Review Zambrero Rundle - Adelaide

I just wanna say. My kids can do better wrapping than this. It’s either the wrap is not fresh enough or the hands are too soft to work. Literally ruined the dinner.

Excellent burritos 🌯 Yummy taste and pleasant outdoor area to eat 👌

Fantastic quality, great service, great incentive. Overall, my favourite place. A little too pricey for regular visits for me, but very understandable pricing considering the incentive

Food was good, quality that you would expect from Zambreros. The wait time took a little while (25 minutes) but considering it was a busy night (illuminate adelaide was on) with what looked like 2 people working it it wasn't too bad.

I go here a fair bit and tonight the service was absolutely horrible, very disappointed No smiles, attitude towards myself and other customers we're rude, I specifically said no jalapeno n they put them on my bowl. Very unsatisfied.

Worst customer service ever, unwelcoming and feel so uncomfortable when I ordered my food with my money! The lady was blunt, rude and very pushy to get me out of the store. This experience has been so uncomfortable for me I would not return as a customer.
Olivia Giameos
Maddy made such a good burrito!!! I asked for extra lime and she hand the perfect amount. Maddy you deserve a pay rise, please make me more burritos 😍😍😍

The WORST Zambrero I have ever been! 👎 Overall terrible customer service and pathetic portion! Order a power bowl and a power burrito, the burrito is just ok but the power bowl portion is not even like other stores’ regular bowl, there were no consistency at all! Seems like the portion depends on the staffs mood and willingness??? If so it will make sense , the Asian staff who served me was extremely impatient and lack of customer service skills, even have to ask twice to finally get a take away bag. Don’t even worth one star!!!

Great service and quality food. Out of all of the Adelaide chains this is my second favorite.

Hindley Street and Unley Road are also good. It's not the healthiest but if you don't get cream or too much sauce it still tastes great so something to think about.
Tamara
Very expensive for what you get especially in the East End where you can buy freshly made salads and rolls for a cheaper price. Good for a late night feed after a night out though.

The staffs are so cheerful and courteous. We ordered a meat quesellais and a beef burrito. We loved both of them. The ambience was good with very limited indoor seating.
Food - 4.5/5
Ambience - 4/5
Staff - 5/5
Accessiblity - 5/5
Cost - $$
Serving time - 3 mins at the max.
Really great place to get a filling and flavoursome lunch. I have ordered most of the burritos and enjoyed ever single one of them. Will be coming back in the future..

These quick and easy burritos are a must have when on the go or looking for something quick! Everything on the menu you HAVE to try if you love mexican food (just like me) would 10/10 recommend 🌯🌮🥙

Great spot for a quick bite. Busy too. Staff is friendly and I loved the set up. Definitely one of my safe go to places where I can be assured of consistency.

Great tasty vegan burritos, always fresh and fast. With a friendly staff ready to serve you. I will definitely be eating there again. Very happy

Great food, nice ambulance, what more can I say that I haven't said already, friendly staff, fresh fast food, happiness in a 10inch tortella :-) I'm a vegan so I get vegan burrito with everything that's vegan with no meat or cheese or sour cream. Verde sauce is good but spicy so make sure you like spicy is you get verde sauce because it's spicy. Nice people. Music is great. Always have the classics like Fergie and David Guestta. I just get to dance and eat my burrito. What more can I say.

AMAZING my go to place for the best burritos and mexican in town...never had a dissapointing trip. Always met with delicious food and friendly staff.. only down side would be the mageritas are now surved in a plastic cup. But other then that 5/5. The new addition of black rice is a godsend! . Do not go past or you shall regret 1! :)

Have visited this Zambrero many times. Can get very busy but line usually moves quite quickly. Service is friendly and fast. Most staff have good knowledge of dietary requirements. I can't go past a bean burrito with black rice and verde sauce. Really appreciate that they offer crushed corn chips on the vego options. Recommend for a quick tasty lunch.

