Review Nagev - Adelaide

My wife, who is vegan, loves this place and she took me for a special dinner in Valentine's Day. The food was delicious. I was so satisfied with the meal that we will go back on the weekends for lunch or dinner. Highly recommended. They have indoors or outdoors tables. Parking at the back.

Went here for the first time today and was so amazed with all the options! I had a beautiful chai latte and the Latin arepa, my partner had the avo bruschetta. Both absolutely delicious meals on top of very friendly service. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

Fully vegan menu. Really nice meals with fast service. Presented really well. Attention to detail and cheery service.

First time here today. This place is amazing. Food 11/10. The coffee was the best I have ever had partially because I had never stepped out and tried a non-basic latte. Huge range of options; almost too many!

It's impossible not to love coming here. The owners and staff are so incredibly friendly. I've been coming to Nagev for a number of years, however with the transition of new owners a few years back. The place has just gone from stre gth to strength. The food is always amazing and so filling. The coffee is spot on everytime. There are so many amazing plant based options it makes it so hard at times.

It’s always those little details that keep me coming back to Nagev: from the perfect taste of every dish to the personalised details for their customers. Thank you million times Bea, Jorge and your staff for every dining experience. You are superstars 🌟

Best Vegan in Adelaide. Every item on the menu is delicious but nothing can beat the big breakfast here! The desserts and cakes are also delicious. The blueberry cheesecake is definitely my favourite. I love trying all their new creations when they come out. They even make cakes for special occasions which is a bonus! Service is always top notch, friendly team and great atmosphere.

This place has been on my list for a while. Great food, and really inspiring. The popcorn cauli is incredible. There is a large car park out the back, and a cute lil courtyard patio for the sunny morning. Don’t forget the VIP room if you’re looking for something a bit more intimate. It took my a while to work out Nagev is Vegan backwards, hahaha.

I'd rate my experience at Nagev average.

The smoky burger was a winner, and came with a side of hash fries. My takeaway carrot cake sadly didn't fare so well. It was dry with a sickly sweet, grainy frosting. I suppose it's difficult to emulate the usual non-vegan cream cheese variety. Service was kind of aloof. My friend and I were the only diners in the front seating area, and the woman behind the till kept disappearing out the back. She could have at least waited for us to order before ducking out, especially as it wasn't table service (she failed to mention this). The menu offers a broad variety of vegan options, but I think I'll seek other plant-based eateries in Adelaide before heading back here.

I've never been to an all vegan cafe before so why not give it a try. .. nagev surprised me ...I had their breakfast burger and it was delicious .... I mean I missed my eggs but I wouldn't fault their food... If you're vegan or would like to try vegan food- this is the place for you .... Lots of gluten free options too

All food & drinks have always been really good & fresh at Nagev the Plant based cafe. Friendly staff. I guess people (and the cafe/restaurant) want to hear also what could be improved upon. So that being said the omnivore liked the PB brekky burger, he said he would’ve liked some tomato or some sort of acidity with his as the ‘Nagev’ sauce wasn’t quite enough, I shared my tomato & he said it then balanced it a lot better & cut through the creaminess which overtook the limited bacon he was given.
I did pay extra $3.50 for mushrooms- and although they were cooked perfectly, I did feel it still was not real value for money for how much I got. Same goes for the very limited house baked feta.. it was more like a garnish amount.
It does have to be said that the toilet needs attention (I understand it’s an old building) but what I mean is having extra soap - they had run out - albeit a tad mixed with water. And although I appreciate the no paper towels, there was only a tea towel hanging on back of door to dry hands on, it would be great to have an all natural antibacterial gel to use as well.
The seats are not the most comfy (no backs and hard) the tables aren’t friendly to my MS affected legs as the table legs are in the way unless you lift & put them over the ledge. More able-bodied people wouldn’t think too much about this, but I do. Wheelchair access would be fairly difficult particularly independently, as there is steps into the cafe, fortunately I didn’t need it - and we got a rock star carpark out the front! Still, wouldn’t stop us/ me from going again (4th time there so far) Just something to think about. Coffee drinkers said it was very good coffee. The sweet potato fries (and regular fries) are really good - you can taste that they don’t use old oil & that they use good quality salt, lightly sprinkled on top (I usually hate people adding salt for me) Cost of 3 brunch meals (1 with ‘extra’ mushrooms), 3 drinks & a side of sweet potato fries was $75+ dollars.
It’s really great to see take home meals available, I would’ve liked to have the option of the current green curry & rice on the menu so I could’ve tried before I bought, however we did take home some pastries🥧🍴🌱

