Review Providore - Cake And Patisserie Shop - Adelaide

I've only had Portuguese tarts from maybe 20 different places, but these ones are by far the worst I've ever had. Funnily enough, this place is my regular for Portuguese tarts as they are usually excellent. This is my first time buying on a Wednesday and I suspect it was very stale/hard stock from the previous Saturday. Edit: I spoke to the staff and they gave me a full refund and explained that they were delivered the previous day.

Such delicious cakes! It was so hard to choose. I had the vanilla slice, and the best melting moment I've ever had.

Refused service by one young staff member because i wasnt wearing my mask properly. Since returning to the stall thereafter she has continued to not serve either myself or my husband and will walk away when we come even if she doesn't have anyone else to serve. Disgusted by this and will not return again after going there weekly for years!

We keep on coming back just for their baked treats especially the CRONUTS! My goodness!! They have different sweets and pastries for everyone! Make sure to visit this stall when you’re at the market!

OMG a cake lovers dream! The size of some of the slices of cakes....well are extremely good value for money. Next time Im going to try the panacotta lamington, just didn't have enough room after lunch & it is a huge piece. The tiramisu is very nice, I've had that before.

Providore has a wide selection of desserts on display that would make the sweet tooth froth at the mouth in excitement. I tried the Portuguese custard tart ($3), which still tasted good and creamy, but unfortunately mine was cold.

Got some sweet treats takeaway here, the tiramisu was yummy and same as the vanilla slice, which got almond inside, yummy

Love their cakes variety! They have amazing cakes, tart, bread anything you want for a sugar fix! The only downside is that they don’t sell coffee. But coffee shops are around the place anyway so not a huge problem. Will definitely come back for other cakes!

Providore is a great place to stop and get your sweet fix. Their selection of cakes, desserts, ice cream and tarts are superb. They have whole cakes and tart to buy or you can also get a slice to satisfy your sugar needs. So tasty and homely, I love their lemon tart. Prices are fair and you can eat there or take away. Only problem is what do you choose!

Quaint cafe tucked on Ebenezer place. Not a huge list of options for lunch but despite the limited options, whatever they serve is good food. Reasonable coffee

Every time I walked past Providore when I made a visit to the markets I would be so drawn by all the tempting sweet treats lining the cabinets. The other day I finally got around to buying a selection of treats from here and sadly they were nowhere near as tasty as they looked.

I had high hopes for the Vanilla Slice, but the soggy pastry let it down. The filling and the icing on top were great, but the pastry plays such a big part in this treat I feel like it can't be over looked.

The chocolate chip cookie was another let down. It was very hard and crumbly - not the gooey, chewy texture I was looking for.

The Portuguese Tart was probably the best of the bunch, although the pastry once again was disappointing. the filling was rather tasty though.

One bad item and maybe it could have been bad luck and I just chose the wrong thing, but 3...I don't think I'd be returning.

Hovered around the counter for a long while trying to choose from the wide variety of cakes and pastries on offer. In the end I got a Greek Vanilla Slice and also a Portuguese custard tart. Sat at one of the market tables and made my way through the vanilla slice which was accompanied with a latte from the nearby Zuma Cafe. The slice was fresh with delicate, fluffy pastry and a lovely creamy custard filling. Really enjoyed this. The tart was saved for later, it was also delicious.

I can't get enough of Providore. Long ago, I used to work in the deli at Coles. When I had a late shift on a Friday night, my parents would pick me up and they would buy me a rocky road muffin. I always looked forward to it.

Fast forward a few years. I visit Providore as often as I'm in town, and the Central Markets are open. It tends to be every trip. I recently had the apple baked cheesecake. It was amazing - rich, decadent, creamy and full of flavour. Everything a baked cheesecake should be. Check this place out, the range of cakes is overwhelming, but you'll certainly be pleased with whatever you happen to choose.

My mum likes buying their whole cakes for birthdays. The prices are fair and the cakes are amazing.

How can one miss The Providore stall with its marvelous chocolate fountain? This stall is too wicked for words. Decadent desserts, cakes and sweets will grab your undivided attention and kids will not leave until they get their lamingtons and chocolate crackles. What am I saying? I wouldn't move either until I got mine too!

The sweets are fresh and handmade, and there’s so much on offer, you’ll be spinning around in circles. From the top of my head there were chocolates, cookies, cakes, muffins and an assortment of sweets.
