Review White Picket Coffee House - Adelaide

Bronwyn Clee
I had a lovely lunch here which is why I gave it two stars, but the rude attitude of a staff member was breathtaking. After lunch, I ordered a gluten free almond biscuit and a coconut milk latte and asked for the coffee to be hot. The staff member rudely said it will be horrible, to which I replied, I don’t want horrible, I just want a hot coffee. The biscuit was plonked on my table and it was so disgustingly sweet I couldn’t eat it. I grabbed the attention of a young staffer and politely said the biscuit was awful and again was dismissed. I’d been at the cafe for about an hour by this stage, and my plate from my lovely lunch was still sitting to the side, waiting to be removed. So based on my disappointment, and rather than post a bad review, I asked for the manager so I could give some feedback. Turns out the rude staff member is the manager! So none of my feedback was taken on board, she dismissed everything I said and not even a sense of an apology offered. I did say that I wanted to share the feedback before leaving a review and only then was a half hearted apology given. I was so disappointed, as I know how tough small businesses are doing it, and a little bit of finesse would have turned me around in seconds.

A lovely little spot to meet a friend in the leafy Eastern suburbs of Adelaide. Plenty of tables to sit outside.

Bloody tops! Paul is a quiet but attentive host, his staff like him, for good reason I think. Food is top end. Room to park a loaded car trailer outside, but maybe I was lucky!

Usually go to the cafe across the road but as it was closed thought we would try the White Picket Fence. Staff attitude is a bit off - not terribly friendly. Thought we’d try what we usually have across the road but it didn’t quite hit the mark. The poached eggs were perfect but the hollandaise sauce was lacking flavour & the toast was plain old cheap white bread & was hardly toasted & soft & doughy. I sent it back & even the more toasted piece of bread was not very nice. Sourdough bread would have been a much better offering. So all in all a bit disappointed so probably won’t be back.

It is normally busy, but it doesn't mean you cannot find a cosy seat and enjoy your coffee, there are several spaces indoor and outdoor, there is also a back yard suitable for families with kids, the other two outdoor spaces are very nice, although located beside the square, but you still have your privacy. The staff are very attentive and professional, and the coffee always had constant quality so far.

I came in to this place, and sit down on the table for 15 minutes waiting for someone to deliver the menu, there was a waiter around and didn't bother to say I had to order at the counter. I ordered a coffee which was immediately delivered to my table, which was not hot and the foam had already settled which for me means that coffee had been rejected from someone else's table and they just gave it to me. Then I waited for 30 minutes for my eggs benedict to be served while seeing order costumers that arrived after me being served first than me. After 30 minutes a received a COLD dish of eggs benedict with an awful presentation and average taste. I paid for for this dish plus coffee $30!!! You guys had my dish ready to be delivered for a long time and went COLD (and you still served it to me). Have some respect for someone who pays that much money for something like this. I would not only come back but as a Google Guide Level 7 and food blogger would encourage people not to waste their money and time in this place.

This cute brunch spot is in the quiet streets of Dulwich and offers a surprisingly decent amount of tables both inside and outside. The coffee is pretty good and there are a decent range of food options available. I went with the 5065 Burger which was quite impressive and came with delicious shoestring fries that came out super fresh and hot. Will definitely head back. Love hanging out at places like these where you can relax in the quiet suburban streets

Whilst running errands in the area I stopped for coffee at this cute coffee shop in Dulwich. Coffee was good & service good too.

Sometimes you just need toast and it always tastes better when someone else presents it to you and it’s paired with the most delicious smoothie ever 😍😋

Such a beautiful cafe in an old house, so many tables tucked away inside and out, it was fantastic! You order and pay at the counter and the breakfast/lunch menu is all day which is always helpful!

Pictured is the Sourdough Toast with Jam & M.V.P (almond milk, protein, banana and peanut butter)!

I was stunned to be charged $6 for a mug of Flat White. I suppose it is clever not to publish their coffee prices on their web site menu nor in the store. Most would not see the cost when they pay. Next ....

Nice coffee and good service. Had an almond latte and it was as good as something you’ll have in roasters. Staff were friendly and nice takeaway selection

The fine selection of cakes at White Picket made me return a week later to indulge again. This time I opted for a sweet brunch - their beautiful brioche French Toast. It was presented well and hit the spot on a miserable Winter's day. Dulwich is a stunning suburb offering a great selection of cafes to chill out at on a weekend.

Over in Adelaide for business and this was the chosen meeting place. The environment is lovely, an old house redone. I ordered breakfast which was quick and delicious. The coffee is ok, piccolo was in a glass that is a touch large for it so to my taste it was a bit milky. The staff are friendly but in response to one of the other reviews, the radio is still on. I would much prefer music. Stream people, stream.

We enjoy the lovely well made coffee, the porridge with pistachios, (yum!) the toast, all good, but please oh please spare us the shrill FM radio breakfast show buffoon hosts, and their jangling ads. Sometimes, these announcers can manage to squeeze in a song.
There’s plenty of great music on line...it’s almost 2018..stream some good music..maybe play a CD? But when the customers arrive dump the radio. Please.

Very Small breakfast menu, but also all day lunch of offer. We ordered the sweet potato hash and the burger. I expected the hash to be fried and crispier, essentially it was a bowl of roasted potato, which we can all make at home. The amount of chorizo was very generous. The burger was very saucy and quite enjoyable.
