Review Sushi Bar Konnichiwa - Adelaide

David Maddison
Wow! The nigiri and udon here were out of this world! So fresh and tasty! Even the rice of the nigiri was soft and warm. The prawn udon contains one prawn which is a bit disappointing because it is also the most expensive. The agedashi tofu was a bit too firm with too much batter. Also, the meals came out a significantly different times. We were 3/4 of the way through our udon when the karaage was served

Polite and professional staff, amazing food and reasonable prices. We had the squid and octopus sashimi (pictured), takoyaki, miso ramen with pork, aburi salmon (pictured) and fried chicken (pictured).

Recently changed their store layout, much better layout I think. This is my favourite sushi in Adelaide, their prices are very reasonable and the quality of food is excellent and really fresh tasting. Never going to the other chain restaurants in Adelaide again! Most of their service staff are excellent, though one of the girls isn't really with it. So I can understand some of the other reviews about service. But for me the food outweighs this. I mostly order nigiri sushi from here and haven't tried most of their other dishes.

The sushi was good. Wasn't the best i've ever taste, but still acceptable. The service was awesome! A lot of smile from the waitress and the chefs. My son was being noisy and hyperactive when we were there, but the staffs all seems to enjoy the moment and smiling and laughing with my son. I always rate service way above taste. And this place get 5 stars for its service. Definitely will come back again.

Best sushi train ever, they have the best salads (octupus, abalone, sea weed etc) and the best sauce on sushi, that nowhere else has. I don't really like sushi as a dish but their sushi is an exception. Also, the staffs are really friendly and polite, $3 PER PLATE FOR ALL THEIR SUSHI, WHAT ELSE WE CAN ASK FOR.

This place is great for sushi and other Japanese meals, all freshly made, for both dining in and takeaway. You can get whatever sushi or sashimi you like for $3 per plate, highly recommended 😀 Edit: from March 2018, they've redesigned the restaurant to remove the conveyor/train, so it's more of a table and table service based style. No longer any plate of sushi or sashimi for $3, now plates can be ordered a la carte or in complete sets. The service remains lovely and polite, still my most recommended sushi place in Adelaide.

This place is a hidden gem on Gouger St! We went to Konnichiwa Friday night. Not so many sushi on the rail so we ordered what we wanted. Absolutely fresh, yum ever. Even my fussy friend loved Konnichiwa sushi. We couldn't believe only $3 per plate. Service was really nice even though it was the busiest night. We will definitely be back again!

1 star because there is no 0/5 star. Went there on a friday which is supposed to be the busiest night. They were serving fried chicken sushi that tasted like stale bread it had been sitting there that long. Didnt get the drinks we ordered and we left after everything tasted horrible. Recommend save your money and go somewhere worth your hard earned dollars

Great food and service was good too. A nice dinner place to relax and one of the best sashimi places in Adelaide! Will definitely visit again!

Lovely little place. A little pricey in my opinion, but the meals are worth it, would recommend. The food was cooked fresh and everything was delicious :)

Food was decent. Quite small portions but i guess thats how the shop can charge 3aud/plate . Aburi salmon and aburi eel was pretty good value. Love the kakiage nigiri and their diff types salad, octopus, seaweed and abalone.
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
Wow is all I can say, staff are polite and very welcoming and asked if I have been there before. I said no... She explain the menu and I waited maybe 10 mins for them to make my rainbow roll and my sashimi deluxe and when it arrived I was blown away. So fresh and taste amazing I can't wait to come back again.

Service was good but we weren't impressed with the food. Some of the sushi rolls tasted old and stale, and I doubt they keep track of when they put the plates on the rail meaning the plates could be there for hours. We ordered tempura prawn and got exactly two prawns and a tiny piece of vegetable tempura.

Amazing service and I love the food, they specifically make vegan friendly foods for me upon request, Me and my partner go here weekly, cannot fault.

I ordered katsudon. It was very disappointment. The fried pork was nothing I could not find the meat(white part). I only ate bread crumb and flour. I regret that I did not take a photo of it.

We entered this restaurant. Because all sushi was $3. sushi was really small. We ordered hot meals. It was too salty. I will not coming back again.

Just been there over the weekend. It was very quiet and we were the only customer in the restaurant.<br/>The sushi are quite cheap but small. We ended up buying quite a lot of them and still not filling. Quite disappointed in that department. Not sure if I'll be going back there.

The sashimi is very fresh and generous portion. great staff. The owner gave us some Sake to try, it's really nice. Takoyki is authentic too. Will come back next time.

Fantastic service, great specials and the staff are amazing. What started as a quick stop for aburi salmon and a beer turned into over an hour of eating and drinking while having a laugh with the chef and waitress. Adelaide needs more places like this.
