Popped in for casual late Friday lunch, shared a pho and cold noodle beef salad. Both dishes were yum, fragrant and very filling. Very humble (ok, tacky and grungy are more accurate words) decor, but for Asian outlets we always seem able to suspend our standards... very friendly service. Will return!
Enjoyed the pork and chicken banh mi from here. Though I wouldn't say this was the best I've ever had, the filling was generous and overall it was very yummy.
A quaint/simple establishment but with a nice atmosphere and terrific food. I will be back for more Tom Yum soup. Only worry is that I have a slight headache (which I never normally get) which strongly suggests they may use MSG which I am very sensitive to. I did ask whether they used it and they said 'no'. Having said that I will definitely give it another try.
I came across this cute little spot while looking for a quick bite on Melbourne Street. I had a chilli chicken roll and loved it! It had a perfect amount of spice for my liking. It was very tasty, filled with many vegetables and no surprising chewy bits. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The young lady who served me was also very lovely.
Will be back next time I am on Melbourne Street.
Cafe 99 is located on the popular Melbourne Street cafe precinct in North Adelaide. It’s been on my “to eat” list for quite some time and it’s only now that I’ve had a chance to check it out. The cafe itself is small and the place itself looks a bit dated. The menu is a mix of Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai cuisine. There are your standard cold rolls, bread rolls and salad bowls. With the soups, there are a selection of beef noodle soups or laksa with your various proteins. Similar with the stir fries where you can choose from Pad Thai or a Chinese stir fry.
Best bah mi I've ever tasted so far. Although $7 is a bit pricey compared to others. Their bread rolls are larger and filling is generous as well. Owners are very friendly and make you feel pleasant dinning there. HOWEVER, please avoid the young skinny girl as she constantly gives significantly less filling than others. Feel so ripped off every time I am served by her. 1 mark off because of this young lady.
Lovely place!. The staff were so lovely, especially the owners. Food was great - pho was a little too plain but reasonably good. Only Asian cuisine place that was open before 10am in the area. Will definitely be back my next trip down!
Great food, bland exterior. Do not discount this place because of its bland exterior! I made an account just to write this review because I want other people to know about this place. The food is amazing and is great value! Highly recommended.
Best Laksa in Adelaide. No one beats their Roast Pork Laksa is amazing, it’s not on the menu so insist you want it and they’ll make it.
We loved this little cafe! The prawn rice paper rolls were very yummy, the Banh Mi was delicious! Fast service and really reasonable prices, I also love that they stay open throughout the afternoon, it's hard to find somewhere to eat at 3pm around this neighborhood but their open!
Would recommend cafe 99. Nice staff and laska
Wow. Can not believe i waited so long to try this place. Had the pork Vietnamese roll and was amazing. Definitely recommending to all. And to have awesome friendly staff aswell. Which is always hard to find. Complete thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍
The best food on Melbourne street! I regularly eat here & can say everything on their menu is amazing. Favorite is the roast pork salad.
The best won ton soup I have ever eaten packed full of prawns and won tons, very friendly staff who care about customer satisfaction. Great little spot, I highly recommend this place.
The kids always want to go back to Cafe 99. The young ones for the Chicken and Sweetcorn Soup. Older one for the Pho. And dad for the Seafood Laksa. Friendly staff.
Awesome Pork Roll and love their hot Vietnames coffee. Close your eyes and enjoy the crunchiness and juciness of the Pork Roll. Ohhh yeahh
