Cest Bon.... Jean Paul has weaved the Magic .... Superb ... I celebrated a birthday here and J.P. made it a very special moment...Merci... the food and wine was magnificent .. Scallops for entree and Trumpeter fish for main ... I observed meat dishes to die for and all the traditional French Cuisine ...highly recommended
Hidden gem. Genuine alternative to the other noisy french bistros in the area. Delicious confit de canard, attentive service. Give it a try.
Came here not too long ago for dinner and was not at all disappointed. Friendly and knowledgable staff with efficient service the whole night through. Food was absolutely delicious and fresh that arrived quickly upon ordering. Lovely atmosphere inside to dine in - looking forward to returning! :)
Great french restaurant and have been coming here for years with a group of friends. The good is great, although I miss some of my favourites which have disappeared from the menu. The owner is great and always ensures you get looked after.
These boys know hospitality. For a table of 6 they accomodated us perfectly. One of our group was in a wheelchair and the maitre d' Pascal looked after her supremely well. Food is on point too!

What a great little place! Situated in a small and pretty location on the border of Toorak and Armadale . Four of us warmly welcomed , helped with storing coats and scarves and given a choice of two well spaced tables . The table was nicely set with sparkling flatware and glasses . Nice crisp napkins . All very smart yet with a casual ambience. No delay in offering water and menus . But not rushed either . Ok, we're are already feeling good about this place! The menu is not huge but seemed to have something for al tastes . My muscles with chili ... excellent and a bit different to the usual . Other had a gorgeous looking little soufflé, onion soup, carpaccio. A continuous supply of nice crusty bread . Well time wine at a reasonable price . No subtle forcing us to a second bottle . Then 4 different mains . Rabbit, beef Bourgogne, fish , pork . No disappointments . We found the opposite. . So often you go to a restaurant anticipating disaster or frustration. Chez Bob delivered excellent food , really good service ..all in all a happy experience. MORE... desserts are brilliant but maybe not necessary after such perfect entrees and mains . We had a small cheese plate ( good selection provided) and shared a chocolate something and a tart tartin . Good coffee. Um.. another glass of wine! Highly recommend. Oh , and we saw the man with the green glasses . Seemed ok to us!
Steak was mouth watering. Staff were attentive. Atsmosphere is gorgeous. Good wine selection. Small and intimate for special occassion dining. Definitately recommend.
Went tonight for dinner. One of the best steaks I've had in years. Great service and comfy inside. Chocolate mouse was perfect ended up ordering two.

Service was impeccable from start to finish …. the bread was sensational (I could have just eaten that all night and been happy), meals were cooked perfectly and dessert was nothing short of sensational!
Highly recommended - and our guests were equally impressed.
Definitely worth a visit …. can't wait to go back again.
Cannot fault! Service, food, and atmosphere was amazing! I had the special which was pork belly with red cabbage and sugar snap peas.. Best decision I made all day :)
Great atmosphere with friendly and attentive service. I had cauliflower soup for entree and my companions had escargot and onion soup - all fabulous. For the main I ordered Steak cooked Australian medium not French medium. My companions also had Steak and Bouillabaisse. Both Steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking and the Bouillabaisse received high praise. I highly recommend Chez Bob and look forward to going back again.
We had a special family dinner here - 16 of us! 8 adults and 8 children aged from 5 to 16. Apart from the food, which was delightful, the waiters were impressive from the moment we walked in the door. They were attentive to all and adapted their approach appropriately according to the ages of each child. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Excellent food! The entrees were delicious and beautifully presented! Mains did not disappoint, authentic French food at is best. Great selection of wines. The service was amazing, the waiter professional and kind! Unfortunately I only took pictures of the wine and desserts but definitely the experience was on point! Come back for sure!
Really enjoyed the meals here, reminded me of Paris. The escargots are on point so don’t be afraid of trying it here ! Steak tartare was refreshing and a dash of tang. For mains: the soup was flavourful and plenty of seafood. The soup wasn’t thick and great to warm the tummy. Also had the duck confit - it was delicious !
Had been a favourite for years, however the quality sadly seems to be slipping, as my savoury souffle (same favourite I order each time) came out raw in the centre. The duck was dry and unappetizing. Nice bread, and serving a decent size of French bubbly.
I don't write many reviews, but this place was too good not to share. I dined at Chez Bob earlier this week. So happy to have discovered this hidden gem! Everything we ate was perfection, the duck liver parfait was sublime, and the bouillabaisse sauce that came with the snapper dish was one of the best things I've ever tried. The service was excellent as well. I definitely will be back!
