Nice little cafe with a welcoming environment and friendly staff. Nico Cafe is one of the few places in Adelaide I go to for my matcha latte fix. They always seem to make it better than others, where I found that some were too milky or lacking in matcha strength.
I had just realised that Nico cafe have changed the ownership since 11/4/2016. Thank you the previous owner Gary and her wife Nami for all the effort he put into this cafe.
I will miss you Gary!! especially your coffee !!
"it's a farmer's union iced coffee or its nothing - unless it's an iced coffee from Nicos!!"
Their iced coffee is far superior to farmers union.
Nico Cafe is a personal favourite - it's an absolute gem. The service is fast and efficient and workers are so friendly and genuine. The food is generously dished and always delicious. The hot drinks are also consistently awesome.
A very interesting location for a small Japanese fusion garden styled cafe. However, despite the location, the place itself was very pleasant. It had a very garden like feel to it with simple decorations and very smartly created menus from children's books. The menu itself had a variety as it is a cafe there were food that included sandwiches and classic breakfasts with a little touch of Japanese cuisine. I personally tried one of their Teriyaki Chicken rice bowls and it was absolutely amazing! As a true fan of Japanese food I was most delighted with the outcome. It was simple yet filling. Perhaps I had arrived with zero to no expectations and thus I was taken by the surprise. Service was friendly and had a relaxing atmosphere. Perfect to come for breakfast or lunch by yourself or with a company or two.
(Since this review, the cafe has changed owners and the menu is different now.)
Love this little cafe!
If you are going to visit this cafe, i would strongly recommend everyone to try
their pork rice bowl!
Before you leave, please must try their homemade sweet and their quality coffee!
Such a cute little Japanese cafe! Their food was exquisite, and so delicious! I had the chicken doria, and it had a lovely egg hidden in the middle, with runny yolk too! My friend tried the tuna mayo don, and the portion was huge! Will definitely come back for a second time!
Walk in the other day and ordered whole tray of blueberry muffin and the teriyaki chicken salad platter for catering to be picked up the next following day for the business meeting at 7am.
It was very delicious and well prepared.
Please noted that they only do catering pick up, not for delivery.
We will definitely be back to try their food :)
Nico cafe is my favourite cafe in Adelaide.
Service is always friendly.
I was surprised that they rememeber my usual even I just been there once :)
I love their chai latte since I been trying lots of coffee shop, they measure the right amount for the drink always and never overpower for the sweetness:)
My recommendations for the dish that everyone must try are tamago toast and wasbai avocado bowl. It was so tasteful and delicious. That's the reason why they catch my attention as they doing something very difference from other local cafe.
After being stranded at Parafield and eating the overly oily and salty mess food, my palate craved an almighty change – something more simple, something more bearable, something nice. However, I was ultimately disappointed by two proponents of horrible food and service in the form of Chinatown’s residents, Ryo’s Noodles and Lemon and Lime Thai Café. Hence, to wrap up my Adelaide adventures, I flicked through the internet to discover a pleasant surprise located within the CBD of Adelaide.
Stopped in for a take away cappuccino and that was amazing but what was even better was the little blue berry muffins. Highly recommend. Service is outstanding and very friendly. Will be Back soon for lunch with my partner