It’s as simple as: there is no where this GOOD in Adelaide. Nagev takes the title for sure. Every time I have eaten there I have been blown away. The money you pay is for the excellent quality of the food, so trust me- it’s worth it.

Have been before but took my non-vegan son and my vegetarian daughter for lunch. Verdict- excellent! My daughter had the Nagev burger with the sweet potato fries-she enjoyed this thoroughly. My son said he "wouldn't have known it was vegan except that it had no meat in it"-not a boy genius! He usually baulks at the idea of vegan food but reported that it was "really good" and was impressed by the fact that he felt full after (he has previously stated that he only feels full if he eats meat). Drinks were also of an excellent standard AND they don't use disposable straws! I might have some vegan converts on my hands soon!

I have heard and seen so many positive posts about Nagev via social media and thought today i would check it out with my partner as we are trying to find a good local vegan place to book out for an event in October - and i hate to say it, but it would have to be one of the worst places i have eaten at.
When we arrived we ordered our brunch, I ordered a black tea and smashed avo, tomato and almond feta on a piece of sourdough toast and my partner had a thickshake and burger - it came to just under $50.
We sat out the back in a little outdoor area.
The drinks came out first and my tea came with no sugar - no biggie i thought, ill ask her for some when she comes back.
Then our meals came out and both looked amazing - i asked her for sugar and she came back, plonked it on the corner of table with nothing to stir it with and walked off. I had to stir it with my fork, and for some reason the tea had a strong chemical taste. Then i took a bite of my meal and nearly chipped my tooth because it had a hard lemon seeds under the rocket. The almond feta looked and tasted like rocks of salt mixed with almond meal and i couldnt eat it because of the saltiness, there was next to no avocado on the small piece of toast i was given and 2 really thin slices of tomato. No salt or pepper was offered and the balsamic tasted like a dessert balsamic and was WAY too sweet for that meal.
My partner hated his burger, he said the entire consistency was like whipped cream between 2 burger buns, had no taste and also had lemon seeds in it... why?
Being nearly noon and both of us starving we finished and left (not that i had much on my plate to finish being such a small serve) but i couldnt drink the tea due to the chemical taste and left the entire pot.
When we ordered we did say we would come back in after our meals and buy some of the yummy looking treats from the display cabinet for takeaway, but instead left through the back gate and ended up stopping at a servo to buy drinks and food to get the taste put of our mouth.
I really hope this was a once off experience as Adelaide really doesnt have enough good vegan venues, and if a non vegan came here with this type of food and service - good luck trying to convert them. Their instagram looks AMAZING (thats what caught my eye) and i hope to one day give them another chance in hopes that it was just a once off bad day for them, but we wont be returning any time soon, and i wouldnt recommend this place to anyone after the experience both of us had today. Such a shame
I loved this place! It's trendy, cute, clean, the waitress was really nice, the treats in the cabinet looked amazing, from the moment I walked in I loved it. It's so nice to order anything off a menu and just know it's all vegan. The peace of mind I have eating somewhere 100% vegan is so much better than eating anywhere else. We had the French toast which would have been beautiful except it was a bit burnt which is the reason for not giving a 5, and the burger which was divine. We also had a peanut butter crunch smoothie which was perfect and a matcha chai. I'm one of those heathen sugary chai powder lovers so the chai wasn't my fave but still ok. The salted caramel peanut butter butterbing was the best thing I've ever had in my mouth!