A really solid takeaway burrito. Not disappointing in the least. The vegetarian option included extra non-meat filling, which was appreciated. Being from the States, I'm used to Chipotle. This is the closest thing I've found in Adelaide. It runs a little dry, which leaves one without that "wet mess" on the bottom that comes with most burritos. I'd definitely do it again.

This place is always so busy! Their burritos are really good here and also the bowls. You can choose your own ingredients and have a healthier option!
Sumit Gupta
Loved their burritos in a bowl. The ingredients are fresh and you can customize your dish as per your wish. The portions sizes are more than sufficient for a person. The prices are reasonable. I am no expert in Mexican food but if it's close to the food they serve, I've become a fan!
Laura
YUM!! Best fast food by far. The burritos are always fresh and the staff are generous with the toppings. I especially like the black rice burritos.
Ulysseselias
None Really. The worst suburban Australian version of mexican food circa 1972
Voyager
No clean at all (also the kitchen didn't look really fine) and with bad service. Why should I spend money in this place again?
EKTARA
Ground Control to MAJOR NOMS.. Love it. Love it. Love it!!!
Never fails to satisfy. Bean burrito and nachos are always delish.
And a cheeky frozen margherita is a nice compliment.
Marie
Yuck. I really enjoyed eating here until the girl behind the counter told me that the sour cream had baby cow feet in it. Scared for life. Zambrero no more.
Linh Nguyen
One of my favourite places to grab a good burrito. Very fresh, tasty, fast and reasonably priced. They're also got coronas here so you can wash down your burrito with a nice cold beer.
Ava
I always eat here when I have the chance. Burritos are reasonably priced, fresh, and tasty. Only problem is that the portions that they put in vary from person to person. I've learnt to pick between who make them better than others but if you're unlucky you'll pretty much end up with a rice burrito.

Great food and so tasty! One of my favorite take always
Hannah Conda
Pretty good. Food was tasty, quick, and not too expensive.
Vegan options are tasty :) staff were friendly and knew exactly what to do for different dietary requirements.
Good for fast food!

Decent fast food at a reasonable price.

The first time i went to zambrero i really enjoyed the burrito i got. However, the last time i went i was really disappointed. I would describe the burrito i had as EXPENSIVE MUSH. The ingredients were mushy, there was barely any meat, it was disgusting. I also thought paying an extra $2 for guacamole was a rip off considering there was hardly any in there and i couldn't even taste it.

Mexican... more like nice wraps.. Pros: Food is prepared fresh, the portions are plentiful, and the service is normally good.
Cons: Too much rice put into the burritos, and the meals feel more like fancy wraps rather than a mexican experience...
Let's face it... it's late night pub grub. Nothing wrong with that by the way.

I can't lie, I practically live on zambreros at uni. You can't get a better vegan, filling, fast, tasty and semi-nutritious meal in the city. Then again, you can't expect too much from a $7.50 chik-ito. The staff are pretty cool too !
Gossip Girl
Great place for a quick burrito. It was good, not great if u were looking for something more traditional, but tasty and quick. The restaurant was a bit messy though. But still recommend it.
Adrian Mann
Having been a regular customer for last year, eating every 2 weeks, when in the city, up toll last all was pretty good. But last week, 'short' portions had me questioning the girl serving me... Cue the 'owner' I believe, doing his worst to resolve the situation. I walked out, much to his bewilderment, will not return....
Riz
Wonderful for a cheap and quick meal. Had a soft taco which was quite tasty and satisfying especially considering it only cost $5. I wish I could remember the name of the person who served me because he was extremely friendly, definitely the most friendly out of all the staff. Don't come here if you are expecting something fancy as that's not what it's about. But if you need a late night meal or something fast I would recommend this over your usual fast food joints.
Ali Beach
Great place for lunch, the burritos are yum, with the option of a bowl for a less heavy meal. I love Zambreros!
Dolce
Free plastic in my burrito. Friday night burrito, hold the plastic please!

