Got an $8 bento box from here today. It’s available all day and there are eight options to choose from, which is quite a good variety. Ended up opting for Box A which comprises of curry chicken, a steamed mince pork patty and some cabbage with rice as well as a seaweed soup. Not a bad deal as the portion size is definitely enough, but the taste was not that memorable because the food seemed to have been pre-cooked in bulk. I’d say it’s value for money, but if you’re looking for quality over quantity then this isn’t for you. Haven’t tried any of their other dishes before so I can’t judge the entire restaurant based on this one visit - will order something from their regular menu next time.
Been there a few times. Highlights for me were KamHeong Chicken, KangKong, Sambal Veg, Yam Ring, HotPlate(Japanese) Tofu. They seem to be better with the sharing dishes than the individual type dishes (Fried rice, CharKwayToew etc..).
Super friendly service, we loved the homemade tofu!!! The zomato gold 1+1 was really easy to use as well. I also enjoyed the char kuey teow. The salted egg yolk dishes were tasty too. Good flavours and dishes came out quickly as well.
This place is always busy on the weekend so was happy to finally try it today! 😋😋
Taste 3.5/5
The classic char kway teow as a staple Malaysian dish was tasty but a little soggy and lacking the wok taste but still good. Wontons were super and fresh.
The Mongolian beef was a little too starchy and salty but would have gone better with rice as opposed to noodles
Deco and staff 5/5
As a casual restaurant the place is great and staff were quick to help and polite!

Kam Heong Clams & Salted Egg Chicken very yummy! Same taste as back home
We arrived at 6:30 Friday night without a reservation and the restaurant was already full of local Malaysian families, which was a good sign. The place was a little loud as expected so not an ideal date spot but it was still easy to hold a conversation.
Design: Interior decour of the restaurant was no frills but well presented, with exposed brick walls and comfortable padded seats. There were the standard seat configurations of 2 and 4 as well as three large tables for groups of 8 or more. The Malaysian paintings on the walls and Buddha guarding the door added a touch of class and authenticity.
Food: We ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup and the Curry Laksa (both $15). Service was brisk and we received our food in about 15 minutes despite it being a busy night. The portions were huge so the fact they gave takeaway containers (FOR FREE) was a huge boon. The Curry Laksa broth packed the usual heat that I love, though disappointingly there were no prawns or fishcake in the dish. The chicken was also very dry and tasted like it was precooked. Two varieties of noodles, bean sprouts and tofu were also included as per usual. On the other hand, the Wonton Noodles were fantastic with flavourful broth, fresh Bok Choy and crispy noodles that melted in my mouth. I also counted six very generously sized wontons filled with pork.
Plenty of parking available on either Doncaster Rd or the side streets at the back of the restaurant. If all else fails you can always park at Aldi next door. All in all I would definitely visit again but make sure you book on a weekend.
Enjoyed all the dishes. Tasty and flavoursome
Very friendly wait staff.
Went to restaurant tonight and ordered most of the food recommended here on Zomato. I like the fish head curry - think I would buy a takeaway of this dish and bring it home. The curry will definitely goes very well with some noodles added to the curry. Also ordered the crispy pork shoulder - the sauce that comes with it brings out the taste of the pork. Wanted to order the yam basket but they already run out of it. Next time should pre-ordered this dish when u do the table booking. Food came out quite quickly and service was good. They honoured the Zomato Gold 1+1. Would go back again for lunch one day and try their noodles.
Great food and reasonable priced. The restaurant is getting busier especially on weekend so remember to make reservation to avoid disappointment.
Had the CnY dinner menu last Saturday with a group of friends (13 ppl in total). Paid $70 per head. I think it was overpriced. I barely ate $70 worth of food. The dishes were quite salty. Vegetable dishes had lil pieces of meat/porc in there. Was hoping the veg dishes would only have vegetables in there as there were already a lot of meat dishes on the menu . Repeated ingredients in some dishes. Service was ok. Food presentation was great but as the adage goes “the proof is in the pudding” .
On another note, the dishes you see on the photos did taste ok- good .
We had double lobster and noodles, fried Japanese tofu with minced pork, and fried barramundi for dinner last night. Amazing cooking, really enjoyed all the dishes (especially the lobster)!
The food is good and authentic. But the restaurant need to renovate to be more attractive. It take a while to wait for the food to be served due to lots of online take away order.
Great Chinese New year Eve dinner with a special menu. Very impressive for a great value of $688. Everyone is happy.
Great food!! 😋 love their Singapore style hokkien noodle !
I have been here a few times now and I must say it has been quite consistently delicious. They have a very authentic version of the yam ring (which is one of my top 5 final dishes to have if I was on death row). Alas, on this Friday night, they had run out so I had to put up with their fish head curry, marmite pork ribs and salted egg prawns instead. All of which were super impressive!
The chunky meaty pieces of deep fried fish head made my head spin. The curry broth was tingle worthy while the marmite pork ribs brought back warm childhood memories. The prawns were fresh and huge - loved the seasoning. The food was mildly on the salty side but nothing a bowl of rice couldn’t rectify.
I definitely will be back for my yam ring fix, which I now know should be pre-ordered. Nothing will come between me and my yam ring ever again!☀️
We often forget to come here but when we do we are always so happy with our dishes. The food is always so delicious and my girls who are quite fussy with food always enjoy their meals from Malaysian Station, highly recommend if your after Chinese/ Malaysian food!
