It's in a great spot and great interior. Food was tasty but for the size of portions the prices too much. We had a tasting many and we're getting know portion per 3 people. It was hard to divide and to be full at the end. I was only vegetarian and got my own portions at some stages but there's no protein source on veg dishes, only grilled salad or chopped salad instead of meat. For one of the dishes we waited over an hour too. Drinks are very expensive without cheaper options. They share bathroom with the stag which is overly crowded and dirty most of the time.
Over all we had a good evening but I doubt I will be back anytime soon.

Went there with my friend yesterday for dinner. The food was fantastic and local, the waiters were very well informed about what was on the plate as well as engaging. Overall a very good experience. Highly recommend the duck breast with braised fennel- best duck I've eaten so far in my life.

What a brilliant addition to a beautiful old pub. The once 'steak restaurant' part of The Stag is now a wonderful dining experience that doesn't feel stuffy or pretentious. I looked at the menu and booked online. My friend and I walked around Vardon Ave one hectic Saturday night, very confused when we couldn't see a big sign saying 'Charlick's'. We didn't realise that it was part of The Stag Hotel, and the dining addition to the hotel's upgrade that has really bought it back to life. Back to the food. It isn't cheap, but for what you get, I wouldn't expect it to be. My duck breast with bbq plums, red cabbage and jus was sublime. My vegetarian friend was also delighted with her meal of roasted broccoli with miso and some nutty thing on top too. A number of the meals can be made vegetarian, which is great to know as the menu is meat heavy and could scare off the vego's. The choice of 2 desserts being a citrus tart and fresh berries with orange blossom cream sound simple, but were both divine. So flavoursome and the perfect end to a wonderful dining experience. I cannot wait to get back. Welcome to the East End Charlick's! Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere, amazing food and excellent service. True value for money dining with a well crafted menu that delivers on taste, presentation and delicious surprises with some very interesting ingredients. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Nice, relaxed restaurant. Food was very nice, but would recommend that you have a starter and main course each, even if you are sharing. Portion size isn't huge. Good wine list.

Food was good but portion sizes were tiny for the price. There are so many other venues in the city where you get great food for decent a price.