They shredded plastic along with their lettuce. Chunks of plastic. It's too indecent to describe how I pulled it out of my throat.

Better to go elsewhere...or check for plastic.

Rad place!. I have been to this Zambrero location several times and have found it fantastic!
The staff are great, always friendly and chatty, and I always get fast service, even over the busy lunch period it is not bad. It is always busy over lunch, and has pretty good music playing which creates a great atmosphere.
10/10!
(All these reviewers complaining about rice ... you can ask for your burrito WITHOUT rice!!)
Jarrod
Yum. I was impressed to see a vegan option, it tasted unreal.. The bread was what made it. The serving size is huge, almost too big (unless drunk on the town, in which case I would demolish it with ease). Keep up the vegan option and I'll be back!
Ryder Grindle
While the food here is tasty and healthy, the service is truly appalling. On our visit, a staff member by the name Josh was sullen and rude from the outset, seeming to find our custom inconvenient, huffing throughout our order and then being so exceptionally rude when we tried to use the bathroom that we left, food uneaten. We will never return to the Rundle Street franchise. Disgusted.
Rhiannon
Zambrero is epic. The food is always fresh. The staff are crazy and always make your day. The walls are green. I would live there if I could.
Hunger Man
Ok but expensive.. The burritos are ok and expensive, you get small potions of meat inside but a lot more rice. If you want to add more or somthing that like avacado it gets even more expensive. Not bad but not great either.
Krystal Chase
The food is great!. Amazing place, the food is great. Eating area is a little cramped and sometimes dirty, especially when busy, but when you're getting stuck into a burritto you don't even notice. Food is moderately priced but considering how much you get, its decent value. Overall, pretty good.

Unlike other reviewers, i do.... Unlike other reviewers i actually like the taste even though it's not exactly mexican.

The things i do agree with others on, and what stops me from going here more often, is:

1. always filthy tables and floors

2. staff attitude - too high a hipster quotient; always more busy talking to each other than clients. Look annoyed.

3. slow service - not helped when staff try to do 2 burrito orders at once.

Late night munchies lured me out of my cave to seek some relief. Walked past but never really thought much of it. Ordered a chicken burrito and a full side of corn chips heaped with salsa, red onions, guacamole and sour cream. Also ordered a coke. $20 was quite steep, but portions were huge and my companion and I could not finish our food. Taste wise it didn't really resemble Mexican food as it had rice in it and the chicken was very starchy and sparse. Chips were ok. Passable for a one off feed but it needs alot more work taste wise for a repeat visit.
Lsmi
The place was filthy! Food was expensive - $20 for a feed & beer. Would have been better off at a pub.
John Carver
Okay. I like it. Fresh and tasty is always good. However the staff are generally a bit gruff. Chin up guys. Your life is not that bad. Uni will finish and you can move on. Also if you're going to charge $2 for guacamole please give more than a spoonful. Avocados aren't gold.
Gertrude Bliss
This is no where near Mexican. The rice is slop and the place is dirty and not at all healthy. And the service is so slow. Really disappointed

Zambrero is a Mexican style franchise restaurant with 2 stores in Adelaide and a several others in most states in Australia. So why am I talking about it on here. Zambrero has recently made all of their vegetarian options vegan friendly. This is a great move on their part but not particularly surprising as Zambrero is known for a certain ethical view. They are partnered with an organisation called Stop Hunger Now in a program called Plate For Plate (P4P). Essentially for every plate of food sold at any franchise Zambrero donates one plate of “high protein, high vitamin meals that help strengthen people suffering malnutrition.” So anyway back to the vegan food. I eat here every few weeks because with the weirdness of Adelaide’s business opening hours it is generally the only good vegan option late night on a weekday or on a Sunday. I so far have only had the burrito, but that’s because it’s pretty awesome. The burrito is a mix of rice, some bean puree, guacamole and whatever salad

The only thing that looked presentable was the Beef Bowl, so that’s what I ordered. Beef Bowl The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about what was on offer.
