On our visit back to Adelaide we just had to go back to sushi train, absolutely love it here and can’t believe there’s not a chain in Melbourne!!
It was a week night in winter and while most of the office workers in Adelaide were fleeing the city as though vampires were about to come out, those in the know were cramming into Sushi Train.
Sushi Train looks ordinary from the outside and can be hard to find, but it is well worth searching out for great sushi.
Highlights for us were the soft-shell crab, chicken karaage, salmon sashimi, and the spicy selection. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The prices are not cheap, but great value for such fresh, quality food.
Highly recommended!
Always reliable and always consistent. This location has had a recent makeover and now has much more dining room. The miso soup is great and available in a variety of sizes. I love the mini rainbow rolls but it always fresh and presented well.
Huge fan of the sushi train especially that you get more portions and more choices i liked the place in the king William actually i will highly recommend it for those who have a good taste in sushi
I mean a sushi train? hello is there really anything that can go wrong with sushi!
they had a lot of options and accommodated for vegetarians with a lot of veggi sushi dishes which gives it an extra plus from me.
The sushi here is always great, I find myself coming back quite frequently. The food is cheap and good quality. The staff are really friendly and helpful.
I sometimes pop in to this place on my lunch break or for dinner and have been pretty satisfied with their overall selection of sushi and how tasty it is.
I think it can be pretty pricey though for two people eating so we don't visit as much anymore, and it's consistently busy especially during peak lunch hours so seating is sometimes not available.
And if you were to visit late lunch so after 3pm they have a much more limited selection on the train and it's not nearly as fresh.
I didnt expect I would get a decent sushi when I passed this restaurant. Decided to drop by and sushi was freshly made. Overall is a great food I have in this restaurant
I honestly did not expect Adelaide to have decent sushi, so I was delighted to have a fantastic meal here the other night. I enjoyed every plate I tried, my favourite being the seared salmon roll with scallop on top. It was melt-in-the-mouth delicious! You can tell they use fresh ingredients here. The only slight negative comment I have is that they douse a lot of their sushi in mayo. Otherwise I have nothing bad to say about the sushi here. The prices are more than reasonable, too. Definitely going to be back!
If this restaurant is located in Japan it would be Budget sushi quality But it"s In Adelaide. It"s upper averaged. A bit overpriced. Friendly staffs. Owner is Japanese. But staffs are Korean and Chinese in Japanese restaurant.
If you want to order sushi plate,s just ask to chief directly. Its much fresher. I don't recommend to have nigiris on the sushi train.
Yum! Great sushi train! Fresh and tasty sushi with a selection of seafood, chicken, vegetarian and sweet sushi plates! Staff were jovial and welcoming! Facilities were clean and staff were accommodating to our needs. Was busy, but I imagine this was due to the popularity of the restaurant.
Will be back!
This was one of the best place to have sushi everything was so mouthwatering. Loved the experience it was definitely worth the wait and experience. You gotta try them. The sushi is done freshly and expertly. There was so much people wanting sushi so it's worth the wait just letting you know.

Great place to dine out. Affordable and satisfying. The staff are friendly and hardworking too. Sushi variety was nice, and well priced. Will definitely revisit.
Excellent service. So welcoming and friendly. My niece left her bag behind and a waiter chased us down Grenfell St to return it, all contents in there including her tablet. Thank you so much. Will come again.
God I love Sushi Train, all of them. But this is my fave. Recentlyish moved to this new location and greatly improved, much larger and many more covers. Go early to avoid frustration and to get a spot without waiting.
Food is the same as all the others-consistently good, freshly made obviously, varied, not especially authentic but that’s what we westerners want!
Great prices and nice selection to choose from. I especially liked the karage chicken 🌶️🌶️🌶️. Alcohol is available as well. Friendly service and low wait times 😁
