though, is a once in a lifetime experience, if it's in the budget do it once for sure.

Always a delight coming to Windy Point with their outstanding service. We were lucky to get a table against the window with the lovely view of Adelaide City. We had the set menu, where we got to choose from a few options for each course. Food was great, but I found the dessert quite average.

Like the other reviewers we drove past this for years as well - no more. Great food and service. We went on the Thursday night special night expecting a small crowd but it was busy - suggest you book.

As always a great meal. We had another great meal tonight at Coro's best restaurant. Served up with a humble dose of Michaels Austrian wit this will always be a favourite restaurant.

The food at this little hidden gem in the bush was amazing! The flavours and the quality are well worth the price, which is very decent, the atmosphere at the restaurant was warm, cosy and friendly, the staff were fantastic and the service was great, I will be going there again in a hurry!! Absolutely fantastic!! A+++++++++

First time to this hidden gem. I've driven past it for about 6 years now and finally we got there!
I can only talk of the food and service as we got there very late on New Years Eve and there weren't a lot of people.
The service was great, polite and attentive (I'm sure they thought we were rude as we were checking our phones all the time...but we were googling factoids about various conversational topics we were having).
But anyway...food was very delicious! A nice change from all the Thai, Chinese or pub food. It's a genteel place with plenty of knickknacks giving it a very different feel.
We will return soon. I'm keen to see it at a more dinnerly hour.

Superb.. Our lucky third time of dining at this Austrian restaurant. With the fireplace roaring, and a great selection of wines to choose from, host and owner Michael entertained us with fun stories long after the other patrons had left. He is a committed professional and passionate foodie. The Austrian Tiroller soup was a delicious entree followed by a perfect and tender Steak Madagascar and tasty pork medallions with mushrooms and fresh spaetzle for me. A lovely balance between delicate and robust flavours. We had to end with warm Apfel Struedel which was accompanied with vanilla bean icecream and whipped cream. Nestled in the Coromandel Valley, this is certainly worth a drive up into the hills.
Off The Street
A real restaurant. We’ve been coming to this quiet and hidden Adelaide hills restaurant for over 25 years! It probably still is the only real restaurant in the area: real cloth napkins (!), well trained staff, honest food in a character filled old home with an open fire and a lovely garden setting. The owner has developed a fantastic wine list featuring lots of S.A. wines and vintages. The food is European with an Austrian influence and is certainly more traditional than contemporary; the quality of produce has always been excellent. It’s a rather gentle and relaxing place to dine, and if you become a regular you will get to know some quirky and interesting characters (both staff and patrons!). They only open afew nights a week so you should probably book on a Saturday rather than arriving off the street!

I award this place the award for "most looks like someone's house, and not a restaurant."

Austrian Coromandel Valley May 18, 2014 There is no internet coverage here. I'm reduced to using "Notes" to type out my report tonight, like some primitive barbarian beating a rock against another rock. I tell the head waiter I have a booking for one. He tells me about SBS's Table for One, apparently on every New Years Eve. An odd introduction, but I'll make a note of it for December 31. The place is like a big house, and the main dining room is like someone's lounge room, but bigger. It's carpeted, and there are German ornaments everywhere. The music playing is a radio station. That's fine, other than the ads. Roast Duck Legs 7/10 With a Grand Marnier flavoured orange sauce, served with Spaetzle (a pasta) The duck is soft, and fairly tasty. Its gloopy, slightly orangey sauce is simple yet palatable. The Spaetzle reminds me of macaroni and cheese. They're little salty, tasty rinds of pasta. There's nothing but parsley on them, but they're good enough by themselves. This food is very re