So excited that Adelaide has a fully vegan cafe with a decent menu and options and it's also quite local to me! I have only visited once and will definitely visit again to try another menu option as our visit was for my boyfriend to attempt the pancake challenge they were hosting and I ordered their normal pancakes. They were honestly so, so good!! I loved them. Their hot chocolates are also incredible (it came as apart of the pancake challenge)
Great service too!
I will return!

I love eating here. Well-priced, creative and healthy food. Great breakfast or brunch joint, and they make all their own cakes, donuts and things in-store. I love their pies.

Good vegan slices and cake!

Expensive for something that could be easily recreated at home. I had really high expectations after following the page online for months.

However.. ordered a burger and there was blonde hair in food... no one working on the day had blonde hair so was old...

Also had the pancakes, which were too sugary and all burnt

Nagev offered a wide range of plant-based breakfasts, all of which looked incredible. The 'meat' and 'egg' were extremely convincing both in looks and taste. The restaurant had a bright and welcoming feel and the staff were very friendly and personable. I will definitely be back and can't wait to try more brunch dishes!

Would rate this place a 0 if i could. And for valid reason. I started my day so excited to try this new vegan place that my friends had boasted about....and didn't even have the honour of TRYING the food. After walking into the restaurant we were informed that we couldn't eat because "the kitchen had been busy today." What exactly they meant by that I am still unsure. Business should be thriving on busy days..That's what you hope for when you start a restaurant. Whether they simply didn't have enough staff on or were out of stock it just shows how poorly and unorganised they are. Glad I didn't plan to make a big day of it or went with a group because that would of completely sent us in a tail spin. Shame that businesses that stand for such great things have been so disappointing. Very confused and probably won't return for fear of unreliability again. :(

Absolutely amazing!!!! Best food, amazing staff and the cakes are just incredible. The girls are so talented. Easily my most favorite place on earth right now.

Went to the Nagev dessert night a couple of weekends ago. OH MY LORDY! The bomba was immense. Firstly lit up, then to maintain its coldness. The chunks of lemon gelato and raspberry were the best. thing. ever. Followed by the best espresso martini I've ever had. A great night out in the suburbs with amazing people. Eager for the next one. Thanks guys!

I go off friend recommendations all the time, so when my close Vegan friend raved about this joint I had absolutely no hesitations in trying it! On busy Payneham road you can easily miss this practically hole in the wall vegan institution. However when we entered we were greeted with the biggest smiles and warmest welcomes. Although their menu is not extensive it still offers a good variety of options. All day breakfast options sound amazing and I opted for the seasonal vegetables with a baked bean side complete with field mushrooms! I ordered a lychee berry smoothie to wash it down with. I left with a content heart and stomach and cannot wait to return to try the other fare.

P.S. I left with a Raw bounty Alice that didn't even make the journey on the walk back to the car!

Simply delicious!

Nice little place with great menu. I always end up grabbing some cake and pies for lunch afterwards. Best vegan big breakfast around. If I had one criticism, the scrambled tofu could be better. Can be a bit dry sometimes. But that bacon! My gosh its sooo good.

We visited and tried the breakfast and burger. Burger came out dripping with mayo and was disgusting, breakfast was OK but scramble was very gloppy textured and offputting. There are so many good veggie burgers in Adelaide that won't charge you $20 for the privilege, so go elsewhere. Not worth the money.

Matcha chai latte was amazing, I had mine with soy which was well cooked. To eat I had the big breakfast- unfortunately they were out of bacon but they subbed it with avo for me, the tomatoes were really good, nicely caramelised- tofu was a bit underwhelming but good once I added salt. The owners received the feedback well and thanked us for letting them know. Desserts look delicious. Give them a go.
