Came by to grab a quick bite and was quite happy with my meal.
Snapper and Flake were really good and freshly made (no frozen fish). Chips (small size) was a quite generous serving but tasted a little bit burned unfortunately. They were also freshly made & big and chunky.
Overall fair prices, generous servings and good food!
Delicious! They got the batter right and cooked it well. Crispy, without being dry and over cooked. The fish was dense, of substance and fresh. Chips, chunky and potatoey - just the way I like it. Not the cheapest, but the quality and fair serving size made up for it.
Ok, not expecting much from a fish n chip place in terms of burgers, but YES both burgers were great. Not oily, fresh and super tasty. I got the Cheese Royale and my friend got the fish burger. We cut our burgers in half and shared a half each and couldn't decide which was better, both great. Fish burger perhaps won because the fillet was generous, moist and crunchy on the outside. Good pickles and sauce in both.
Also, crunchy chips cooked in fresh oil (I hate that icky texture from some deep fried foods) friendly service and reasonably priced. I'll be back.

We came here once before a long time ago and decided to dine here again after our initial choice nearby was closed. It was quite packed on a Saturday evening. Ambience was ok; there were some tables inside and some benches outside, but it felt more functional than cosy.
I got the reef pack (fish of the day, seafood stick, 2 calamari rings, chips, lemon and tartare) and my wife got the grilled salmon with brown rice and quinoa salad. My dish was mediocre. The fish wasn't anything special, size was also average (it looks big but was quite thin). Chips were basically filler food as with most fish and chips places, dry and tasteless. Seafood stick is what it is, and the calamari rings weren't bad. The salad leaves the dish came with were quite dried out.
The salmon, on the other hand, was really good. Well seasoned and fully cooked but still moist. They gave a ton of brown rice, way too much in my opinion, but hey that's their choice. Quinoa really isn't my thing but the quinoa salad was really quite good and they also gave a generous serve. It had walnuts, pumpkin and other goodies and was well dressed and delicious. I had quite a few spoonfuls, which is all you can expect out of me.
Prices were average ($10-20). My wife would probably come back for the salmon but I wouldn't come here for the fried food.
A girlfriend and I had dinner here the other night, we sat outside as the weather was lovely. Lots of seating both inside and out.
The menu is good with beautiful fresh fish and skewers on offer.
We both ordered the grilled fish, salad and chips pack. We choose the snapper and a greek salad option for the salad. I am not the biggest fish and chips person but this was really nice, perfect on a warm night too as it was not heavy or oily.
Pricing is what you'd expect for the area, the produce was good quality so worth the value.
Casual fish and chips take away or eat-in spot on Bridgeport Street . I always have the grilled fish and chips pack which comes with a choice of salad. Fish is always fresh and cooked perfectly. Popular local hangout.
These guys do a great grilled fish! The scallops were small in size but besides that a great choice of venue. Tasty and looked very fresh :)
Yummy food with great service. As hot seafood and chips with tasty Greek salad. Portion size was good to make a decent sized meal. Complimentary tartare sauce added a twist to the mains
Delicious and tender fish plus perfect calamari, although chips were a little bit dry. Overall speaking- a very strong 4.5. Food came hot and crispy and I really enjoyed the tartare sauce.
The best fish and chips in Melbourne. Don't even think about Hunky Dory. Hunky Dory is not even anything close to this. Quality seafood! Everything is cooked to perfection and has a lot of care with how it is presented and cooked. You can tell they know their seafood. I love that not many people know about this place, because I don't want it packed like Hunky Dory.
Had a variety of dishes from Saltwater, one of the best fish and chips places in the area and reasonably priced considering the Albert Park location. The fish fillet burger was great, the seafood basket had two fried crab sticks, prawn, scallops, two fish bites and two calamari, all cooked well. Portions are on the larger side, with many patrons leaving a lot of leftovers on their tables. The chips could have been better as they were a little mushy. Otherwise plenty of seating options both inside and outside and easy parking out the front.

Recently updated their menu and now it's my favourite fish & chip place in the area.
I had a burger and my girlfriend had a grilled flake and I can honestly say that the burger was probably the best burger in Australia that I’ve eaten. Just juicy and had all the right flavours. Chips and onion rings were nice and the potato cakes were top notch. Will be coming here more often
Awesome fish and chips. I particularly liked how I didn't have to ask for my order to be cooked extra-crispy, as that's how it was done anyway. The fish was very succulent and the potato cakes were very crunchy.
I love this place! My favourite fish and chip resturant. You do not get beter value than this place! Large portions, great fish, well cooked food. I have been here so many times and I just had to give this place 5 stars. Honestly look at the menu, look at the prices and you will never look back!! Great place to take a partner, kids and family. Perfect
